That was part of the bi-partisan bill that was being done, until Trump killed it by telling Republicans not to pass it. Why do something with EO when there's actual legislation being worked out to do it? The EO came after. This timeline of events shouldn't be hard to see.

Why not do something with EO a year or two earlier?

Good. America needs to keep that up.

Most of this is irrelevant and just more orange man bad whinging. And your claim that “The SCOTUS have deemed the President immune from the law” is very misleading.

Better to fix the country of origin and help the many rather than the few.
Are these your personal views?

If we can do everything by executive order, why even bother with having a Congress at all?

-- A2SG, seems inefficient, doesn't it? Gee, wonder if DOGE can look into that....

So whenever you post anything, we should always consider that the views expressed in that post are those of others. And not yours. So if I ask you if you think that women should, generally speaking, be subservient to their husbands in the home and, generally speaking, stay at home and...do whatever you think women should be doing at home, then any answer that you give won't actually be your opinion. It'll be 'the views of other Christians'.

If I use phrases like “some Christians” in regards to a question like I did with yours then it’s in reference to other Christians.

Well, let's clear this up. When you said...
That belief that men are the head would naturally transfer to leadership of the entire country.
...is that your view?

The bill was being formed, with discussion between the parties. Like I said, why do an EO when Congress could, you know, do their job? Why aren't you asking why was the bill killed?

Don’t need to ask, you already told me.

From my research the bill started being formed in late October 2023. People realised there was a crisis at the border long before that.

Here’s an article from all the way in 2021

Why aren’t you asking why Biden didn’t use the EO earlier?

Here is a chart showing the estimated undocumented immigrant population in America.

If I understand you correctly, that little uptick from 10.2 to 10.5 makes you lose sleep, but the long-term trend from 1990 to the high of 12.2 in 2007 is not a big deal. Is that correct?

What country will accept them and welcome them with open arms? Most of them fled their home countries for their lives.

Brazil
China
Panama
Jamaica
India
Costa Rica
Colombia
Honduras
Venezuela and others

This is your list of hospitable countries that are willing and able to help refugees that are fleeing for their lives?

That's odd. Why isn't the United States on that list?

I gave examples of some groups that were victims of violence that you seem to assume conservatives hate to begin with.

If i am a Christian, I understand lgbt etc. as sin yet I am also a sinner ( Romans 3:23) and I trust in our Savior for salvation from sin in general ( Ephesians 2:8-10). I don’t judge individuals ( Matthew 7:1-12), pray & hope for anyone’s salvation ( 1 Timothy 2:1-6, Matthew 9:36-38 etc.) & understand the fear of the Lord & keeping the commandments (Psalm 19:8-9,Psalm 19:1-14, Romans 1:17-32, Romans 13:8-10 etc.),
One thing I’m seeing that’s becoming a big problem amongst Christians is a lack of compassion for illegal immigrants.

I was a child in the 90s. My only concerns were cartoons and school. I didn’t become interested in American politics until around 2015 and by then the chart shows it was on the decline.

That was a loaded question.

They’re the ones taking in illegal immigrants from America.

That's odd. Why isn't the United States on that list?

Because it’s not hospitable according to many on the left.

Got a source for your claim that most illegal immigrants fled their home countries for their lives?

Many immigrants come to the U.S. to escape life-threatening dangers in their home countries.

Examples include:
  • Gang violence in Central America — Many flee El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala due to gang threats. (source)
  • Gender-based violence — Women and LGBTQ+ individuals face abuse and persecution, especially in Central America. (source)
  • Children fleeing violence — Unaccompanied minors escape forced gang recruitment and abuse. (source)
  • Generalized instability — Many flee unsafe conditions, not just personal threats. (source)
U.S. asylum law offers protection for those fleeing persecution due to race, religion, social group, or political opinion. (source)

Wait, what?

The United States is not hospitable; therefore we should not be hospitable?

Why not just make America hospitable again?

America and other countries can help in other ways. You’re asking me like is if I work in government.

No, I am asking you like you said there is something else we can do for struggling people in poor countries besides that which I suggested: financial assistance like USAID and talking to them about civil rights issues.

And somehow, I must be cold-blooded because I do not go along with the "other ways" that you suggest. You absolutely refuse to tell us what your "other ways" are. You just tell us that you have other ways, and those who do not promote these other ways are cold blooded.

I came here to discuss credible arguments for and against the opinions in the opening post. I am not here to discuss nonsense.

I’m sure there are a lot of them fleeing violence, but none of the links you provided prove the claim made that it’s most of them.

U.S. asylum law offers protection for those fleeing persecution due to race, religion, social group, or political opinion. (source)

I’m talking specifically about illegal immigration. Seeking asylum is legal therefore I have no issue with it.

Help reduce or prevent corruption. Help stop criminal gangs and the cartel.
