  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Any astronomers in the house? If so, what kind of scope do you have and what do you like to look at?

Celestron C9.25 on a CG-5 mount along with an Orion 100mm refractor on a VersaGo II alt-azimuth mount.

I primarily look at deep sky objects like clusters and galaxies, but the bright skies in Ohio make that difficult at times.

God Bless,
Wesley

It's something I've always been very interested in learning. I love looking up at the stars and trying to find constellations and stuff. I really want a telescope. I never got one as a kid :(..... haha.

I'd love to get one and look at what I can't see with the naked eye, like galaxies and all that.

Used to do a lot of backyard astronomy when I was younger, but the city lights just keep getting brighter and brighter and time seems less and less available.

Anyway, I still have may original telescope, 4" Omcon Newtonian reflector with a 7x50 viewfinder. It's on an inadequate equatorial mount that I could never figure out properly (purely manual) so I memorized the sky.

I've probably seen just about everything I can from my backyard. I too love the deep sky objects, my favourite being the pair of galaxies M81 and M82.
