Don't soften it using adultery. Compare it to murder. And then use verses like:

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44
Sin is still sin and transgression of God's law and not believing and following what Gods' Word says according in the new testament scriptures *Romans 3:20: Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Romans 14:23, just the same as it always was in the old testament. If you do not want to answer the questions asked of you in post # 38 linked just say so. You do not have to if you do not want to. I guess by your response you understood why the questions were being asked and how the scriptures do not teach partiality within the 10 commandments. Sin is still sin and defined in the scriptures as breaking anyone of Gods' 10 commandments *James 2:10-11. If we knowingly break anyone of God's 10 commandments therefore including God's 4th commandment according to the scriptures we stand guilty before God of sin. To say anything else when the scriptures say otherwise is what it really means to soften down the Words of God. According to the writer of Hebrews if we have been given a knowledge of the truth of God's Word and choose to reject it in order to continue in a life of known unrepentant sin we are in danger of the judgment *Hebrews 10:26-31. So I believe the scriptures are worth our time and consideration here.

Take Care.

Do you mean Hebrews 4:9-11? As posted earlier your leaving out the scripture context. Here let's add it back in if it might be helpful.

WHAT IS GOD’S REST IN HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4?

HEBREWS 4:1-11
[1], Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into HIS REST, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[2], For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
[3], FOR WE WHICH HAVE BELIEVED DO ENTER INTO REST, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: ALTHOUGH THE WORKS WERE FINISHED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.
[4], For he spoke in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And God did rest the SEVENTH DAY from all his works.
5, And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY REST.

KEY POINTS FROM THE SCRIPTURES OF HEBREWS 4:1-5 (exegesis)

NOTE: Context in Hebrews 4:1-5 is God's Rest from the seventh day Sabbath from the foundation of the world (v4-5) and those who enter Gods rest by and believing and following Gods Word [the gospel] who enter into God's Sabbath rest as God did on the seventh day of the week. The context here defining God’s rest/My rest/His rest is to God’s seventh day Sabbath rest created at the foundation of the world that those who believe or do not believe God's WORD do or do not enter into. The new testament writer of Hebrews is warning us that if we do not believe and follow God's Word (the gospel) and continue in sin and unbelief (Hebrews 3:10-13; 18-19) we will never enter into God's rest (His Rest/My Rest) which is defined as the "seventh day" Sabbath rest in Hebrews 4:1-5. There are two rests here. One is to the rest we enter into by believing and following Gods Word which is our rest and the rest we enter into by believing and following God’s Word to God’s rest which is the seventh day Sabbath. Hebrews 4:3-5 defines God's rest by saying [3], For we which have believed do enter into rest (our rest from or the gospel rest of believing and following God's Word), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (God's rest): although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4], For he spoke in a certain place of the "seventh day" on this wise, And God did rest the "seventh day" from all his works. [5], And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest ("seventh day").

[6], Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
[7], Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
[8], For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9] SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.
[10], For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11], LET US LABOR THEREFORE TO ENTER THAT REST, [God’s REST the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH] lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief [rejecting God’s WORD and sin; Hebrews 3].

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:9 (exegesis)

Now notice Hebrews 4, verse 9: “SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.” In verses 1, 3, 4 and 8, the Greek word for “rest” is katapausin. It means “rest.” But in verse 9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”

According to the Greek and scripture contexts of Hebrews 3:7-19 and Hebrews 4:1-9, Hebrews 4:9 is in regards to God’s seventh day Sabbath of the 4th commandment which in the context of Hebrews 4:1-5 which defines God’s rest/My rest/His rest (Hebrews 3:11; 18-19; Hebrews 4:1; 3; 5; 10) as the “seventh day” from the foundation of the world *Hebrews 4:3-4.

............

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
Hebrews 4:9 So then, it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

Lamsa Bible
Hebrews 4:9 It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

................

