  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you get a lot of repeat in questions on here?
Not a whole lot... I really think that questions come from the individual's personality. So, that opens many doors for the type of questions you get asked... :p

What are you hoping to get through having this thread on here (friendship?)....?
That is a good question... I've never really thought about that before. I am in school, and I do live in the dorms. So, sometimes I do tend to get lonely and/or bored. This definitely helps with both.... I have always liked the 'Q&A game' though.... Sometimes you get questions that really make you think about yourself; perhaps I will learn something about myself that I had not realized before... ;)

Do you believe that being gay is something one is born with or choice...or both?
I believe that it is a choice. Being homosexual is a sin, and I do not believe that God would create anyone 'gay' since it is something that could send him/her to Hell.

What do you think are the most important qualities that a teacher must possess?

Do you possess them?

Would you be a good Christian witness to your students or do you have to leave religion at the door in a school?

What do you think of this possible title for my project on the gambling referendum in Kanawha Co. "Lies, Money, and Power: An Investigation into the Kanawha County Gambling Referendum of 2007"?

How odd you should ask that.... We just talked about this in my Integrated Methods & Materials class tonight....

1. Content Knowledge
2. Enthusiasm
3. Able to Facilitate Learners
4. Clear and Concise
5. Creative
6. Caring
7. Fun
8. Organized
9. Authentic
10. Able to get students to "own the material"

Do you possess them?
I believe I do... Sometimes I do stress over content knowledge because there is so much information about chemistry that it is impossibly for me to truly understand it all. I feel like I should know everything... Today I read an article that said it is ok to not know the answer to every question a student may as you as long as you are persistent in find a solution to their problem. :) That made me feel a little bit better.

Would you be a good Christian witness to your students or do you have to leave religion at the door in a school?
I never leave my 'religion' anywhere. There are several places in the Bible that speak of letting your Christian light shine through your day to day activities. I don't believe that I have to be hitting my students over the head with a Bible for them to know that I am a Christian.

What do you think of this possible title for my project on the gambling referendum in Kanawha Co. "Lies, Money, and Power: An Investigation into the Kanawha County Gambling Referendum of 2007"?
Is this a trick question?

No, its not a trick question, I intend to submit that tomorrow as my suggestion for the topic of our research projection on the gambling referendum
And you really want my opinion? ... You do remember that I would have voted yes, don't you? :p

lol, I have found some more info on the election. CAN you say FRAUD....lol
I can tell I am going to enjoy this project if we go in the direction I am trying to push it.
I have already found evidence of lying on the part of the pro-gambling backers. Evidence of millions and millions spent by the pro-gambling backers and only a few thousand by the anti-gambling bloc. I have found statistics that prove it will cost us more than will bring in revenue. Found evidence that the jobs will not be anything like what they said. They will be lowly paid and there won't be 1000 of them. I think if everyone signs off on my title (which I think it would be hard to convince my professor to go along with it unless all the evidence pointed that way) it will be a very interesting look at the scum behind the push for Las Vegas style gambling casinos in Kanawha County. I have some ideas for a bumper sticker...lol

Police Hunt Suspect in Overnight Shooting of Two Students at Delaware State University when you read that how does it make you feel about ur school is it safe?
Although I know the possibility is always there, I actually feel very safe on my campus. We have never had any major incidents of violence, and the campus police department is right across the street from my dorm... ;)

I believe that the Mexican students should focus more on learning how to speak English. If people are going to live here, they need to realize they must speak the English language.
