Perspective means nothing in American politics. I just watched 8 years of hearing how super-secret Muslim Communist Barack HUSEIN Obama was destroying America...sometimes it was as simple as him wearing a tan suit.

Then we elected the guy that appears to all intents to be a Russian tool who can barely string 3 words together without it being a racist slur at some group and I realized: nothing means anything anymore.

By all means, focus on every single tweet AOC makes. Let us all know about it! I mean AS ABSOLUTELY QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!

And if we can get more pictures of her wearing dresses and pick THOSE apart too then it's even better.

Or, maybe we can focus on real issues. I dunno. Nah, it's more fun to track AOC's twitter account.

Yeah, that's far more important than having a guy who made a video on Youtube put in jail over the assault in Benghazi, even though the video had nothing to do with it.

It sounds like you're more interested in critiquing whatever Trump says or does. Would you be more comfortable if we abandon talking about AOC and only talk negatively about Trump?

Just so we're clear: Trump is the President of the United States of America. That makes him the most powerful man on earth. Head of the largest military the planet has ever seen. His actions can trigger global economic meltdowns with just one tweet.

Well, one's a freshman senator who's not even on any committees let alone chairing them, the other is the President of the United States.

Yeah, I can see how you could conflate the two. I'd be more comfortable if you gave equal time to all of the freshman reps in the current congress, otherwise you come off as a desperately deflecting misogynist.

If Trump supporters are attacking her for petty things like her dancing and questioning her rating on a fact-checking site, I hate to see how bad it will be get for her when she's been in her elected position for awhile. She's new to Congress and she needs time to learn the ropes of her elected position.

Her remarks were whiny - but they do highlight the problem with using the number of lies tabulated by Wapo, Politifact, Snopes, et al as any sort of legitimate measure of who is more trustworthy. Those counts are determined entirely by what those sites choose to evaluate.

I say true things all the time - I’d hope most do. When does Politifact choose to rate true statements?

Is this verbiage HONESTLY being compared to an "attack" version of a Trump tweet.
By way of a 1 second google search, it looks like this:
“Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.” @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!"

If you lack the ability to discern impolite or inappropriate social responses, please let me know. If I need to explain the difference between these two "attacks" I'd begrudgingly do so. And I say begrudgingly because it seems like a standard of discernment that any emotionally (relatively) healthy person should be able to distinguish.

Ultimately, I find it UTTERLY, UTTERLY laughable that a fact check on a Democrat is being used as an argument for, LITERALLY anything.

That's because Trump has been a public person with a known track record of activities (some worthy of hatred) going back DECADES.

You may not be very old, but some of us still remember the 80's and even some into the 70's! Trump has been around a long time and he's been known for some...shall we say...questionable behavior before. We could go back to the 1970's when he and his dad were charged by the US government for discriminatory housing practices, or maybe we could look to the time his dad broke gaming laws in order to bail Donald out when one of his casinos went belly up. Or maybe it's the many bankruptcies. Or how about the countless contractors he failed to pay as he shepherded his millions.

Just because you have no sense of history doesn't mean we don't.

She's also on the side of the Trump haters, so she seems to be getting a pass.

She didn't get a pass from me. I've said many times I find it troubling when people say things wrong.

But I see so many on the Right want to give Trump a pass for far, far, far worse actions. Actions that could potentially cost billions of dollars immediately, maybe even threaten people's lives and livelihoods.

But definitely...let's focus on AOC's missteps and make fun of her dresses!

For the record, I was responding to another poster who WAS interested in accusing AOC of being impolite/embarrassing.

If you'd like to talk about how I disagree with Obama on the points he's making, great. And I do. I do disagree with how he made some of those points. But it is undeniable that Trump is absolutely classless next to any democrat and especially Obama.
