but these are very strong srciptures against it..... look at the greek, so how do they fit?? Or is it we got "P" wrong. ???

Read Romans 9.

It is impossible to have single predestination only, here's what'd it look like:

God predestines some to heaven.

He has no clue what will become of those He doesn't predestine.

Will they go to Hell? Maybe. Will they go to heaven? Possibly. Will they all go out for Big Macs? Well that's easiest! Yes, send them there!

Augustine developed double predestination, I think single predestination is just a liberalization of Augustine's position.

What to do about your friends if you're a Calvinist:

pray for them

tell them the Gospel

pray for them

trust in God's sovereignty.

What to do about your friends if you're Arminian (I'm pretty sure, lemme know if I forget something):

pray for them

tell them the Gospel

urge them to repeat after you & chant the 'sinner's prayer'

rejoice in their salvation

wonder why they don't seem to be growing

pray for them

become concerned that they lost their salvation

wish you were more skillfull at speaking, then it might have 'took'.
