• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello my fellow alcoholics/addicts, how are you all doing this day. I am going through some tough times at the moment but I know that this too shall pass. It is not the situation, it is how I choose to handle that certain situation and I choose to allow God to help me through this...God bless you all...Just needed to vent...feel better already....:amen:

I am just dropping in to see how everybody is doing and to bump this thread back up. :)
Well, I'm still clean & sober.Still no desire for either.God willing it'll stay that way.I would like to say to any that are struggleing, that it is possible to get free of any addiction. So If you've just quit.Take heart, your first steps are the hardest. The farther one gets from their addiction, the weaker it's grip. One day you will realise that you haven't even thought about it.Thats a beautiful day.Especially when you can remember a time that you never thought you would be free.Look tward that. I can guarantee you,if your heart is in it you will be a sucess.

I fell on day seven and smoked some pot. I don't even understand why.

Its very hard at first Steve. Its like your body expects you to take a drink or to light up. I have to say it was far easier for me to stoip smoking that it has been to stay sober.

Hang in there and please don't lose hope. I have found this to be a very supportive group. In time, you'll see what I mean.

God bless!

Hey Mark, I got in so much trouble drinking I had to slow down or go to jail. That is why started smoking more pot. I have been alcohol free 8 days now and fell back into smoking pot yesterday after going 6 days without. I want free still and have asked my wife who likes to have glass of wine or a beer once an awhile and my adult son that lives with us who drinks and smokes weed not to bring it into the house.

God bless.

Its a start, and that says a lot for you.

Is there a local support group in your area that you can tact for assistance?

Hang in there...Its very tough at first, but it can be done!

I'll be praying for you!

God Bless!

Good Morning Everybody!

Its a beautiful God-given day here in Terxas! I'm headed out the door shortly with my wife to a local park here. We have started a weekly routine of getting out of the house and doing some sort of exercise. (No small feat for wither of us since we haven't done this on a regular basis for a long time).

Point of the post is....I'm finding it helpful to stay asd active as I can. It drives away boredom and all but eliminates that need to consider having a drink.

Makes me feel a lot better as well.

Have a great weekend wherever you are. You are all in my prayers.

God Bless!
