I think those gender constructs pretty much reflect the different sexes; a 'distinction without a difference'.

They reflect the sexes but there is nothing about gender constructs which inherently arises from our biology, is the point. So there is a very great difference, because they are arbitrary social constructs which are open to change and improvement.

The Proverbs 31 woman had developed her abilities and responsibilities as a wife and mother, not her 'gifts'.

a) She was a lot more than a wife and mother. Successful businesswoman, manager of a large staff, etc etc.

b) There is nothing in the text to tell us what her gifts were, but it would be strange to think that she had not developed them in the course of her work.

Most people never develop their special talents as their time is taken up by their responsibilities.

Ideally, we would be able to use our gifts in service to our responsibilities (or align which responsibilities we commit ourselves to, with our gifts and vocation).

not being lazy AKA dutifulness is a common trait of Republicans and so of course he must be appealing to Republicans in order to be elected. The high rank of president means very high competition and therefore they will use every single trick in their book to win. There is plenty of psychological tricks that go on in politics.

Actually, that was the President of Finland, an example of the Finnish kind of 'ideal 'masculinity. Our president was also snapped outside the Helsinki Women's Clinic taking his new born baby home just like any Finnish dad. The Helsinki Woman's Clinic is a public hospital that has served all Helsinki area women and babies regardless of socio-economic status since 1934. The point is, we don't share the American values, we don't elect millionaires as presidents to represent us and we don't have a Parliament half full of the 1%-ers to write our legislation.

Of course I do not know your nation. Human nature doesn't change just because the Nation changes.

It is either that the person you speak of is being real and good or he's being false. Most likely he is a mix of Good and Evil like most humans are. when he's good he's being authentic and loving. when he is being evil he's being deceptive and mostly trying to use people for his own gain.

obviously you would favor your own Nation. every single person that has a decent Nation favors their Nation, because the egos sense of self often includes a person's Nation. It is also common for humans to have enemies that they hate. therefore it is important for them to have enemies to not be like. And you can feel good about yourself because you're so great and the enemies are so bad.

Of course it is sane to think that some beings are better and some are worse and therefore some Nations could be seen as better and others worse.

It seems to me that her gifts were fully revealed in the story.

That how I use my gifts...to enhance my work.

It seems that sexuality is a 'social construct' these days.

Some of it is, of course.

If you'd prefer all of human behavior be only guided by biology, thats like preferring we were earthworms.

Human behavior is guided by nature and culture.
Earthworm behavior by nature only, as far as we can tell.

Preferring human behavior be guided only by nature is like wanting to reduce humans to some really "lower" life form.

Not in that sense. They’re nonfiction titles meant to tackle sexual topics for women as a result of 50 Shades and increases in pornography use. Few know how to cover the subject. The writing seems stilted and repressed.

Ahh...I see. That makes sense.

Why do you consider him overly masculine?

Just compared to other men.

I’ve seen similar examples growing up. My grandfather was very affectionate and emotionally balanced. He was secure in his manhood.

I was lucky to have the father I did.

I think the problem is many want him to display his need in the manner they’re most familiar with. Namely other women. Most men will never behave that way.

I'm a bit confused about what you're saying here.

Sorry. :)

My earliest recollection of desiring men to emote as women occurred through Oprah’s show. Before it ended I polled random men of varying ages and ethnicities with my daughter beside me.

I asked them if they had Oprah moments. Every one I asked said no. Many went on to share their communication style and the frustration they felt when society expected otherwise.

It was for her edification. I was dispelling the myths that were being promoted about the opposite sex. We had many situations like that. Having their input was instrumental in preventing her from embracing errant ideas about her sex and theirs.

You've identified the problem thoroughly. Now, how do we deal with our anger in a constructive way?

Your take a fair and balanced approach.

The problems have been identified extensively and lengthily. I am now interested to see possible solutions to our anger surrounding this issue.

I don’t blame you. One of the reasons I’ll consider a prospect from a forum (and never used dating sites) was the ability to see their mind at work. Not only in our discourse. But how they related to others.

Anger and combativeness usually seep out. As do negative stereotypes and an inability to embrace differences of opinion peacefully.

When I contemplate spending my life with someone, there are certain traits which contribute to happy endings and others that make life a living hell.

I’m clear about the failings I can live with and the ones I would never accept.
That seems a very wise approach.
I had never thought of using a discussion board in that manner.

Women shouldn't do hard physical work. It's unbecoming.
Shulamite did hard physical work. And she is arguably the most "becoming" woman in the bible.

Thank you. They’re an excellent way to see a person’s growth and their struggles. Someone I once engaged with on a different site read all my posts. He posed questions and commented on the things I’d written in our discourse.

The majority don’t view discussion boards in that light. As a result, their expressions are less constructed and closer to the truth than a dating profile would ever reveal.

You get a comfy glimpse beneath the hood. ;-)

What are the root causes of male disenfranchisement? How do we help them manage their anger in a healthy way? How have you tackled this within yourself or with others?

I get it. And I understand exactly how that would work. The relative anonymity of the internet discussion board tends to make most take down some or most of their internal filters.

Clever! Catching them with their pants down (metaphorically) without them knowing you are watching.

"but if you don't believe me, look no further than the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey."

That book was very popular in secular and religious circles. Christian women devoured it. I’ve read it.
That’s correct. Digital devices have made it possible for women to consume books no one knows they’re reading. The Christian responses to The 50 Shades phenomenon was the result of hearing many discuss the book. They read it on their Kindle and similar devices.

The authors had to confront some uncomfortable truths. Blaming James doesn’t alter the reality they were devouring romance novels and Amish ones too. The latter are termed ‘bodice rippers’ in the industry.
Perhaps this is best put in another thread; but the discussion has already happened here.

I have read some of those "50 Shades" responses and they are overwhelmingly condemning. It was like they were completely caught off guard by Christian women being interested in that stuff. (erotic literature or film) It was known in the secular world that "romance novels" sold well for a while. (until they became too formulaic)

The idea of married Christian women wanting to become aroused by someone OTHER than their husband; (and make no mistake, Ms James stated she wanted women to be driven mad with arousal from her books) or even worse, single Christian women getting worked up with no spouse to relieve that, was beyond incomprehensible for them. It shattered their paper mache' world view that had men as the porn consuming lust filled perverts that needed the non sexual women in their lives to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Life suddenly got incredibly more complicated.
