  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And what if Jesus was black?

As another poster said, where are the sources? And I wasn't aware they had found bones belonging to Jesus. Anyway Jesus ascended to heaven you know? No Body, no bones.
If they found his bones that means Christ was not the son of god and it doesn't matter anyway does it? It doesn't actually matter what his race was anyway, I'll talk about that at the end of the article.

Even if someone has claimed that they have found Jesus' bones, I don't know how they could prove it was jesus after 2000 years.

As I said I haven't heard about them finding his bones, this sounds like a simple lie to me.
Right at the start this destroys any possiblity that the article has any truth in it at all, but let's continue to analyse it.

"This Statements That Are Being Said Are Not Racist Especially When It Is Caucasians Who Are Finding These Facts"

"It was caucaians who uncovered this information and made it public , therefore it Cannot Be Taken As Racism"

"Now That White People Are Finally Admitting That Yashua , Isa , Jesus Was Undoubtedly Nubians / Blacks Negroid . Maybe Now You Will Believe It ;..."

It seems to think that it has more credibility if it claims these comments are made by white people, even if they are, so what? White people who looking at the plight of African-Americans descide that if they convince the general public he was black, perhaps more respect will be given to the African-American community? Who knows what their intentions were if this is even true, which I highly doubt.

"A Caucasian Theologian also agrees that Yashua , Isa , Jesus was a Nubian / Black / Negroid / man with short , Afro - Hair and a short black beard"

They could tell all this from the skull they found could they?

"The people who call themselves Israelis Today Are Not The Original People From Israel . The Round WaSkull s The Kind Of Face That You Find In North Africa , Egypt . These Are The Features Of Nubia In Sudan And Egypt, Those people you see in Egypt today are not the Indigenous Nubians / Blacks / Negroids."

This reveals some of the author's bias, as far as I know the anchient egyptians emigrated from the medditarreanean and were caucasian as the author stated, but there were no or very few blacks in egypt when they arrived or anywhere above the sahara. As they progressed further up the nile they encoutered blacks.
I believe blacks became part of the egyptian soceity, certainly from art works/statues from the time the people depicted had african and caucasian features, certainly the author's assertion that they were ALL black is false.

Of Course, most people who now live in Israel are jews who have immigrated from all over the world. But again the author asserts that at the time of jesus a huge amount were black or they were all black? Later he asserts that the original tribe of abraham were all black aswell?

"He Was Dark - Skinned With Nappy Hair , like all the original tribes of Abraham"

Oh, there were all black were they? Not just jesus, but all of them?

"This Is The Time Of The Harvest And The Holy Seed , The Lost Sheep Of The House Of Israel Matthew 10 ; 5 - 6 ;... The Tribe Of Judah Must Be Called . We Are A Visble Image Of Our Invisible Heavenly Father."

Again what is this about? Blacks are more holy than other races? Blacks are a 'visible image of our inivisible heavenly father'?
More of the author's biased revealed.

"Jesus Was Undoubtedly Nubians / Blacks Negroid . Maybe Now You Will Believe It ;..."

Undoubtedly huh? That's a strong word, this reveals how SURE the author is that Jesus was black, or how much we wants him to have been black.

This article seems to have been written by a black supremist or something. It is not written in a fair critical way, but with a preconcieved viewpoint.

I don't think we should argue about what Jesus looked liked, and due to the amount of evidence that exists, it's possible he could have been Arab, Jewish, Black, in fact it's possible he could have been anything, we just don't know. Other posters have put reasons for why they believe he may be a particular race, but it's all speculation, we simply don't know.

The reason I attacked this article is because it seems to be lies and to be asserting that blacks are somehow better or more holy, but we are all equal before god. I think lies like this should be attacked.

As another poster said I think we can all think of Jesus as our own race if it helps us, In Africa they have pictures of Jesus as completely black in Europe and the USA he is pictured as being white, in asia is he pictured with asian features, etc. And this is fine.

Racism is still a big problem in the world today, many have died and suffered and continue to die and suffer, and I don't think trying to put a race on Jesus is a good idea.