For your interest, the Greek word used here for Sabbath is Sabbatismos and means a Sabbath keeping or keeping of the Sabbath or how the Sabbath is kept by resting.

W. E. VINE, GREEK DICTIONARY
Sabbath rest (4520) (sabbatismos from sabbatízo = keep the Sabbath) literally means a keeping of a sabbath or a keeping of days of rest. (Note the rest of Vines comments is not the Greek it is his opinion)

HEBREWS 4:9 [9], SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

…………..

Hebrews 3:7-19 to Hebrews 4:1-11 is warning us that if we do not believe and follow God's Word (the gospel) and we continue in sin and unbelief (Hebrews 3:10-13; 18-19) we will never enter into God's rest (His Rest/My Rest) which is defined as the "seventh day" Sabbath rest in Hebrews 4:1-5. There are two rests being described. One is our rest we receive through believing and following God's Word (the gospel) *Matthew 11:28-30; Hebrews 4:2-3 and God's rest *Hebrews 3:11; 18; Hebrews 4:1; 3; 5-6; 8-9; 10-11. Hebrews 4:9 THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH. Why? Because the true seventh day Sabbath rest is a sign of God's true people who God sanctifies to keep all the commandments of God through faith in God's Word *Exodus 31:13; Exodus 31:17; Ezekiel 20:12; Ezekiel 20:20; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 22:14.

................

SUMMARY
: God's rest is the "seventh day Sabbath" of creation. Our rest is that of believing and following Gods' Word. No one enters into God's rest (defined in Hebrews as the "seventh day Sabbath") unless they believe and follow Gods' Word (the gospel rest). Of course God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:8-11) are a part of God's Word (the gospel) that God's people who enter into Gods rest believe and follow in Gods' Word just like Jesus did and the Apostles and prophets in Gods' Word. Everything provided here are not my words but have been taken directly from the scriptures which are God's Words not mine (exegesis). The warnings here are very clear. Those who do not believe and follow God's Word in order to continue in a life of known unrepentant sin (breaking anyone of God's commandments - James 2:10-11) just like those in the wilderness do not enter into Gods' rest (seventh day Sabbath) and will be in danger of the judgement to come (Hebrews 10:26-31)

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks you did put a lot of effort into that. but i have learned to understand that arguing out of Scripture like that is not wise for that is what the Scribes and Pharisees in Jesus day did as well but they sealed the Kingdom of God rather than entered it.

Like Paul says

2 Corinthians 3:6
"He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

Paul tells us about the Sabbath in Colossians 2:16-17
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

As far as physically keeping the Sabbath, as you promote, i have learned this about our freedom in Christ.
Romans 14:5-6
"One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God."

The Word gives that freedom of choice to each believer.

Personally i like The Eternal Sabbath best. Everyday again to be in His Courts and gaze at His beauty. There is no Physical place that can compare to Him, who is all glory, honour and might. i love Him with my life. He is my Rock and my Redeemer. He took my out of my sinful life and placed me in His Life. His Word is coming true in my life every day again. As we have seen before trying to obey the letter kills, but finding new life in God's Rest is to be with Him and in Him forever. i will always love Jesus for taking me from my old life and placing me into His new life, every day some more.

Peace.

Isaiah 55

“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a ruler and commander of the peoples.
Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.”

Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”

It's a shame that 99% of Christians for the last 2000 years are going to hell, and only the 1% Saturday sabbath keepers will in inherit the kingdom of God.
Who says they are lost? God only holds us accountable to what we know not what we do not know according to Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31 and James 4:17. In times of ignorance God winks at but when he gives us a knowledge of the truth of His Word he calls all men everywhere to believe and follow what His Word says. At this point if we receive a knowledge of the truth of Gods' Word and choose to reject it in order to continue in known unrepentant sin then we are in danger of the judgement because we reject the gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing doing despite to the Spirit of Gods' grace according to Hebrews 10:26-31. Something we should all seriously pray about as many are the called but only the few are the chosen according to the scriptures. Do we believe God's Word or the teachings and traditions of men over the Word of God. That is the testing question that will come to everyone of us.

