CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

PLease let me explain myself about Taylor.
If I were to hear him on the radio, I would not think HE'S AWESOME!!!! That is the type of mentality I want to have when I think of someone winning AI....Taylor does not fit that bill. When you hear him, it's like yeah he can hold a tune and sings well...but he does not have the voice to sell millions of records.
I have two favorites... Although I do not prefer his style of music, I believe that Chris is very talented in what he does. I also believe that Katherine Mcphee is the total package. As far as talent, she has a wide vocal range and is sultry. I think it takes a lot for a voter to get outside his/her preferences in music to proclaim who really has raw talent. I just don't believe Taylor fits into the AI mold. If you can imagine all the people that have sang from day one of tryouts and then look to the future and see Taylor winning, it would be total devastation...especially when you compare everyone to him.

Well.
I must say that was the cutest, most alert baby I've seen!
I was worried about Kellie; Rod does prefer the young and blonde!
I was surprised at Simon liking almost all of them.

So are you saying Rubin was idol material because I wouldn't listen to any of his music. Clay Aiken on the other had...
Everyone has their own opinon and I think in the end, VFTW or not, the true idol will win. I think there are alot of talented contestants this year and would be happy with almost any of them. Chris and Taylor have different styles yet I enjoy watching both. Taylor is entertaining to watch and he can sing. Just my opinion.

Katherine: My favorite performance tonight. The girl is a star. She is beautiful and has the voice to match. Her voice is made for songs like that. And her Daddy was tearin' up, too. Pass me the hankie--NOOO, Kellie NOT your snotrag! Yuck!
Chris: My second favorite tonight. Tender, vulnerable performance--loved it! He showed that he has a really clear soothing voice, and hold the presses--he SHAVED and ditched the eyeliner! Yeah!
Taylor: Started off kinda boring, but kicked it in. He certainly was having a grand old time. His performance was enjoyable.
Paris: She sounded good tonight. More mature and not sassy. Good job.
Elliott: Mr. Tumnus, I really like your voice! I understand what Simon was saying, but I just will NOT believe you would be going home before ACE, so I think you are safe.
Kellie: Yes, dear, lyrics and words to the music ARE the same thing. Now step away from the microphone and show me those SHOES, girlfriend!
Ace: Please don't dippity-do your hair like that again. I thought I had accidentally flipped to "The Sopranos". You got a little too giddy when Simon didn't say you were awful. That came across just a little too...well neeeedy. Buh-bye.
My prediction to go home: Ace
