Please post any Scripture passages that you think prove that Annihilationism is untrue in this thread.

Let's discuss them. I have only one other request, please be polite when you post here, I've had a lot of bad experiences with people who think that God plans to have the unrepentant tortured alive in hell.

What the heck, I think I'll add a poll.
Mark 9:44
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

Mark 9:46
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

Mark 9:48
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

Matt 8:12
12 And the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matt 22:13
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot: take him away, and cast him into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matt 25:30
30 Cast therefore that unprofitable servant into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The worm and fire have eternal life! The one cast into the LOF does not have eternal life!
You contradicted yourself. If the worm never dies then you need to reevaluate your claim.

being tortured for ever, eternally, without an end or outcome, without a purpose, while the saved are in a good place with God, praising Him.

The word is torment.
Like how you are tormented

if you fail to do the right thing
and others suffer your neglect.

That's true.Okay, but like torture though, maybe... ;)Tormented by conscience?
That doesn't sound like gnashing of teeth (anger) though..

That's exactly what it sounds like to me.
Torture is not known to make people angry.

What, like anger or like torment by conscience?

Both are not part of external torture.
They are more common in a jury
deliberating room. Been there.
It's like a special bad Hell.

no, but anger is a symptom of it.
Hating God and his Judgement upon the angry.

It's people judging themselves when the lights get turned
up that is painful. Then they see what they have done in
the dark and get mad about having the lights turned on.
Then they are sitting in the Hot Seat. Sitting in the Hot
Seat, is Hell.

Please look up "eternal" and "torment". You would not believe the Scriptures anyhow.
No, I actually do believe the Bible. Which verses do you have iin mind? Why don't you look up " wages" and "death"? Will you accept what scripture says if it disagrees with eternal conscious torment? Let's look and see instead of making baseless assumptions about motives.

Well you finally found the right place to discuss this issue.

Ive never believed in Hell, just life or death. When compared to what us sons of God are and can become, it is truly hellish to consider what one is giving up when they embrace eternal death.

It's always been a matter of common sense that a Loving Father would never conceive of such a thing as an eternal, conscious, torture chamber.
I've always known that this where they WANT discussion about the wage of sin to go. I just never really cared about their wishes. The truth is more important.

Timothew,

It would probably be a good idea to sue the terms Hades and Gehenna rather than Hell as many confuse these terms.

I see these passages about the worm not dying posted to try to prove ECT. The worm refers to maggots. What does that have to do with people? I'm actually in another discussion about "outer darkness." Where do you see an indication that "outer darkenss" is "Hell" and that it is eternal conscious torment?

I think that's mainly caused by the KJV rendition.

I agree! The KJV translates three different locations as Hell and quite a few people don't realize this.
I think it also explains why people use "inferno" to mean fire, while it really means underworld.
The word 'inferior' has the same root, but is used accurately.

There seems to be quite a few words that are mistranslated or misunderstood.

So much for KJV-only-ism..
Which is a pity though i.m.o.
If you want to be sure, you'll have to verify with the Greek and Hebrew texts, or look for people who are good at that.
The internet is a good thing though, even youtube.
I'd be lost in doubts without it...
