I'm not saying we do not get spiritual attacks, I know we do. But Scotty you have faced so much the last few weeks and you are greiving etc. I pray that in real life there be those who will listen, pray, support and encourage you through this time.

I don't see you are in any danger of being lukewarm. Perhaps the opposite, burning yourself out.

Our reward in heaven is friendship with God, everything else is secondary. The parable of ill gotten mammon being wisely spent is a metaphor for spending your time doing things that are appreciated by other people, not necessarily doing religiously prescribed tasks.

Thank you Sister, It has been a battle and I know I will be victorious because God is so wonderful.
I have had three traumatic events happen at the same time. Divorce, something I cant mention here, and Dad. All within one year, Major life changers and many people have said or am saying that I should quit preaching but it just makes me more determined than ever lol.

My opinion is that this happened because of the ministry and the people I encounter and share Jesus with through the jails, prisons and nursing homes. Many VERY lost and hurting people that really need the Word. Just my opinion of course, But I feel like I am in battle.

No friend I am not talking about me being in danger of being lukewarm, I am speaking to the people who are sitting comfortably in their walk with God.
Jesus says He didn't come to bring peace, But division and so we should expect to be persecuted for our faith. [those powers and principalities] Notice how the world is in rebellion against the Word of God.
People are satisfied with the status quo and that to me is sad. There are people who need saved so let's go get em!!

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms

Thank you for sharing this Scripture reference! I needed to read that right now.

Scotty You made it clear that you know how to pray and do spiritual warfare when you told the story of how your prayers made your home go from an atmosphere of darkness and oppression to light, so much so that even a friend noticed the difference.

Just in case it could ever be helpful, I will share another kind of spiritual warfare that has been a very practical help for me. It is praise singing, and as is seen in the Bible. For example David sang to Saul to give him relief from evil spirits. Paul and Silas were singing when they were miraculously released from prison. When Jehoshaphat saw enemy armies, vastly outnumbering his own, coming against Israel, he defeated them without a single weapon. He sent out priests before the armies, carrying the ark, and singing praises to the Lord.

The armies then turned on one another and not one was left alive. Not only that, but they left behind 3 days worth of booty to be collected by the Israelites!

Once I was in a work place where I started to feel sure some people were into the dark side. Sometimes at night I would feel under spiritual attack in different ways. Very uncomfortable. I prayed to know what to do. I was told to hum Christian songs. (Well, I was in bed so singing would have probably kept me too awake.) It worked great! I would have to repeat with further attacks, but eventually no more came.

Honestly I have found both humming and singing to work great. Just sharin'!

I can have a hiatus of a month or two and slowly the devil starts working again. If you are truly born again you should be able to rebuke the demon/devil/Satan in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus for we who are in Christ Jesus and He in us. Never try to remove this on your own but through the power of Jesus Christ.

Ummm, the double minded man comes to mind, living one foot in the world so to speak. Satan dwells there and is able to sneak in through a crack in your armor. Read James 1:8, the Lord gave me this verse for myself a couple of years ago.

I think people should reconsider rebuking the devil. Yes, Messiah did that, but we are never told to do that ourselves.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke you.

I personally can't imagine any circumstance in which I couldn't talk to the Father or His Son rather than to the devil. When I have felt spiritually attacked it has helped me many times to simply say, "Thank You Abba that I know that greater is Yahushua" aka Jesus "Who is in me than he who is in the world." It works fine for me anyway. Every time.

Luke 10:19-20
I have had to learn how to rebuke the devil. Simply praying, or anything else just didn't work for the trials that God allowed. BUT I'm also trained in doing deliverance, so God has taught me how to stand firm in His authority by those trials. That needed some practice. Resisting the devil (or his demons) will make them flee as per James 4:7, but we are definitely allowed to rebuke them if God leads us to it.

Jude 1:9 is about not getting into a personal interaction with the devil or demons, not railing accusations against them, fighting in the flesh or in our pride (which Luke 10:20 also speak of in a sense), it doesn't say that we can't rebuke him in Christ. If we speak from the Holy Spirit, in the authority that Jesus Christ has given us, staying in Christ, then rebuking the spirits is very effective. But it is Him in us, and not ourselves, that is doing the actual commanding, in His Spirit and His Power. We need to stay obedient, keeping our eyes on Christ always.

But if you don't feel led to it, then of course whatever God does lead you to is what you should do.

EMIL Well, if the Holy Spirit leads you to rebuke, then you should rebuke. I am not that familiar with deliverance ministries. I just do what works for me, singing praise songs, as I have said, or saying "Greater is He Who is in me..."

James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

We know this to be truth. I think that was part of the OP angst in the beginning... the devil (or his minion) keeps returning! Sometimes all our energy is spent resisting. I'm not sure that's the way it is supposed to be...submitting to God and resisting the devil in the same action... what does that look like to others?

I pray you will be cautious, though, Scotty. You have such good intentions, but Proverbs tells us to be discrete in evil times. Messiah told us NOT to give what is holy to the dogs and NOT to cast our pearls before the swine. Now some who seem holy are not and some who seem like swine or dogs may be redeemed. How can we ever tell which are which? Well, we usually can't. But the Holy Spirit can. I pray that you, and all of us, will be guided and protected by the Holy Spirit.

I think people should reconsider rebuking the devil. .
Born again believers have the authority to use the name and power of Jesus to send Satan or more likely his minions fleeing ( Satan is not omnipresent, he has forces and demons though, lots of them). We can also just agree with God on matters that are bothering us that may be from the dark side. Just aligning with God is sometimes rebuke enough. I thought in my other post or posts that I made it clear, It is not us rebuking but Jesus Christ..

I once told a power that was in my life that I took as demonic that you have no business with me, I belong to Jesus Christ. That afternoon it was gone. Give no place to this stuff ! But see I'm sometimes not so fast on the uptake ( I'm sure others have found themselves in this boat too) and don't always immediately recognize the evil force as it is, what ever the conditions may be. IE, it looked good but turned out dark. This you may be able to walk away from without a word or it may be a demonic power or even a demon has attached itself to you or your space. It also could be a test of some kind that has been allowed into your life. To pass the test you must stay loyal to the Lord. Maybe we have to be shown that we too are vulnerable and our strength is really in Him... In the end it is all about Jesus Christ.

I agree, but how do I go into jails and prisons and know the difference? I just love on them all and try and help them as best as I can. The ones released will often come to church and try, Some fall away and some are doing great, There is just noway to know, so I give everyone equal treatment and it bites me in the tail oftentimes lol. I had to learn some valuable lessons over the years that, Not everybody is really completely honest, lol
I pray and study the Word as Eph 6 says and ask the Holy Spirits guidance and protection every day, But the evil hasn't been fleeing lately so I hope I haven't done something wrong and I really hope it is as a minister prophesied " a "strengthening process"

Well, if the Holy Spirit leads you to go into jails and prisons, ya gotta go. When He leads He knows good will come of it. And if you are loving on them, you are doing just what He wants.

I'm glad you keep asking for guidance and protection every day, though.

I was just thinking about in reference to your ministry in the prison. My ex-husband is a prison guard. It greatly effected him and our marriage. In prisons there is a concentration of brokenness and evil. It is possible that when you leave you may be bringing a demonic presence out with you with intent to oppress and hinder you. The enemy will do a lot to shut us down when we are trying to serve the Lord, especially if they feel their territory is encroached upon.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I don't read every single response carefully, especially if it has multiple pages of replies.
