CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My first order of business this new year is to thank God for answering my prayers for my cousin who has terminal prostate cancer.
I made a prayer request November of 2008: http://www.christianforums.com/t7309595/
I wanted my cousin to have a year to do the things he wanted to do before he dies. My cousin was told he was going to die in January of 2009. I asked God every day for my cousin to have 2009 on earth before going to heaven. God did give him it, and I joyously thank God for answering my prayers.

I Thank You Lord That We Are All Still Alive And In Reasonable Good Health. I Thank You For Providing For Us Day By Day And I Thank You For Our Jobs. Lord May You Bless All People Who Are In Darkness But Will Come To See The Light. And I Also Thank You For The Lady Who Is Mentally Ill And Has Three Children As She Will Come Out Of This Dilemna Just Fine.

I'm new here but was lead by the lord to share my story and how he blessed me and answered my prayers. I just wanted to say that GOD our Lord jesus is REAL and still listens to all his children prayers. He answered mine and I'm soooooooo thankful to him for it in every way possible. I didn't know how i was gonna make it , but I DID and now i'm living proof that he is who he say he is...GOD!!!!!!! I love him and thank him and honor him all the days of my life. May I pray that all your prayers are answered and that you stay believing in his name and his power!

I just want to thank God for my answering my prayers and also those that prayed for me on this board. My story begins around August 2006, when I was accepted to the Radiation Therapy program and I had to postpone it because I was trying to save money and I went to a school committee to get a petition to postpone it and they approved it. In 2007, I applied for it again and the woman in the front desk told me they are going by GPA and since mine is not great, I have to wait until next year even though I got a letter saying that I can go to the program that year. I was upset so I prayed and said Lord if you want me to do this please have them call me back. Within an hour, I got the call back saying you got in. YAY
Another time was I finished school and it was time to take the test. It was hard, so hard that I failed twice and my scores were 72, and 73 and the passing score is 75%, I was so close. As state regulations you are only allowed 3 attempts and if you failed that you are allowed a 4th time but it has to be approved by them. I was suicidal at this time because I love this career so much and I didn't want to fail again, so I asked for prayers on here =) I passed my 3rd time with an 82%. Woo Hoo
Now I'm waiting for a job, and I'm stressing out but God brought me this far so hopefully there is something for me soon. God Bless

Lord god, I pray that anybody that reads this will know that they are not alone in the christian walk, and that even though I do not know them, they are my brother, they are my sister, they are a fellow christian and I love them as you do!

That isnt quite how it works. Prayer is different for everyone, but basically it is talking to God. When we pray, God doesnt just give us exactly what we want, and when we want it, we still have to put in our share of the work. But because God loves us, he blesses us
Its no coincidence that you have come onto this website and left that precise comment, and I pray that you can see the purpose behind what happens, and see the Lord for the loving father that he is God Bless you!

After being unemployed for nearly a year, losing my wife because I didn't have a job, and a hopeless job search that was just a waste of tons of effort and lots and lots of prayer... A friend helped me with a little investment to start my own business and I'm doing GREAT. I've already made enough money to pay him back 3 times. Its only been a month or so, but its just working out so well.
I don't know what exactly the future will bring, but I will not lose faith and am very thankful for this month and my future to come. I never would have done this if I had gotten a job, so as much as I dispaired in looking for a job, and not finding one, that is exactly what has brought me to this point.
I hope people out there continue to be thankful even when things are desparate because sometimes we need the desparate moment to change our lives for the better.
I don't know what exactly the future will bring, but I will not lose faith and am very thankful for this month and my future to come. I never would have done this if I had gotten a job, so as much as I dispaired in looking for a job, and not finding one, that is exactly what has brought me to this point.
