Not sure I agree. How did the early Acts church grow? Sure they met in the temple, but most of their lives were lived out in their homes, fellowshipping with one another, breaking bread and edifying God.Definitely not necessary for salvation, but definitely necessary for growth. Agree?

Modern day churches can tend to be so structured that true worship gets choked out. Check out the home church movement going on now in the country. That's true fellowshipping! Sometimes families can be hurt by the church stepping in where it doesn't belong - that is eveidence of a church imposing its own self-importance, and can be very destructive.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE 'the church' (the body) and the people from my former church and the duties I performed (I played drums on the worship team and built the church web site, was involved in drama, etc,...) but Jesus never told anyone to go to church did He?
