• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

[In all they ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.] Prov 3:6

I was working as a cook when another job offer came up.
Fear was effecting my indecision. One one hand working as a cook only paid so much, on the other working as a server, it could get slow.

So I prayed to God for direction, and then listened to my thoughts to see if He would answer it right away. Nothing happened.
So I went through my day, and it came to the evening and I was reading Luke. I read this strange parable of the man that ripped his boss off, and was going to get fired.
After reading it, I thought, what a strange story I bet no one has ever given a sermon on that before.
I finished my reading and turned on the radio. Andrew Wormack came on to give a small sermon. He is my favorite speaker to listen to, and this was the very first time I had heard him on the radio.
He had impacted my life the only two times I heard speak in a semonar, and I was excited to hear him on the radio.

Now this was not even 2 minutes after I got done reading, guess what he gave a sermon on? That very same strange parable!!! Immediatly the Holy Spirit was strong with joy, excitement and some hard to describe feelings.
In that sermon was the answer to my prayer from that morning.
In it God told me that I was a prosperous man, and no matter where I decided to go, I was going to be successfull.
Then God brought to mind all the offers that were coming in my direction, even thou I wasn't looking for them.Over the past month or two I had recieved 3 offers, all had more money involved.
So I made an offer to the cooking job, they turned it down, so I went to the serving job in a fancey resturaunt. It is the best job I have ever had.

The battle is in the mind.

I was on my way to a prayer walk on the other side of town. Just coming from my canceled bible study, I was excited to get there before the group left without me.
I prayed that I would make it in time. I was excited to do some praying, but more so doing it with fellow believers. I am trying real hard to have nothing but christian fellowship in my life, this is taking a long time.
Well my thoughts are being tested off and on while this process is under way. I know I it will happen deep down, but the flesh and the devil trys to discourage me the other way.
This was one of those ways.

So I am driving, and negotive thoughts are coming against me left and right the whole time I am driving. Only once did a break come from God, He said, "You will make it, because they are getting something to drink."
The peace of God came over me, but immediatly after that, negotive thoughts came on me, robbing me of my peace. I kept on shooting the negotive thougts down, but the kept coming and coming. Trying to get me to turn back home, saying I am wasting my time, they already left you behind.
The group didn't expect me, because they knew I had a bible study I hosted.

Well I made it with a few minutes to spare, and I shouted with joy in my heart.

Another battle story.

This was this morning while I was lifting weights.
I told you how me and my partner received healings in our knees.
Well just because they are doesn't mean the devil gives up in that area.
It used to be that doing any kind of bending, would cause my knee to click. This made doing leg presses impossible with any weight. Leg extensions just caused unbearable pain.
So I lifted two times since the healing, both with very very lite weight.
It was time to move up in weight.

My thoughts started to bug me saying, "your not healed, its going to hurt"
I started on the leg extensions, and slapped on some serious weight.
Everything went fine, but my thougts still attacked me.
Finally the major test came on the leg exstensions.
The very same second that I touched the machine, the most beautiful and courage building song(at this time in my life) came on. I knew it was God, giving me some relief from my trial.
It worked, I did more than 3 times the weight as before without so much as a pinch of pain.

The song is called "I hope you dance" ( I think, and I don't know the singer).
The chorus verse is , "when you get a chance to sit it out, or dance.... I hope you Dancccceee!!!.

Its about taking chances that are worth taking.Awesome, awesome song!

Pray for your internet.

I am sitting here trying to get on all day long at the library, well off and on.
Except for this morning I couldn't get on, so I prayed that I could get on this forum, and within seconds I was on.
I surfed this forum and wanted to go play some chess, I tried and tried. I can't get anywhere else on this internet.

I am looking around and noone else is on the internet, there all trying to get on, and can't. But yet for some strang reason I am the only one that can get on, and this is the only site I can get.

A little prayer.

This may be little, but I believe it is the little ones that prepare your faith for the big prayers in your life.

I have been lazy, at work, eating, and possibly other areas of my life.
So I confessed it to the Lord, and basicly prayed for Him to change me on the inside.
My cars battery is dead, today I will get a new one, but last night was to late. I have a work out program at 7am with my workout partner. I never want to let him down, but my car was down.

So I planed on useing my rollerblades to get to the gym which is about 3 miles away. Not a big deal, but I knew that I was going to have a rough time getting up in the morning to do it. So I asked God for some help in this matter.
This morning I woke up 10 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off, and couldn't go back to sleep.

Yesturday a coworker was in alot of pain in her bladder area she said.
So I offered some prayer for her, when I started she latched onto me very tight. I knew from this that she was in alot of pain.
Within minutes she was much better, and today she said it worked, she was better.
Thank Jesus for answered prayers.

