Valletta: 'What about the chain of custody being broke by physically preventing observers from doing their job?'
Official observers were allowed to do their job with the proviso that they did not crowd the tellers and that they wore face masks as a precaution against covid. At that time the pandemic was raging; people working at the count wore masks but many of the observers (Republicans mainly) refused to comply, insisting on approaching the tables very closely. Then they complained that they were not allowed to observe. None of them reported any irregularities in the count in the many affidavits submitted to the courts which all rejected their allegations. Nobody at the time suggested that the ballot had been compromised. That seems to have been dreamed up just now!
This was a difficult and unprecedented situation which many Republican observers appear to have exacerbated.