Perhaps the reason for there being no evidence of what jesus looked like is because he wouldn't want us associating him with any one race, he died for all, every single person on earth of every colour and nationality.

:sigh:

Doesn't matter what color You are as long as Your blood was red
For it's strong enough to wash away my sins
And it's pure enough to cleanse me deep within
And it's real enough to find me when I'm lost
Great enough to die upon the cross

It doesn't matter what color You are
As as long as Your blood was red

Just out of couriousity, if Jesus is of Mary who is 100% Jewish in tradition, and of the Holy Spirit in tradition, then how can it be said that Jesus is 100% Jewish and what be depicted in such a way?

What becomes the overiding characteristic that depicts color upon a between the divine and the human?

Also, what does is this about Jesus being Nubian? Nubia was a place south of egypt, very far away from Israel. For Jesus to be Nubian he would have had to be born in Nubia he wasn't as we know he was born in Bethlehem.

The lies in this article are so severe that they defeat the aim of the article, the lies such as bones being found when there would be none, if bones were found then jesus didn't ascend so he isn't the son of god as I said, and also it says in the bible he was born in Israel not Nubia.

Sorry but this article is really rediculous and it's made me kind of annoyed that people will make up this stuff.

Can people please refrain from posting propogander like this until you've validated the sources are good and reliable and the information is true.

Uhhh...I highly doubt that Jesus was black since he was Jewish and they are Middle Eastern.....

You're right, we don't have a photo, but a good guess of his characteristics would come just by knowing his heritage and the time frame and area in which he lived.

But, like "on fire 4 Jesus" said, who cares?? It doesn't matter if he was purple with pink polka dots really.............

God bless,

I agree with the rest of the posters here, it doesn't matter what race Jesus was, just what He did for us all.

We all know and agree that He wasn't blonde with blue eyes, I believe his looks were somewhere right in the middle not towards either extreme. I don't think He was African looking as in pure African, niether was He Caucasion as in white skin. The way those people looked back then, He most likely looked like Puerto Ricans look here in America, medium light to dark brown skin, dark wavy to loosely curly hair, meduim in between features. :) Perfect in-between looks. That's how God wanted it. :) A little bit of all races and all of none.

Of course, with faith, it doesn't really matter what Jesus looked like but I think it would be safe to assume He looked like any other Jewish man of His region.
People seem to want a visual or something concrete to hold on to. The famous shroud, the search for the Holy Grail, and sightings of Noah's ark for examples.
But you know that's NOT what it's all about!!
Faith in the truth of God's word-NOW there's the ticket!!

Well--why not? It's not like we have a photo. I think he was. Makes sense. If not black, then definitely Arab. There's no way in hell that he was this blonde-haired, blue-eyed caucasian that most picture books point him out to be. The man was a Middle-Easterner. But hey--if you can prove me wrong without ranting and giving me pages of the Bible, then I'll listen. Note: His race matters naught to me--I just want to hear what your answers to this proposition are. :)
if it did not matter to you why would you bring it up. God is God no matter what color but I think he was White. Black people thinks he Black Asians thinks hes Asian you see what I am getting at here? all that matters if the color of his Blood which was red correct? thats all that matters. most non christian black people want whites to think hes black for the simple fact that then whites would have to whorship a black man and rub it in there face. there should be no pics of Jesus its breaking the graven image command.

I sort of wish we had absolute proof that he was black or dark skinned, it would make a lot in the Faith examine their racist ideas.

Jesus said for us to love everyone.........so we either do or we dont.the color of Jesus skin would not change that. I know a lot of Jewish people and I would not have known it unless they told me because there just as white as I am so how can you tell?

BTW ever heard of Yaweh Ben Yawen hes black and it claming to be the Messiah whats up with that?

Jesus was born of Mary, a Jewish maid from the tribe of Judah, and the household of David. So let's be reasonable. Jewish people are olive in complexion. Soooo--what if He is olive in complexion? Well, what else could we expect, or why would that natural result be other than normal, or undesirable??
