2- how did you find out about what Taylor "wanted" to sing, and find out about him changing it?

I think you're probably talking about my post asking people not to continue mocking her accent. If so, you clearly missed the point.

No one blasted anyone, I just asked respectfully that people tone down the mocking of her accent. As I said, there are likely other deep-south CFers who talk in a very similar way and who may be offended by it. Apparently, you disagree.

When someone quotes Simon, it is very easy to make words using his accent, too. Good grief, I am from the south, too. We would be blind not to point out. that her accent is so think that it is almost a foreign language.

As far as mocking her accent...why would it be wrong to poke fun at that....but to not point out how wrong it is to belittle her for purposefully coming across as a ding-dong when she certainly is not one.We have pages of threads on people doing that (?) How many people pointed out how graciously she left the show all of a sudden appearing as Kelli's clone who had a lick of sense?

Some people pick and choose the rights and wrongs. May we move on without the accent remarks, but continue to make fun in more constructive and less obvious ways.

I agree with you. I don't like to hear people making fun of other people. It's the name-calling that is hurtful, I think... like when Simon says, that was awful, he has a right to his opinion, but when he says, you remind me of a drunk brother in law at a wedding, that's not a "professional" way of critiquing someone, I think.
