I thought these women are not allowed to go out in public without a male guardian. Hypocrisy much?

I'm not getting into a debate, but I just wanted to correct you.

Women cannot travel alone the distance one would get by traveling for 1 day & 1 night (some say 3 nights) unless (and these are different opinions): she can be assured that it's safe for her, she travels with a male guardian, or she is with a group of trustworthy women.

As for going in front of the military in the case of these women, well, sometimes a woman may have no choice but to fight/protest. Some female companions of the Prophet participated in battles (beyond tending to the wounded).

Hey, here's another one for ya to make you uncomfortable/angry that religious-looking Muslim women are not fitting in with your stereotype:

It was my understanding that the war was on the non islamists and not the islamists?

Guess it depends on the narrative. The Western narrative says that, sure. But there is lots of proof to say otherwise.

This military coup is one of the more recent proofs of that (since the secularists/liberals, i.e. the non-"Islamists", in Egypt just couldn't stand the idea of an "Islamist" president elected democratically.....so they ditched the whole "democracy" concept that they had been so insistent on in favor of using the military to take down the democratically elected president). It is but a repeat of the democratically elected "Islamists" being taken down by the military in Algeria (which caused a war to erupt). When democratically elected "Islamists" won in Palestine, they were declared a terrorist organization. Convenient, no?

I think it's better that you correct the Saudi and Afghan Muslim men on this misunderstanding. Many Muslim women died needlessly over this misunderstanding.

Why should I be uncomfortable/angry at this picture? I would think Islamist men are more angry at this picture than a non-Islamophile.

Without a male guardian insight and what's she holding? Isn't that idolatry?

Your faith has been questioned over and over and over again, and yet I find it hard to believe you would promote it on a Christian website. Do I need to complain?

I wasn't raised Muslim anyway, I think I was raised Baptist.

Sorry to call you out.

A religion that says its ok to beat your wives and commit suicide for the sake of allah, is not only threatening but it is also insane.

You are crazy of you want to kill yourself. Think of all you have to live for.

Do I look like I am laughing?

In Christianity, you are taught that if they reject your faith all you are supposed to do is dust your robe off and leave...
The mods controlling CWR don't care to censor these threads anymore. Not that I read any of this one-sided garbage anyways; its not my fight. Notice only one discriminating view is presented in this thread and they are fighting words, her gun is locked and loaded. I only pray the US govt is not foolish enough to relocate more of these nuts into the US.

This is hate propaganda uncensored on CWR. Congrats CF, could you go any lower. How many times have I suggested banning muslims from this forum?

It was my understanding that the war was on the non islamists and not the islamists?

I needed that.

Trapped: The mob gather around the young men as the fourth teen manages to climb onto to ledge, and they begin throwing rocks at them to get them down

After both sides traded insults, the mob forced the boys on to a roof in the city’s Sidi Jaber district.
The video, apparently filmed with a mobile phone from across the road, shows them cowering from supporters of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood during protests on Friday.
As the teenagers huddle on top of the 20ft ledge, the mob begin throwing rocks at them and attempt to climb after them.
One bearded thug is seen carrying a black and white Al Qaeda flag.
Shortly after, three of the boys are thrown off the fifth-floor ledge and beaten as they lie on the ground

The Brotherhood has spawned branches across the globe. These organizations bear the Brotherhood name, but their connections to the founding group vary. In addition, some of the world's most dangerous terrorists were once Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood members, including Osama bin Laden's top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

But Ed Husain, a senior fellow at CFR, says it is wrong to make the Muslim Brotherhood "responsible for the actions of all of its intellectual offspring." Since 9/11, prominent members of the Brotherhood have renounced violence publicly and tried to distance themselves from al-Qaeda's violent practices. The Brotherhood's foray into electoral politics has also widened the schism between it and groups like al-Qaeda. Zawahiri had been openly critical of the Brotherhood's participation in the 2005 parliamentary elections.

But like other mass social movements, Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is hardly a monolith; it comprises hardliners, reformers, and centrists, says terrorism expert Lydia Khalil. And some hardline leaders have voiced support for al-Qaeda or use of violent jihad. For instance, as recently as 2006, Khalil points out, a member of the Brotherhood elected to parliament, Ragib Hilal Hamida, voiced support for terrorism in the face of Western occupation.

