Wow, great questions Beauty4Ashes
What has God been teaching you lately?
Lately God has been showing me that, when I speak, it should have substance and meaning~
"A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right?
For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account of every idle word you speak.
The words you say will acquit or condemn you.
~Matthew 12:33-37
This has been very very meaningful to me lately, and I pray that the Holy Sprit an work through me to be more like Christ in everything I say and do.
What are three of your strengths?
Evangelism/being bold about my faith
Having an empathy for people
Comforting others
3 of your weaknesses?
Hmmmmmm...
really good books
sometimes taking too long to get ready
procrastination
What advice would you give a single person wanting to be married?
Well, wait on God's timing..God knows the desires of your heart,
"He grants the dersires of those who fear Him;
He hears their cries for help and rescues them."
~Psalm 145:19
What advice would you give a sick person wanting to be well?
Read the book of Job. Job was an amazing, God fearing, man who we could all aspire to. He praised God through all his strife and sickness.
"..'The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!'
In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God."
~Job 1:21-22
"He will take our weak immortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control"
~Philippians 3:21
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kind, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
~James 1:2-4
*trials, even if they take a toll on your body physically, can make you stronger through perserverance which in turn will build your character and bless you with an empathy for others.
"Don't be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones."
~Proverbs 3:7-8
What advice would you give to a dying person who wants to live?
"For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better."
~Philippians 1:21
"For we know that when this earthly tent is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing."
2 Corithians 5:1-2 (the rest of 2 Corithians 5 discusses the same topic)
What advice would you give a married person who wants to be single?
It depends on the situation. If the married spouse wants to be single out of selfishness in want of other partners, then I would advise them to pray and get counseling for their marriage.
"..a wife must not leave her husband. But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else reconciled with him. And the husband must not leave his wife."
~1 Corithians 7:10-11
Again, if it were a real situation, I would need some more info.
What advice would you give to someone with a broken heart?
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11
Among others this scripture gives us hope that God does want us to be happy. Although a broken heart takes time to heal, God can move in outstanding ways to help that process to be purposeful to your life.
What advice would you give to someone who is lonely?
This depends on the situation. Are they with a church? Have they made an effort to search their community to look for Christian outlets? (Considering that the people in these situations are fellow members of the Body of Christ.) If they are involved in all of the above, then my advice is to find comfort and refuge in the Lord. To draw closer and learn how this can be purposeful to your life; maybe it will inspire others.
"We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort.."
~Philipians 3:3
Somtimes, our Christian brothers and sisters may fail to reach out to us in these times lonliness. We're human, people tend to fail, but Jesus never does, He will always be there for you.
What advice would you give to someone who was unsure of their calling?
Prayer~"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done."
~Philippians 4:6
and
Trust~"Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding."
"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him."
~Philippians 2:13
Do you like giving advice?
Why yes, I do.
"Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you're too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important."
~Galatians 6:2-3
Do you like receiving advice?
Definitely.
What is the worst piece of advice someone gave you?
hmmm, not sure.
What about the best?
The best advice I've been given is to go into a field in which I can use the gift God bestowed on me...writing.
Wow, thanks again, you gave me and my Bible a good spiritual workout
