After two attendees faint, Trump town hall segues into 39 minutes of music from Trump's curated playlist 'Let’s just listen to music.'

We shouldn't listen to good music because it's considered a gay anthem?
That strikes me as being at odds with everything the left holds dear
I don't really know what the left holds dear. 'YMCA' is just an odd piece to play at a Republican rally. I suppose it was 'woke', as the right has it.

(It is a good song.)

Literally nobody said that.

A brief bit of commentary on the whole genre:

If you had just come out of a twenty year coma and somebody showed you that 40 minutes and told you 'this is meant to be a town hall discussion for someone standing for office,' the you would think it was some kind of joke.

If you were then told the office was the POTUS then you'd think that you were hallucinating.

What has happened that this is considered normal behaviour? If this happened in Australia then the guy would be pilloried. He'd be a laughing stock. He'd be a figure of fun.

And people want him to represent the US? I can see leaders of countries all over the world watching this (and you'd better believe they'll be showing it everywhere) and thinking 'Good grief...we might have to actually deal with this guy?'

Why aren't you embarrassed? And please, don't divert to some pathetic whstaboutisms. The guy is not fit for the position.

While I don't think the music thing is anything more than kooky, it is absolutely true that the Right would be wigging out if Biden or Harris did this.
But everyone knows the standards for Trump and Harris are different. Just as standards for table manners for your adult uncle and for your 4-year old nephew are different.

The town hall, moderated by South Dakota Gov. Kristi L. Noem (R), began with questions from preselected attendees for the former president. But it took a sudden turn after two attendees required medical attention.

“Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music. Who the ██ wants to hear questions, right?” he said.

For 39 minutes, Trump swayed, bopped — sometimes stopping to speak — as he turned the event into almost a living-room listening session of his favorite songs from his self-curated rally playlist.

He played nine tracks. He danced. He shook hands with people onstage. He pointed to the crowd. Noem stood beside him, nodding with her hands clasped. Trump stayed in place onstage, slowly moving back and forth. He was done answering questions for the night.

“This is the most important election in the history of our country,” Trump said, once again accusing Democrats of weaponizing elections. But then he went back to his music.

“Those two people that went down are patriots, and we love them, and because of them we ended up with some good music, right?” he asked. “So play ‘YMCA!’ Go ahead. Let’s go nice and loud!”
So Trump pauses the town hall so medical treatment could be provided to ensure they are cared for? Sounds like a great guy that he cared more about his attendees than the event itself.

Bottom line, that.

After both attendees received medical attention while "Ave Maria" played, no more questions were asked. Although Trump spoke a few times, the town hall came to an end as the event segued into musical selections.

Noted. You think it is "kooky" for somebody to pause an event so pedicle treatment can be provided to the atendees?

Those were my words you quoted, not @The Barbarian's.

Do you think it's clever to misinterpret somebody's post that badly?

It appears that your quote was copied a second time in my post. If one wasn't reading carefully, it would have been easy to get it wrong.

I edited the post to remove the copied text.

Of course it would have been inappropriate to ignore what happened. I think Trump had no idea how to proceed after these incidents. A little more presence of mind was in order.