Yes I did put a lot of time into providing the context you left out of your earlier interpretation of Hebrews 4:9-11. I could do the same to the scriptures you provide here and have done for Colossians 2:16 already (e.g post # 11 and post # 25 linked) showing that not a single scripture you have provided here supports a view that God's 4th commandment has been abolished once context is added back in and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest, but from your response here as soon as I do this you will just move on to somewhere else and ignore what has been shared with you. If I am wrong here however and your interested please correct me and let me know as I would be happy to share Gods' Word with you. Of course there is no need to waste everyone's time if your not interested. You should keep an opened mind here however that there is not one scripture you have provided here in this thread or in the entire bible that says God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest. This is simply a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word to follow the teachings and traditions of men over the Word of God. Jesus says in Matthew 15:2-9 if we follow man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God in we are not worshiping God. So if we are not worshiping God who are we worshiping God or men? Time will tell but at that time (second coming) it will be too late for many that had the opportunity to hear God's Word but chose to turn away from it in order to follow the teachings and traditions of men that broke the commandments of God. Even if you look at Romans 14:5 it is not even talking about Gods' 4th commandment. It is talking about eating and not eating on days that men esteem over other days not what days God esteems. The things that men esteem according to the scriptures are an abomination in God's eyes according to Luke 16:15.

Something to pray about.

That's the problem with this though. Some try to impose it on others by implying you're going against God and therefore your salvation is in question. Verses like ones below are used to apply to those who don't follow the Saturday sabbath:

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." Matthew 7:13

Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 1 John 2:4

I tend to believe that there are infinite number of different ways to interpret Scripture. I'm personally never going agree with Sunday worshippers, but I recognize that debating, like nearly all debates are, would be fruitless.

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
15And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
19Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
24Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
30So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

I think sometimes when it comes to interpretation, we have to weigh the whole of 2000 years of Christianity against a denomination with a contrary essential doctrine that sprouted in the 19th-20th century. We basically have to say that Christ kept His church in the dark up until then. And that only a very few very late in the course of time were given the truth. To me that's like predestination on steroids.

28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

Some try to use Acts of the Apostles 15 to try and argue that God's 10 commandments have been abolished which is an unbiblical teaching that has Paul in contradiction with Paul that disagrees with the rest of the bible. An interpretation that Acts of the Apostles 15 is talking about abolishing God's 10 commandments has Paul in contradiction with Paul when he says some time after the decision at Jerusalem to the Corinthian believers in 1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. Acts of the Apostles 15 therefore has nothing to do with anyone of God’s 10 commandments. It is over the question “Is the shadow law of circumcision from the law of Moses (not God’s 10 commandments) a requirement for salvation? This was the question that Paul and Barnabas went to Jerusalem to discuss. Lets look at the scriptures

ACTS OF THE APOSTLES IN CONTEXT AND THE QUESTION BEING ANSWERED IN JERUSALEM?

ACTS OF THE APOSTLES 15:1-21
[1], And certain men who came down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, EXCEPT YOU BE CIRCUMCISED AFTER THE MANNER OF MOSES YOU CANNOT BE SAVED.

NOTE: ACTS 15:1 is the question that needs to be answered and the topic of conversation and CONTEXT of the chapter of ACTS 15. Here we have Jewish believers coming to Paul and Barnabas saying if the new gentiles believers are not circumcised and made proselytes then they cannot be saved. This is the chapter context and question of contention.

[2], When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, THEY DETERMINED THAT PAUL AND BARNABAS AND CERTAIN OF THEM SHOULD GO UP TO JERUSALEM UNTO THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS ABOUT THIS QUESTION.

