His name is not removed, we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

See that right there? "Son", that's Jesus. We are baptizing in His name, He is the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity.

Your charge is meritless.

You reject the clear teaching of scripture. Again, here's what it says;
Baptism in Jesus’ name

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Matthew 28:19 (KJV 1900)

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)” Acts 8:16 (KJV 1900)

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.” Acts 10:48 (KJV 1900)

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 19:5 (KJV 1900)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:38 (KJV 1900)

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?” Romans 6:3 (KJV 1900)

Let me guess, it frequently shows up on the internet in the same context, by those with the same agenda? Never in any scholarly or academic context, and never with a legitimate citation.

Let me explain to you how that works. You see, someone, somewhere decided to just make up a quote, and then others without verifying that quote, also copy and pasted it. And then it keeps getting spread.

But have you read the entire Catechism? How can you be sure when so many have read those very words?

Google it if you have the courage.
Did. It’s quoted solely by your co-religionists. It’s a fraud that apparently y’all pass around amongst yourselves.

It's not a good look when you have so little argument to stand on that you have to resort to childish taunting. Did you also want to let us know that your dad can beat up our dad?

Is this a game? Are you just having a laugh here? What is this behavior?

I marvel at how you put what you've been taught above what the Bible so clearly teaches.

I marvel that having seen your embarassingly false "proofs" shot down in flames you still keep beating that same tub.

"Truth", like your made-up "quote" from the Catholic Encyclopedia? Have you no shame?

Oneness Pentacostals seem to be pretty rare. Never met one.
No, they're not rare--a minority among Pentecostals, but not "rare." I should think they lean to the Arminian position. In my view, cultc/separatist type groups lean towards what I believe is a Legalist position. And that would not be Calvinist.

Of course, not all Arminians are legalistic. Free will can be expressed as either self-righteousness or freedom via Grace.

God's view would trump all of our views. I for a short time was in a Christian cult that I later discovered to be "oneness." Some have referred to Witness Lee's cult as the "Local Church," because they believe they alone among churches believe in one church per city.

When I discovered their "exclusive" views about themselves, I challenged it and was cussed at by one of their leaders. I quickly exited from the group, and got connected to a church where Walter Martin, famous apologist and cult expert taught. I listened to the "Bible Answerman" for a few hours every week, and gradually got somewhat conversant on a number of issues.

But the matter of the Trinity is something I had to work out for myself. And today, very few agree with my formula--at least they don't openly support it, nor completely reject it. But I'm not "oneness." It requires some real thinking....

I don't dismiss my Oneness brothers as non-brothers. I just disagree on the oneness doctrine and on the exclusivity.

MOD HAT ON

This thread is permanently closed.

From the CF Statement of Faith: Discussions in all "Christians Only" forums must be in alignment with Trinitarian beliefs.

Since Oneness Pentecostals do not agree with the Trinity, they are non-Christians here at CF, and their theology, including making inquiries about what they believe and who they are, is an inadmissible discussion in General Theology.