Healthy Lifesyle

I prayed for myself, and confessed to two different bible studies this week.
One on Wed, and the other last night.
I confessed to being lazy at work and at home, I eat junk food all the time and I wanted to get God to help me in this area.

Well this morning at the gym, this lady that I have never met came up to me and asked if I wanted to be apart of her ministry that she was doing one day a week.
She called it a health ministry, or something like that. Her fiance died of cancer and she feels lead to start a ministry for healthy living. Which includes healthy thinking, eating, and workout programs. It is a 6 week program that she is about to start.

Now I have never met this woman, she doesn't know me nor does she know that I have prayed for the issue of healthy lifestyle. She didn't goto any other person in the gym, only me with this news.

Now how awesome is that!! :)

"I don't feel like praying."

Most of the time when there is something to pray about, I don't feel like praying.
Some people believe that you need to be lead by the spirit to pray. I often wonder if they mean, when they feel like it, or perhaps they get a word to do it.
Now the Spirit can and will lead you at times, but that is not the only time to pray, as in this example here.

I was staying at my brothers house for awhile, because I needed some help.
I don't want to get into a real long drawn out story, so I will just cut the fat out of it.
I just turned off the lights in the living room to get some sleep, at midnight, when his wife came in with her two oldest kids, to watch a movie on a surround sound screen.
Now I was laying in the living room, when she did this. She did it on perpose to make me mad.
So I laid there trying to sleep, and even more so trying to stop bad negotive thoughts from coming into my head.
Neither were working, so after about 10 minutes of that, I decided to pray.
Now I didn't feel like praying, I felt like smacking someone, :) .
I prayed for God to help me somehow.
Within a minute maybe sooner, God started to talk to me about the situation. He explained it perfect, and a peace came over me.
He talked to me, with an awesome sermon inside of my thoughts.

Well after hearing that sermon, I was pumped up and feeling real good.
I decided to do some reading, before I knew it the movie was over and they went to bed.
I kept on reading for 20 more minutes after they went to bed, before I turned in.
And all because I stepped out in faith on what the word of God says, instead of going on my feelings, and what they tell me.
This was a couple of years ago.

Another "I don't feel like praying"

I was on this forum when I was feeling like switching over to some internet porn. In my weakened state I asked God for some help because I am weak and I am going to fall. The very second I clicked over to the site, someone came knocking on the door, and I never got a chance to go back online that night.

Jesus said, " Keep watching and praying, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matt 26:41

SUNSTONE,

Bless you for your confessions,
When we confess to the Lord our weakness.. he sends us strenght in the least expected way. He is so Good to us. Many of us think we can handle our daily lives without his help. I know I myself am scared to death to leave him out of my life for one second because I KNOW that I will fall.

You are in my prayer..

Buggy

Thanx Buggyman, and thank the Lord for His wonderful wisdom.

Lazyness at work.

I was being lazy at work, going in a few minutes late, falling behing, going home early, just being lazy. Also I had bad eating habits, eating nothing but junkfood all the time.
So I decided to do something about them both, I prayed and confessed them to 3 bible groups and this is the result...

For the next month one thought kept on going on in my mind, "Don't be apart of the problem, be apart of the solution". My boss told me that once, and it was now apart of my thinking, my thinking influeced my actions, and by the end of the month, half of my fellow workers were praising me for my hard work.
Saying "He is now one of the strongest workers we have".
I give God the credit, and just last week, a couple came to me and asked about going to my church. And these are unsaved people!

I still have sin issues that keep poping up, I am still not worthy, not even close, more times than not I pray and don't expect it to get answered. I am still lazy in my walk with Christ, but I don't stay that way I keep getting back up and dusting myself off. I then get back in the fight.

God has done His part, its time we do ours.

Strange that whenever someone asks me about my most memorable answered prayer, this comes to mind:

When I was a 17, I lived in Banksville PA, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh. I was just recently saved. I had an after school job at South Hills Village Mall, which is about 5 miles away. I would walk about a half mile to the bus stop every day. I did not mind the walk, and in fact did walk on weekends and during the summer. But if I walked on schooldays after school, I would be late for work. On this particular day, for some reason I had either forgotten or just did not have the 35 cents for the bus fair! It was a winter day with snow. Without really thinking about it, I whispered a prayer under my breath for the 35 cents. I did not take five steps further when down in the snow I saw one of those little rubber change purses. In it was enough money for the bus fair, and a hot chocolate to boot.

I have had greater answered prayers. Things like healings and jobs and houses etc... But this one sticks in my mind most "tenderly". He cares about a kid walking to work in the snow.