NOTE: ACTS 15:2 Which question? Weather your salvation depends on being circumcised.
They then traveled to Jerusalem about this question to determine if new gentile believers needed to be circumcised in order to be saved. Once they got to Jerusalem, the question was then asked and the discussion continued with the Pharisees stating their case first..

[5], But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, It is needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

NOTE: Keep in mind here the question was never over if gentile believers should obey God's 10 Commandments but to keep the Shadow laws of Moses, in this case circumcision as a means of salvation. Circumcision is from the law of Moses and is not one of God’s 10 Commandments written by God on two tables of stone.

[6], And the apostles and elders came together TO CONSIDER THIS MATTER.

NOTE: Again the topic of discussion and chapter CONTEXT that is being considered is the question stated in ACTS 15:1 which was IS CIRCUMCISION A REQUIREMENT OF SALVATION?

[7], And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, you know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
[8], And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us;

NOTE: After much discussion between the Apostles, Peter then rose up showing that God gave the gentile believers the Holy Spirit being UNCIRCUMCISED.

[9], And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
[10], Now therefore why test God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
[11], But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
[12], Then all the multitude kept silence, and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring what miracles and wonders God had done among the Gentiles by them.
[13], And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
[14], Simeon has declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
[15], And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
[16], After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
[17], That the rest of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, says the Lord, who does all these things.
[18], Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
[19], THEREFORE MY JUDGMENT IS THAT WE TROUBLE NOT THEM WHO FROM THE GENTILES ARE TURNED TO GOD:
[20], BUT WRITE UNTO THEM THAT THEY ABSTAIN FROM THE DEFILEMENT OF IDOLS, FORNICATION AND THINGS STRANGLED AND FROM BLOOD.

NOTE: JAMES conclusion is that new Gentile believers should not be troubled with CIRCUMCISION as a requirement of salvation which was the matter being considered and the question being discussion as shown in *ACTS 15:1-2; ACTS 15:6 but asks them to abstain from idols, fornication and from things strangled and from blood.

[21], FOR MOSES OF OLD TIME HAS IN EVERY CITY THEM THAT PREACH HIM, BEING READ IN THE SYNAGOGUES EVERY SABBATH.

NOTE
: The reason why JAMES sends this letter to the new Gentile believers is that they would continue learning God's WORD EVERY SABBATH.

They came to the conclusion then that salvation is not by being circumcised but by what circumcision pointed to. A new heart by faith. This is made plain latter in other scripture written by PAUL here...

ROMANS 2 [25] For circumcision verily profits, if you keep the law: but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision is made uncircumcision. [26], Therefore if the uncircumcision keeps the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? [27], And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfils the law, judge you, who by the letter and circumcision do transgress the law? [28], FOR HE IS NOT A JEW, WHO IS ONE; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OF THE OUTWARD FLESH: [29], BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT AND NOT IN THE LETTER; WHOSE PRAISE IS NOT OF MEN BUT OF GOD.

If ACTS 15 was talking about the 10 Commandments then Paul's writings in to the CORINTHIANS do not make any sense and makes Paul a hypocrite which we know he is not.

1 CORINTHIANS 7 [19] CIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, AND UNCIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

................

CONCLUSION: The context and the question seeking to be answered at Jerusalem is shown in Acts of the Apostles 15:1-2 which is the context of the chapter says [1], And certain men which came down from Judea taught the brothers, and said, EXCEPT YOU BE CIRCUMCISED AFTER THE MANNER OF MOSES YOU CANNOT BE SAVED. [2], When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, THEY DETERMINED THAT PAUL AND BARNABAS AND CERTAIN OF THEN SHOULD GO TO JERUSALEM TO THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS ABOUT THIS QUESTION. An interpretation of Acts of the Apostles 15 that Gods' 10 commandments have now been abolished has Paul in contradiction with Paul when he says sometime latter after the decision at Jerusalem to the Corinthians believers in 1 Corinthians 7:19 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. Acts 15 was never over the question are God's 10 commandments still the standard for Christian living. It was over the question is circumcision a requirement for salvation for gentile believers (Acts of the Apostles 15:1-2). God's Word does not teach the false doctrine of lawlessness (without law). This is not biblical and a false teaching that has led many away from God and His Word.

