"Uniting all (Christians) in one BODY" ... then you must consider what the BODY of God consists of.

1 Corinthians 12:18. But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19. And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20. But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23. And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Some people who think they know Jesus and call themselves "Christians" really do not know Christ. A Christian follow Christ and he becomes our example as God's "pattern son". The body of Christ includes all children (members) and for their salvation he was crucified that he might redeem all and draw all men "where I am" (there ye may be also). He who comes to me (in that drawing process), I will in no wise cast out"!

I was just BRAGGING about Christian Forums as the most progressive message board on the "Net" which nearly captures the essence Paul's treatise concerning the "body" (family/children) of the Father. No message board that I have been a part of comes as close to actually LIVING THAT TRUTH. They cast out "members" they do not like, those who seem to be without honor and "understanding". Jesus WILL NOT DO THAT!

Now what do you want to make me do? eat crow? if you degrade your HIGHER approval in the sight of God just to "man please"? I can tell you right now you have more honor with the Father than those who EXCLUDE some of His children because He has not given them as much understanding as some think they should have. It is better to please God by your present EXAMPLE than to tell some "members" ... "You are not part of the BODY ... and we have no need of you"! You are "walking the walk" NOW! If you should exclude "less honorable" members, you will degrade this board as a "man-pleaser". I will have to eat crow, beak, feet, feathers and all! If you do option two, please give me another choice for my crow:

A. boiled

B. baked

C. fried

D. whole and raw

Do I have to eat crow? I prefer Kentucky Fried Chicken! I will also take turkey! Thanks.

Option 1 is more what I'd like to see.

Option 2 implies a lot of stuff that I don't agree with as a Christian living in a secular world.

People were still posting in the original poll thread that we've worked to keep open so people can vote.

To keep that thread from reaching 1000 posts and closing, we move them from there to this thread.

Vbulletin lets you move posts to a closed thread, so that's why it appears people were able to post while the thread was closed. The posts were merged.

Hope that makes sense.

Folks, I understand that many of you are voting for option 2 with the best of intentions. But you're still going to have to realize that you're sending a message to non-Christians by shutting them out.

I, personally, think a lot of you feel threatened by the fact that many non-Christians are able to challenge your personal interpretations of Scripture, and if that's so, then choosing to shut out those same non-Christians is tantamount to burying your head in the sand. Making CF an exclusively Christian forum is only going to offer you a temporary respite from those challenges; the inconsistencies in your logic that non-Christians will point out aren't simply going to disappear.

I like having Atheists here (and other people from other Faiths): I've learned a lot about myself and about my own faith.

However, this is a Christian forum (and so rightly named) and I feel that we ought to keep that standard.

I can guarantee you, shutting out non-Christians will permanently set a completely un-Christian standard for these forums.

To me, a truly Christian site is one in which the Christian contingent leads by Christ-like example. As St. Francis of Assisi put it, "Preach the Gospel - and if necessary, use words."

I have kept up with things; I'm not particularly interested in this poll. What I am interested in is the rationale behind people's willingness to vote for option 2 in any case. To me, the idea of restricting non-Christians is so antithetical to what Jesus stood for that it completely negates any other reason one might have for voting for that option.