Army to Morsi: With Blood We Swear to Defend Egypt Against any Terrorist, Extremist or Fool

July 3, 2013
Cairo (CNN) — Egypt’s military leaders declared Wednesday the army “will sacrifice our blood” to defend the country just hours after President Mohamed Morsy refused to bow to their ultimatum that he find a solution to the deadly unrest sweeping the country or be pushed aside.
The statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces came as the clock ticked on the military’s plan to suspend Egypt’s constitution, dissolve the Islamist-led parliament and sideline the president, if Morsy does not find a way to end the unrest, military sources told Arab media and Reuters.
“We swear by God that we are ready to sacrifice our blood for Egypt and its people against any terrorist, extremist or fool,” said the statement, which was titled “The Final Hours.”
The military has given Morsy until 4 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET ) to come up with a power-sharing agreement or face a military solution, the sources said.
Morsy refused to bow to the ultimatum, setting the stage for a possible showdown.
In a televised speech late Tuesday, Morsy declared he was elected president in balloting that was free and representative of the will of the people.
“The people of Egypt gave me the mandate for president. They chose me in a free election. The people created a constitution which requires me to stay with the constitution,” he said. “I have no choice but to bear responsibility for the Egyptian constitution.”
The conflict pits Morsy’s supporters — the Muslim Brotherhood — against an opposition angered by what they say is the president’s failure to take steps to improve conditions more than two years after a popular revolution that ousted Hosni Mubarak. Egypt at 'dangerous stalemate' in political crisis
By Shadia Nasralla and Angus MacSwan

CAIRO | Wed Aug 7, 2013 5:40pm EDT
(Reuters) - Egypt's political crisis entered a tense phase on Wednesday after international mediation efforts collapsed and the army-installed government repeated its threat to take action against supporters of deposed President Mohamed Mursi.
Both sides called their supporters on to the streets on Thursday, while Mursi supporters in two protest camps in Cairo strengthened sandbag-and-brick barricades in readiness for any action by security forces.
Acting President Adli Mansour, in a message on the eve of the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday, said Egypt was in critical circumstances. The interim government would press on with its own plan to hold new elections in nine months, he said.
"The train of the future has departed, and everyone must realize the moment and catch up with it, and whoever fails to realize this moment must take responsibility for their decision," he said.
Interim Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi said the government's decision to dismantle the protest camps was final and its patience had nearly expired.
Beblawi accused protesters of inciting violence, blocking roads and detaining citizens
, and he warned that any further violence would be met "with utmost force and decisiveness."
People should leave the camps now, Beblawi said.

Muslim Brotherhood accused of using children as pawns
Some pro-Mursi supporters have said they are ready to offer their children as ‘martyrs’

By Ayman Sharaf, Special to Gulf NewsPublished: 14:19 August 8, 2013

Now, in the Raba’a Al Adawiya sit-ins, Islamist supporters of ousted President Mohammad Mursi are doing the same — but with a twist.
“Mothers say they know their children could be in harm’s way but they believe their cause is worth fighting and dying for,” according to Wael Khalil, a veteran activist who advocated for the ouster of Mursi and of Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
More shocking was footage that has emerged of Egyptian children being dressed in white “death shrouds” in preparation for their “martyrdom” by pro-Mursi families in a large demonstration at Raba’a Al Adawiya last week.
The children were heard chanting pre-rehearsed lines and were seen carrying posters that read “I am ready to [become a] martyr!”
during a short march.
“As I saw the face of a five-year-old carrying his coffin and innocently smiling out of happiness because he’s participating along with other children in a big game, I felt disgusted. These people are willing to murder children in order to make political gains,” said Azza Al Ashmawi, director of the Child Anti-Trafficking Unit at the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood NCCM.
“This is a cruel picture that the Brotherhood thought would help them gain global sympathy as the world watches”, Azza added.
“We are willing to offer more martyrs to our cause. We will not hesitate to sacrifice our children as martyrs in order to restore Egypt’s Mohammad Mursi,” said a female Brotherhood leader during the funerals of three women who were killed in a protest in Al Mansoura last month.
Azza considered these children’s parents as either brainwashed by the Brotherhood’s leadership or convinced that their children will go to heaven or paid for allowing their children to participate in the protest.
More dangerous is that some orphanages affiliated to the Brotherhood involved orphans in this battle, according to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry two days before. The statement accused the Brotherhood of committing a criminal violation of human rights.
“Although they are the ones pushing them to the front rows of clashes, the Brotherhood aims to exploit the injury of children and market it to the world public opinion as an aggression against children,” the statement reads.
Witnesses confirm that Raba’a Al Adawiya’s protesters are exploiting children, using them to collect and break rocks in order to use them in clashes against the army, the police and their opponents.

Actually, I have a lot of respect for Bassem Youssef. He spoke out against both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian military. He has proven that he isn't a person who makes friends with people who beat and shoot demonstrators in the streets- on either side. The Egyptian military has far more blood on its hands than Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood did, but during Morsi's short time in office, the police did gun down his opponents at some rallies against him.