Take Care.

This is taken from another thread where it would be off topic.

The Sabbath is a commandment of God.
Exodus 34:28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 20
God did not leave it up to anyone else to write His holy laws. God personally spoke them and wrote them with His own finger and God's laws are universal, the only commandment people seem to take issue with is the one God told us to REMEMBER which is the one commandment people want to forget because they value tradition over God's spoken and written Word.
The Sabbath commandment is not off topic because Jesus told us to keep the commandments, teaching others the least of the commandments come with some consequences Matthew 5:19 and breaking a commandment is sin even in the New Testament 1 John 3:4, Romans 3:20, Romans 7:7. The Sabbath is meant to be a blessing and not sure why so many people take issue with God's holy day that He wants to spend time with us. Yes you can spend time with Him on other days but is your birthday more special to you on your birthday or a day that is more convenient for your loved one. It's a simple request that God asked not sure why more people don't embrace. God was specific about one tree and not obeying had a consequence for all of us. God is giving us a second chance- we should take it and obey.
We will have to agree to disagree.
God bless

All ten commandments are repeated in the NT as required by believers except for #4,
Exodus 20:8
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Deuteronomy 5:12
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
The 4th commandment was given exclusively to the children of Israel.
Exodus 31:16
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Leviticus 24:8
8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.
Those who choose to may observe the Sabbath and take hold of the covenant. But there is no command for gentiles to observe the Sabbath.

Isaiah 56:6
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Jesus taught how to keep the Sabbath holy through his interactions with the Pharisees on the matter. Furthermore, Jesus set a sinless example of how to walk in obedience to the Mosaic Law, so he would have still taught full obedience to it by example even if he had said nothing, including keeping the Sabbath holy, and as his followers we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22) and that those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way he walked (1 John 2:6). So Jesus taught to keep the Sabbath holy both by word and by example.

While we are under the New Covenant and not the Mosaic Covenant, we are nevertheless still under the same God with the same nature and therefore the same instructions for how to act in accordance with His nature. The way to act in accordance with God's nature is based on God's nature, not on any particular covenant, and God's nature is eternal, so any instructions that God has ever given for how to do that are eternally valid regardless of which covenant someone is under, if any. Non-believing Gentiles who aren't under the New Covenant still need to repent from doing what God's law reveals to be sin, so there us nothing about Gentiles not being under the Mosaic Covenant that means that Gentiles don't need to repent from doing what God's law reveals to be sin. It is not the case that no one would be obligated to obey God if God had never made any covenants with man, so it's not God's covenants or laws that obligate us to obey Him, but rather they inform us of our obligation and teach us how to thereby have a relationship with God. God blessed the 7th day and made it holy and what is holy to God should not be profaned by man, so we would still be obligated to keep the Sabbath holy even if God had never commanded anyone to do that. Keeping the Sabbath holy testifies that God created the word in six days and rested on the 7th day, that God is holy, and that God saves His people out of bondage, so if we think that these things are true, then we should live in a way that testifies about their truth by keeping the Sabbath holy rather than a way that denies the truth of these things by breaking the Sabbath.

In 1 Peter 16, we are told to have a holy conduct for God is holy, which is a quote from Leviticus where God was giving instructions for how to do that, which includes keeping God's Sabbaths holy (Leviticus 19:2-3), so following God's instructions for how to do that is again testifying about God's eternal holiness, while refusing to have a holy conduct is denying that God is holy. We are God's ambassadors, so the way that we live represents the nature of who God is, and we should endeavor to represent God's nature as accurately as possible rather than to present a false image of God, which is the heart of idolatry. In 1 Peter 2:9-10, Gentiles are included as part of God's chosen people, a holy nation, a royal priesthood, and a treasure of God's own possession, which are terms used to describe Israel (Deuteronomy 7:6), so Gentiles also have the delight of getting to obey the instructions that God gave for how to represent Him through fulfilling this roles. It is contradictory for a Gentile to want to become part of a holy nation while wanting nothing to do with following God's instructions for how to live as part of a holy nation.

