  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

a question to everyone who in their 20s and regardless of gender, are there anymore virgins, or should i put in christian girls in the church?

seems that most girls in churches are already taken or are not ready, so where do men look to?

furthermore, is it true that majority of girls regardless of religion have already lost their virginity by the age of 24 or even younger?

whats the percentage?

NO.
Hehe, seriously, I think they are really rare. Pastor's doughters and some Jehovah Witnesses... Maybe some other girls out there (ugly, asocial...).
That's sad... But if you are a virgin you are not popular and "worth less than others" in today society. And who's guilty? Pop culture, I'd say.

Plenty of them.. I know of two. Just in my family.. I know of a few more from my church setting.. Those being raised in Godly homes and being taught why Purity . Those whom are raised by a Godly Dad and taught the scriptures and why we have the scriptures.. Many a young women today who have not followed after the world.. Those whom truly love the Lord and seek and desire to follow Him..

I don't know, IamAdopted...I'm not trying to second guess your family's integrity or anything, but I think a lot of people are a little naive about who is and isn't a virgin. I would second guess what you say only because I myself had great godly parents and I never told them when I lost mine. They thought I was pure, that I had never had sex, when in fact I had. It's easy to fool folks. And that was my parents who I lived with during those years that I was doing that. They probably knew me better than anyone, but they had no clue.

Also, there are many who truly love God and seek and desire to follow Him but have given in in a moment of weakness and have sinned by having sex outside of marriage. So even those who are devoted to Him, as nice as they are, are very capable of fornication.

I think that the standard looks too high to some and they give in thinking "no one expects me to be perfect" when really it is true that no one does expect that, but there is the idea that if you remain pure, that you are perfect. It isn't so. This might be a reason why some give in early, it was one of my reasons. Of course, I am a guy.

PS - my back hurts. Please pray that I get better soon. It's been like this for about 3-4 days now.

Also, I don't believe that a woman's worth is diminished even if she has made some mistakes in the past. I wouldn't be too worried about her past, as long as she is devoted to Christ now and is now committed to live pure.

Very true. And I know of many, many Christian heterosexuals who do not believe they have to wait for sex until they get married.

I've heard the stats in current Christian churches for celibate singles is only about 20%.

The rest of the 80% are engaging in heterosexual sex before marriage, and more than only once.

However, if a girl repents of this, remember she is washed clean, and can very well be a suitable wife and mother to your children.

Oh, and yes, I will say a prayer that your back gets better real soon!

More than you think! When friends hear that my companion and I have decided to remain abstinent, most express incredulity- but then admiration, sometimes even envy. And we have met other virgins in the wide world, a fair number.

There is a great miss-conception about loving the Lord and being dedicated to Him. if we love Him we stay pure. If we are dedicated we stay pure. Jesus said this;
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

The same is in marriage. if a man loves his wife he does not sleep with another woman and the same with the wife towards her husband. We do not simply slip we choose to disobey because of a lack of love. That includes me and everyone. If we love Him we will stay pure until marriage.

Yes exactly! The virgins I know are all very beautiful, I don't know any ugly virgins.

To the OP:
My husband and I were both virgins on our wedding day. It's very very possible to find and fall in love with a virgin.

I agree that we shouldn't judge a person by their past, but I can understand wanting to marry a virgin. After all this is how God intended it from the beginning. I'm very, very glad my husband :holy:has never been with anyone but me. On our wedding day he gave me a white rose and told me that now he is mine and he had never been another's, that he had been waiting for and keeping himself for me. I guess I'm trying to say, don't let anyone tell you that you are being harsh for wanting to court a virgin. It's normal to want someone who hasn't been with anyone else.

Yes, there are still virgins out there.

I am. My BF is, so is his brother. My sister...three of my closest gal-pals...and plenty more guys and gals I know are waiting for marriage.

If you are looking for a someone who is particularly a virgin and even ones who have rededicated themselves to living in purity, it should be evident by the lifestyle they live. *Most* I know are the ones seeking after God with their whole heart, willing to sacrifice social status of "coolness" to please His heart, and are usually the ones involved with church ministries as well.

I do not know what the percentage is, but I'd say 40%or better have lost their virginity by age 17.

I am going on 9 years of celibacy myself.
at this rate I will have raised and married my daughter off, before I can think of remarrage, if its even permissable.

Its strange, thinking about it in the future, and it seems like forever, but here I am divorced since 97, and I have only been with one woman, (however I do not want to know the number she had been with)

If becoming an eunuch would remove the desire, It would be tempting, as I have way too many problems to dream of luring in a new mate.

on the bright side, time passes so quickly, that I cannot believe how the years have passed since my divorce.

I can offer this advice to the pure, do not compromise your morals for anyone, or for any reason, I did, much to my own lament. I have only been with one woman, But it shames me, and now I have a Child from a broken home, not to mention her half siblings, that have forced me to get on frendly terms with their father, as he is their guardian as well.
Keep yourselves pure, and do not settle, until you love has tested to be true and pure, I thought my ex wife cared for me the way I did for her, and I unfortunately found out it was not true. I have also recently heard that my oldest step daughter had Gottem pregnant at 17, and her boyfriend was off with another girl he had inpregnated, while she was misscarrying. Its so heartbreaking. As we only see them rarely, and my daughter has not seen her mother in close to 2 years now.

Just wondering... does it really matter?

Of course, I'm looking from the other side of the fence, so it doesn't matter to me so much if a girl has made this type of mistake in the past. It's where her heart is now that matters. I guess I have an entirely different view on this than you, since I'm falling into sin all to often!
