• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think science acknowledges the gaps, but proceeds to ignore them.

Theology does not (for me, anyway) answer questions like "what is the boiling point of lead" or "how can I predict the effects on a species of geographical isolation for a few hundred years". These are "gaps" in theology - but they aren't, really, because they aren't gaps in the areas it proposes to address.

I see science and theology as essentially unrelated fields, like poetry and biology. I don't object to science not answering non-scientific questions, any more than I object to theology not answering non-theological questions.

If you feel that you need answers, you will of course seek for them, but this doesn't mean that people who don't feel the need for those answers are making a logical error; it means they have different needs than you do.

So, if God couldn't provide you with an answer that you could understand about exactly why "He Is"

Jerry : God is... that I am sure.

But he has made no attempt to explain his existence other than... I am.

I know that one of his qualities is to be all knowing.

I wonder if that refers to God himself ?

I wonder, does God know "how" he always was ... and is ... and will be?

I think I will ask him when we meet face to face.

I hope you are there to hear his answer and help me figure a way out of trouble if I anger him.

If God exists and is Transcendent, I doubt He is angered by anything we humans might do. We must appear from His Grand Perspective as harmless and innocent creatures, even the worst among us. I don't picture God as the type given to torturing insects that crawl the wrong way across the bottom of the jar...

The god that you imagine is an uncaring god that is much less than the Father that I know.

The Father that I know is not the wicked god that you imagine him to be.

I love having these talks with you.

You are very deep and interesting. :)

Who? I am sorry Seesaw but you are not making much sense to me.

You must know more than your telling.

Or do you really have no idea and no answers?

i believe he was just going along with your joke. (you know, when you said huh what big bang? is that from some big weapon or something? obviously not verbatim, but i think ya know which post of yours i am referring to)At least i would think/hope it is a joke, the big bang theory is basic elementary school child knowledge

I refuse to believe that anything... just is.

IMO There are reason to everything.

God says "I Am", yet you refuse to believe that anything "Just Is"? Contradicting yourself again.

If there is a reason to everything, then what is the reason for God?