You should keep an opened mind here however that there is not one scripture you have provided here or in the entire bible that says God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest.

i never said it was or has been. i simply said that it is the Eternal Sabbath that we are after, not a Sabbath under the law, but worshipping in the Freedom of His Spirit His eternal Sabbath. Which you keep rejecting.

Like we already have seen Today is the Day to be saved. Not Saturday, or Sunday or any other day, but Today!

The way you read Scripture is through obedience to the letter, i have already shown you that is not the way to get into Heaven. The Word is Spiritual and Alive in the Spirit of Christ living within all those who are sealed in His name.

As far as i know The Word, He is meant to be understood spiritually. Just as Scripture teaches that our new life is spiritual, why would you want to put that in old wine skins?

1 Corinthians 15:42-49
"So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being” the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall webear the image of the heavenly man."

So obeying Scripture literally, though often of much value, is not going to get you to heaven fast, but coming to life in the truths of Scripture now that will bring Christ's Eternal Sabbath in a twinkling of the eye - time and again - 24/7.

Peace.

But there is no command for gentiles to observe the Sabbath.
Isaiah 56:6
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
... for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD. Yet in this thing may the Lord pardon your servant: when my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord please pardon your servant in this thing.”
Then he said to him, “Go in peace.” So he departed from him a short distance.

2 Kings 5:17-19

It's OK not to keep the 7th day sabbath. I'd to would say go in peace, but some won't. Given that this topic has been brewing for centuries.

Judaizers: the Judaizers were a faction of the Jewish Christians, both of Jewish and non-Jewish origins, who regarded the Levitical laws of the Old Testament as still binding on all Christians.

But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?

Jesus is now The Sabbath.
Hebrews 4
There is no scripture that says Jesus is a Sabbath. Hebrews 4 is talking about God's 4th commandment seventh day Sabbath from the foundation of the world that remains for the people of God who believe and follow God's Word (detailed scripture review posted in post # 37 linked)

From what I've gathered, it didn't really start brewing to a large extent until one denomination that started in the 1860s and then another that started in the 1960s.

You can ignore it.
But it will always be there for readers anyway.

3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 For he hath said somewhere of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works; 5 and in this [place] again, They shall not enter into my rest.

There are no special days for Sabbath any longer. Those days are past.

The scriptures are indeed there for all to see so not much more needs to be said....

[11], LET US LABOR THEREFORE TO ENTER THAT REST, [God’s REST the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH] lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief [rejecting God’s WORD and sin; Hebrews 3].

.............

God's rest/His rest/My rest is defined in Hebrews 4:1-4 as the seventh day Sabbath from the foundation of the world. We who believe enter into rest, so then as it concludes in v9 it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

These of course are Gods Word not mine.

Take Care.

Galatians 2:14-16

Not applicable here. Who is telling you that you are saved by the works of the law? If no one has said this to you why are you pretending that they have? According to the scriptures we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast *Ephesians 2:8-9. As posted earlier, obedience to God's words are not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of genuine faith of one that is already been given Gods promise of salvation and the fruit of God's work in us *Philippians 2:13 as we believe and follow his word *John 10:26-27. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *James 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *Matthew 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50; Hebrews 10:26-27. Therefore we do not abolish God's law through faith like some people teach but God's law is established in the heart by faith that works by love *Romans 3:31; 1 John 5:3-4; Romans 13:8-10. According to the scriptures, sin (breaking God' commandments and not believing and following God's Word) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 John 3:6-10; 1 John 2:3-4; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14. At the second coming Christs reward is with him *Revelation 22:12.

