And since there are many that believe in WATER BAPTISM or in BAPTISM , can anyone explai Acts 19 : 2 , there were 12 , since ye believed

did you recieve HOLY SPIRIT .

And they said , but we did hear whether there is HOLY SPIRIT .

AND he said to them , for what reason , then were you BAPTIZED / BAPTISMA .

So what does BAPTISMA , then mean ?

Acts 19:1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. 4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

So, what this is about is that Paul was talking to some (12) men in Ephesus and learned that they had been water baptized but only because of repentance and not because of believing in Jesus. They had not yet received the Holy Spirit because they did not profess faith in Jesus yet. So, then they were water baptized again with the understanding that they were being baptized because of repentance and to show that they believed in Jesus. After that, they received the Holy Spirit. This shows that people must repent and put their faith in Christ in order to be saved and receive the Holy Spirit. And it shows that when being water baptized, it needs to be with the understanding that you are showing that you believe in Jesus and not only doing it to show that you are repentant.

It means to be immersed in water, which is the kind of baptism that John the Baptist performed.

And in Acts 19:4 , And Paul said , John BAPTIZED / BAPTIZO , with a BAPTISMA , and the Greek word BAPTISMA ,

means what ?

In Eph 4:5 teads , ONE / HEIS and that is the Greek word for ONE .

ONE / HEIS , ONE LORD , ONE FAITH , ONE , BAPTISMA .

BAPTISMA is used 22 times , and the first time is in Matt 3:7 and I am then going to Eph 4:5

and then to 1 Peter 3:21 and it begins , The like figure whereunto even BAPTISMA ( BAPTISMA means the Holy Spirit

doth also now also SAVE US , ( not the PUTTING AWAY OF THE FILTH , but and answer of a good conscience

toward God ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ ,

BAPTISMA is the work of the HOLY SPIRIT .

And if you push me I give you the verses where BAPTISMA are in the KJV , BUT I will leave with one more

in Rom 6:3 and reads , Paul writes , Or are you IGNORANT , That as many as were BAPTIZED into Christ Jesus were

BAPTIZED into his DEATH .

And IN other words , IMMERSED is not their , neither is SUBMERGED !

Then in Rom 6:4 Therefore we were BURIED together with Him through this BAPRTISMA , and what does that mean

and why did the HOLY SPRIT , HAD , Paul insert the Greek word BAPTISMA , 22 TIMES IN THE KJV ??

Your thughts ?

And I see that you are a AMILLENNIALIST and we trade verses and be glad to show with verses in

2 Thess 2 why I am PRE-TRI !!

I am not denying that we are baptized in the Holy Spirit when we are baptized in Christ Jesus. That's a different baptism than John's baptism because it is a spiritual baptism. I was simply saying that John's baptism was a baptism of immersion in water. You need to read what I'm actually saying and not read things into what I'm saying.

And I see that you are a AMILLENNIALIST and we trade verses and be glad to show with verses in

2 Thessalonians 2 does not support pre-trib at all, so I don't know what you're talking about. I added the "Amillennialist" description as a request that Douggg made awhile back for all of us who post on the Eschatology forum to identify what our beliefs are to make it easier for people to have an idea of what someone believes when reading their posts on that forum. But, if having that there is going to lead to derailing threads like this which having nothing to do with Eschatology, then maybe I should remove that.
