I hope he does well...if for some reason I can't vote for Elliott anymore, I would vote for Taylor.

I will definitely vote for Taylor. He is one of the most original and unique contestants ever on the show. I read about the big controversy with the song he wanted to sing last week, and how it was rejected for not fitting the theme well enough (Try a Little Tenderness certainly seems to fit the theme of Love Songs to me...) so instead he chose Just Once and was blasted for a bad performance. I'm really looking forward to seeing him rebound with a stellar performance tonight.

What I don't understand is why it took so ling for them to figure out the song wasn't acceptable...why don't they get the songs approved before they even begin practicing it? This wasn't the first time this has happened to Taylor. AI should give them more notice for a song change IMO...

I don't think it was a last miunte change.

It's happened to some of the other contestants as well. Sometimes the guest is the reason, sometimes the producers. I really am not buying the VFTW conspiracy theory. Simon has given Taylor kudos when he deserved it. I think sometimes he just doesn't perform as if he is trying to win, he performs as if he is doing one of his shows at the club.

I like Taylor. He just is not very consistent. These last weeks, he has to STEP IT UP. VFTW has all of 2,000 registered members, so I think that most of their "power" is in their collective heads.

With all that being said, I wish all of the contestants well. This coming stretch is a very TOUGH one!

ahh...finally a newsletter I can post...

Howdy all, welcome back to another rousing week of the Votefortheworst.com
update. We've officially hit over 3000 subscribers to the newsletter, so that's
awesome. Of course every now and then, I get responses like "*** U R SO MEAN
TAKE ME OFF THIS LIST, I LUVVV KELLIE!!!" So it seems the Kellie fans weren't
smart enough to not join an update list that mocked her...

-Kellie Pickler had her last hurrah on Wednesday, but I think we all saw it
coming. By the end there, most of her fans had given up on her, so VFTW were the
only ones left trying to salvage her stay on the show. Rumors also have it that
Kellie did not receive the lowest amount of votes, but instead, she asked to be
voted off because she wanted to leave. Either way, thanks for the memories,
Kellie. You were one of the greatest VFTW contestants ever!

-Kellie's departure leaves room for a new VFTW, so we selected Taylor Hicks.
Taylor is wildly entertaining with his spasms and WOO's, and he's been singing
pretty poorly recently. Also, the show obviously doesn't want Taylor to win, so
we say, "Too bad. Go Taylor!" For more on why we picked Taylor, check out the
American Idol 5 page (The reason we don't include links in these e-mails is so
that we can be sure they are delivered to your inbox. In the past, when we
included links, they went to spam folders.)

-Are You The Worst Idol, our singing contest, is under way. 16 terrible singers
have signed up and they're asking for your votes. Check out that section on the
site to download their performances. You have until 10 PM pacific time on
Wednesday to vote for your favorite bad singers. The top 10 vote getters will
move on to the final rounds to compete in the fun theme weeks. Trust us, these
16 clips are hilarious. If you enjoy bad singing, you definitely need to come on
by and vote every week.

That's it for now. Make sure to vote like a crazy person for Taylor (I guess
that means vote like Taylor for Taylor). Inside sources say that he is sick of
the way Idol is treating him and how they're stifling his creativity. We may
have a renegade Taylor on our hands this week, performing even more crazy just
to tick off the judges. Also, his rumored song choices for the night include
"Play That Funky Music", "Who Says You Can't Go Home" by Bon Jovi, and
"Something" by the Beatles. We're really hoping "Play That Funky Music" is
correct!

I'm looking forward to tonight, too! I was reading what everyone else wrote and I was wondering who is my favorite... and if I had to judge by 'who I'm looking forward to' then I'd have to say I mostly enjoy watching Katharine first and then Elliot.

I guess they tend to choose more old fashioned 'croon and swoon' songs, and that's one of my favorite kinds of music, and the kind of music I would sing myself if I was on AI, so I guess that's why I like them the most.

I think this is completely possible.Though I will say that if it comes down to Taylor and Chris and Taylor loses...that would be ok too. They are BOTH excellent performers.

When it comes down to it though...any of the contestants that are left certainly deserve to be the next American Idol and are talented enough to win. It's an awesome season!

I am skeptical as I thought that the Beatles catalog is off-limits to American Idol. Unless they suddenly got the OK, I don't see "Something" in his repertoire. Now "Play that Funky Music" would be most enjoyable!

Edited for correction: A few Beatles songs have been performend in the history of Idol (I think 3) so it IS possible. Since this is a George Harrison song, perhaps that makes the difference. I just remember reading that they have had trouble with permission to sing MOST Beatles songs. Hmmmm. Curiouser and curiouser.
