Hmmm.
I am a prepper only to an extent for natural disasters and government coup ;)
I believe Scripture says tribulation is for God's wrath upon unbelieving Jews for not keeping Jubilee(s).

Enough for when I can't buy more legally. I surmise that at that point it would be illegal to keep your firearms and ammo... and I also think that at that point I would be needing more than I do now as I haven't shot anyone in a very long time if ever (wink wink) and the risk percentage would be greatly increased in that.

Hmmm.

No way to compute this? If NY PD finest only hit target 17% of time... I would need 83% more ammo than they? lol (Dog computation).

I think once I sell the house I will look at MSR purchase...but can't imagine needing that since I'll be living in a van ... and I didn't even think to draw on the bigfoot my dog and I saw... now if he were rocking the van in the woods I'd probably think of driving away asap.

Need to get to the indoor range (south Florida) though.
If you don't really want to spend a lot and don't care what people think, a HiPoint 9mm, .40, or .45 carbine is the ticket. Me thinks even the bigtoe would be might discouraged by a .45 HP shot through a carbine length barrel.

In the wake of this latest school shooting, which is causing anti-gun and anti-freedom leftists to lose their collective minds, there surely will be a run on certain items by law-abiding citizens afraid of more rights being taken away.

I have plenty of high capacity magazines for my two AR rifles, and I already have two AR rifles, which is one more than I really need. I learned my lesson years ago to be sure I have enough.

However, I have been doing a lot of reloading lately and am low on primers and powder, which I will rectify later today when I go to town.

I don't believe in hoarding and I usually just keep enough supplies on hand to keep me practicing and competing in matches for 2-3 months at a time.

However, I think it may be prudent to expand that supply out to a year or more due to the current climate.

I already have over a dozen magazines for my ARs, which I admittedly haven't shot in over a year. I bought my first one for coyote hunting and now that I live in WA, I don't hunt. Now it's strictly a SHTF rifle. The second one was purchased before the 2016 election and I've shot it once, to sight in the scope.

So, not going to buy any more ARs or high-capacity magazines. Just more primers and other reloading components to I can continue to enjoy competition shooting without worry.

How about you guys and gals?
When I started I bought what I thought to be the most popular caliber at the time. 9mm pistol, then a 9mm carbine. Were not expensive either.

I'd love to get a 9mm carbine (but not the Hi-Point), but it seems that most of the carbines are now AR-style, and they cost more than a 5.56 AR costs, for some reason. Ruger used to have one, and now just released it again. Might be worth looking into. Personally, I think I'd prefer the 9mm over 5.56 due to it being so much quieter in an enclosed setting if used for defense. 5.56 is obnoxiously loud.

I love that God gave us choice in our salvation and we have choice in our guns. The old Ruger Camp 9mm, Beretta Storm 9mm, KelTec Sub 2000, Chiappa M1-9mm are all good choices, and the new Ruger will accept all Ruger SR and their newly released Security 9 magazines. As for me, the HiPoint 9mm Carbine came at a time I was stocking my bug out stockings so the budget dictated what I could buy. As it turned out once I had broken in the carbine I ended up getting a .40 as well and haven't looked back. Both have been great shooters and rock solid. At least so far.

I wanted to like the Hi-Point carbine, but was immediately turned off by it when looking at it in the store. To me, it felt like it was made extremely cheap. The magazines were made completely of plastic, and the trigger felt awful. Of course, I know people who have it seem to love it while others don't. I've heard that it works great. I guess it's feel just doesn't give me much confidence.

You got the wrong magazines I am afraid unless you are talking about the follower and the base. As for the trigger I admit they are not the best but I took mine down and hit it with a jewelers stone and slicked it up just enough to feel safe with it. I was knocking the 10 ring out with my own hand loads of 5.8 grains of Power Pistol pushing a 124 grain Hornady XTP. If I had to go into a survival mode I would not hesitate to use it on a deer, hog, goat, or rabbit within a 50-60 yard radius.

On another note; I took my MMSR out today and set up my ATN Day/Night scope and once I got it zeroed in I had the next 10 shots go right on the bullseye. I can't wait to get out and hunt hogs at night now. This has been a 5 year long journey to get where I can bring home some bacon. LOL

The new Ruger carbine also comes with an adapter that lets you use Glock 9mm magazines as well. It is a very attractive choice in that style of weapon.
I knew the old Camp 9 did. I wasn't aware these did as well but considering the number of Glocks out there it makes sense. The idea of a pistol caliber carbine is to go with a pistol of like caliber and magazine.

The reason I like it is because it increases the power of a handgun cartridge while also lowering its muzzle blast. I believe a 9mm normally gets about 320 ft. lbs. of energy from a handgun, but closer to 400 ft. lbs. from a 16" barrel.