It seems like there is so much effort trying to disregard the Sabbath by scriptures (that doesn’t disregard the Sabbath commandment) yet no one makes this much effort in finding scripture where God told us to worship Him on the first day. There is no scripture in the entire bible that says God blessed the first day, God made the first day a holy day, God sanctified the first day. It’s not the day Jesus went to the Temple preaching God’s Word or the disciples. It’s not a commandment of God.

God tested Adam and Eve over one tree. We are told the devil deceives the whole world. Has anyone considered the Sabbath day could be our test and our second chance?

These are the facts.

1. God blessed and sanctified the seventh day from Creation Genesis 2:1-3
2. God commanded an entire nations to keep holy the seventh day Exodus 20:8 along with the other commandments
3. God not only spoke His holy laws He personally wrote them on stone because of its eternal nature and this is the only scripture in the entire Bible where God personally spoke and wrote scripture. Exodus 34:28
4. God stored the Ten Commandments that He personally wrote in the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy of God’s Temple. God had a Temple on Earth and a has a Temple in Heaven which also has the ark of the covenant and we know what is inside Revelations 11:19
5. God’s will for us is not different on earth as it is in heaven. Read the Lord’s Prayer
6. God’s holy laws are universal and eternal. The first tablet is our moral duty and how we are to love God. The second tablet is how we are to treat and love our neighbor.
7. The Sabbath is the only commandment where God wrote Remember but yet everyone wants us to forget. Doesn’t that seem odd to you? Are all knowing Creator left us another clue for those willing to do His will and not their own. Who do you think really wants us to forgot the holy day of the Lord?
8. In the Bible the day God claims as His holy day is the seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:10, Isaiah 58:13. This cannot be more clearer in scripture. Be honest with yourself- do you think God wants you to worship Him on a day that is Holy to Him or a day He deemed a working day? Exodus 20:9
9. God does not change Malachi 3:6
10. Daniel predicted the 4th commandment would be changed Daniel 7:25. The Sabbath is the only commandment that is both a law (4th commandment) and time (every seventh day) and was changed by man not God. I can provide many references for anyone who is interested about the change of God’s Sabbath. It is outside the Bible and the Institution that changed God’s Sabbath day from Sabbath to Sunday admit they did so without any biblical authority as predicted by Daniel.
11. Jesus came to magnify God’s laws and came to do the will of His Father. Isaiah 42:21. Does magnify mean to make smaller or greater? Jesus did not come to destroy God’s law and not once did Jesus tell us we no longer need to keep the 4th commandment. Instead He kept the Sabbath commandment AS OUR EXAMPLE going to Temple as His custom on the Sabbath reading God’s Word. Luke 4:16, John 15:10
12. We are going to worship our Lord and Savior every Sabbath on the New Earth Isaiah 66:23 not Sunday and we do not have a God of confusion. The Sabbath is mentioned over 170 times in scripture and is the only day God made holy for Him and for us. God said the Sabbath would be a perpetual covenant Exodus 31:16 and we see that fulfilled in Isaiah 66:23. Again God says His will for us is not different in Heaven than it is on earth.

For those fighting against God’s Sabbath so much you really should ask yourself this question. If you do not want to worship our Lord and Savior NOW on the holy day of the Lord thy God will you in Heaven? The day is not changing nor will it ever change. This will not be new for God’s saints who keep the commandments of God and have the faith in Jesus Revelations 22:14

Does Jesus teach the majority will find the narrow path or the wide path that leads to destruction? We all have time TODAY to follow God in Truth and Spirit. Jesus said not to worship in vain by obeying traditions over commandments, There is no commandment for Sunday keeping but there is for Sabbath keeping Exodus 20:8-11. The choice is for us to make do we follow God’s Word or traditions that leads many to break one of the commandments of God and the one commandment God said to REMEMBER.

God bless