Bassem Youssef poked fun both of him and the military, and he faced harassment from them both. When you are hated and censored by opposing sides who are both committing abuses, you know you are doing a good job.

He took a very simple jab at Sisi while he extensively made fun of Morsi. One got him pulled off the air immediately, the other did not. He supported the coup, but not the democratically elected official.

I have absolutely zero respect for him and have to admit that I laughed when I learned about his show being pulled off the air.

This was the slight that got his show canceled:

"Sisi has turned into ... chocolate!" said Youssef, joking about the chocolate bars that have been molded into the defense minister's likeness in confectionary stores.

Youssef's criticism of Sisi was mild in comparison to the jokes he has aimed at Morsi, Egypt's first democratically-elected president.
After poking fun at army chief, Egypt pulls satirist Bassem Youssef off airwaves | JPost | Israel News

"After the coup which removed Morsi, a number of media channels were immediately closed down under the justification that they were inciting violence, including the branch of Al-Jazeera Egypt along with numerous other satellite stations connection to Islamic movements and personalities. Given his own recent history and liberal politics, it could be considered surprising that Youssef was supportive of the media clampdown which included the arrests of several employees of the various stations, despite it being carried out by the military with no due process.

His public pronouncements on Twitter (where he has more than 1.7 million followers) since 3 July include stating that "The MB regime was about to close down channels and target media and politicians" (it should be noted that the vast majority of independent Egyptian satellite channels are funded by secular and liberal opposition), "Instead of writing numerous tweets here's one to sum it all up MB are the new form of Nazis got it? I said it on the show and saying it now" and on 5 July that "MB leadership sending its youths to die at army HQs to victimize themselves against the world. Blood for publicity. Cheap. #not_a_coup." Having indulged in both apologism and victim-blaming, he made no comment other than "Kifaya" (enough) after the killing of more than 50 protestors in front of the Republican Guard headquarters who were gunned down by the army on the morning of 7 July."
Egypt: Liberal Hypocrisy No Laughing Matter

Anyways, I'm not going to get into a debate with the rest of your post. I obviously do not believe all the lies against Morsi since, as I have demonstrated, the military & the pro-coup side lie endlessly. And Morsi's biggest fault, as I said last time we debated on this issue, is that he didn't get rid of Hosni Mubarak's people (in the judicial branch as well as the military & police) who are the same people who removed Morsi from office by force. But you do believe in much of what the military/the pro-coup side has said. As you said in your first post on this thread, you know where I stand, I know where you stand.

I think we will have to agree to disagree. Bassem Youssef should have done more to condemn the coup and the crimes it committed, I agree. Although by mocking the support for the military by some people, he obviously was challenging people those who are behind Sissi to think and question their stance.
I think that by labeling the new government as "pharaohs" and describing support for it as "fascism", he also spoke out against it. This was the first episode he put on since the coup on his tv station. We have no idea how much more he would have said had he not been shut down.

Taking on a more serious tone at the end of the episode, Youssef – who was called in by Morsi-appointed general prosecutor Talaat Abdullah during Morsi's tenure on charges of insulting the president – stated "I am not with the [Islamists], who attacked us and declared us apostates ... and publicly called for our imprisonment."
"At the same time, I am not with hypocrisy, deification of individuals and creation of pharaohs," he went on. "We are afraid that fascism in the name of religion will be replaced with fascism in the name of nationalism," Youssef added, expressing concern over the possible suppression of free media during the transitional period.

This is not the first time for CBC to suspend Youssef's show. In 2012, the channel suspended the first season's second episode, during which Youssef made fun of both famous CBC presenters as well as then-president Mohamed Morsi. Youssef later broadcasted the episode on YouTube.

Interestingly, Bassem Youssef's show was shut down under Morsi also.

I think we agree on more than we disagree. I believe that the military's crimes and the bloodshed it perpetrates are far more massive than the killings of some demonstrators under Morsi. I condemn them and have written letters to my leaders urging them to cut off support for the junta. You have condemned burnings of the churches in Egypt as well as attacks on Christians there, which I appreciate and respect you doing.

I do not believe the Muslim Brotherhood are as evil as portrayed by the murderous junta and its supporters. I also do not believe they are as innocent as you portray them to be.

what's in your mind?
why this "kufar/infidel" men not raped the women who consider expose their "private parts/awrah"?

the key is "muslims permitted to do such thing", instead of behave themselves and control their own passion and desire, they would like to cover and blame the object...

VERY VALID POINT.. thanks for this
