Another Argument Against Flat Earth

In US Land surveys, townships are about 36 square miles. Each square mile is called a section. If you look at section boundary plats, you will find that the southern boundary is wider than the northern boundary. This is because corrections have to be made for the convergence of the meridians.

If the earth were flat, why aren't these sections perfectly square?

Nobody can prove a globe Steve. If somebody could, the would. You didn't just suddenly find the one bit of evidence that "proves the globe". What else you got?

Go to Australia, or South Africa, or South America.
Go outside on a clear night.
Point to Polaris, or Ursa Major, or Cassiopeia.

Go to somewhere in North America or Europe.
Go outside on a clear night.
Point to the Southern Cross.

OTOH, flat-earthers have fallen in love with bad logic and selective evidence. Example: all photographs are now photoshopped, altered, rendered, CGI and cartoonish. Arguments are dismissed with a wave of the flat hand, guided by a flat mind.

Maybe I'd be more charitable to the flat earthers if they actually bothered trying to address the problems people brought up with their model instead of deflecting it to 'prove the globe', 'show me the curve', and all the other red herrings they default to whenever they are asked a question they can't answer.

If Earth is 100% a globe , 100% spinning on its axis, and 100% orbiting around the Sun, and the evidence for this is overwhelming, why is there even a debate?

Furthermore, if it's so ridiculous to question or even disagree with these obvious facts, why would those who do believe in them even care what a few hundred, thousand, or million, misguided loonies spend their time researching and discussing?

If the globe, its spin, and its orbit around the Sun are indisputable facts, surely any person with average intelligence will eventually come to conclude the same, given enough time, exploration, experimentation, and research?

Do you assume that every person who questions these three facts is intellectually challenged? Mentally ill? Do you consider every one of them incapable of coming to a correct conclusion?

Truth doesn't fear investigation and neither do those telling it. Liars on the other hand? They fear it a great deal.

I think it's brave for a person to stand up for what they believe in, especially when they are persecuted by the crowd for doing so.
