Well...
Your response:
If you don’t believe that it happens at MY church, then you are effectively calling me a liar. There are a hundred different ways you could have stated disagreement, but this was your choice. In my opinion everything was very cordial until this moment.
Just to make sure I didn't misunderstand you followed up with this thinly veiled accusation:
Then, of course we went to flat out name calling.
I don't debate scripture with people that act this way. You talk about how things must agree with scripture, I agree, but atheists and crazy people** quote scripture and provide their interpretations too. They think the scriptures validate what they are saying.. That doesn't make them right. So there must be more to it than that.
Truth is the scriptural backing is largely scriptures I'm certain we are both familiar with, it's just that you clearly have misunderstood some small but key elements. With all of the public teaching I have done on the subject and am very well aware of arguments like yours. I have heard them over and over and studied them intently. But none of that matters when talking to someone who isn't interested in learning, but rather in proving you are wrong.
**I'm not calling anyone here this, I'm just using it as an illustration
If you can't back your claims up with scripture, then you have no case.
