When someone's wife cheats, and their kids get sick, and they lose everything.
Why do they never think about who cause it all to happen in the first place?
Why do Christians always thank their God but never blame him? is their God not in charge?

Like I said if you have to argue by using things that you know are just children's stories then you are not reflecting your position as an intelligent and reasoned one. Rather you resort to childish nahnahnahnana types of argumentation.

I know I am not deluded for various reasons but the most compelling is a pray being answered that was using a rare event with others being present and a part of it.

Are you a 60 year old adult, if you don't mind me asking?

How do you know they are "just children stories"?

If you had lived in a world where everyone told you Santa was real, where everyone prayed to Santa every Sunday, where songs and stories about Santa were said to be divinely inspired, where coincidences of rare events and prayer to Santa were interpreted as His existence, you would believe just as fervently in Santa as you do in God.

And I would be here questioning Santa's existence, saying I want some sort of proof, and you would be making the same arguments for his existence.

All we need to do is look back to when people believed in Ra or Zeus, or consider Allah today. Don't the guys who flew the planes into the Twin Towers get 72 virgins or something like that?

Like here?
Here are some facts -- you decide:
  • 30 October 1991: The Halloween Monster, a.k.a. The Perfect Storm, strikes the U.S. amid the "land-for-peace" Madrid peace talks; President Bush's ocean-side home destroyed.
  • 23 August 1992: President Bush moves Madrid talks to U.S. soil; that very day, Hurricane Andrew devastates southern Florida.
  • 16 January 1994: President Clinton meets with Syrian President Hafez Assad to discuss more "land for peace" arrangements; less than 24 hours later, a 6.9 earthquake pulverized southern California.
  • 1 September 1993: President Clinton announces a meeting with Arafat for the Oslo peace accords, to be held on 13 September; after a week of meandering in the Atlantic Ocean, Hurricane Emily hits North Carolina on that very day.
  • 21 January 1998: while waiting to meet with Arafat at the White House, President Clinton's sex scandal breaks out.
  • 27 September 1998: Arafat is meeting with the president in Washington; Hurricane Georges hits Alabama and stalls. The hurricane stalls until Arafat leaves and then it dissipates. Parts of Alabama declared a disaster area.
  • 17 October 1998: Arafat comes to the Wye Plantation meeting; incredible rains fall on Texas, which cause record flooding. Parts of Texas declared a disaster area.
  • 3 September 1999: Secretary of State Albright meets with Arafat in Israel; Hurricane Dennis comes ashore on this very day after weeks of changing course in the Atlantic Ocean.
  • 12-26 July 2000: Arafat at the Camp David meetings. Powerful droughts throughout the country. Forest fires explode in West into uncontrollable fires. By the end of August, 7 million acres are burnt.
  • 9 November 2000, two days after the presidential election: Arafat meets with President Clinton at the White House to try and salvage the peace process; worst election crisis in over 100 years occurs.

I'm real, and would help come up with solutions.
Someone's wife cheats, their kids get sick, and they lose everything; and you will help come up with solutions?

Okay ... let's hear a solution?

This is the kind of answer I was expecting.
Er, that is exactly how Psychics work.

There are lots of articles on the internet which debunk this kind of thinking, which clearly explain the errors in your logic.
So whether we give God the credit for the good times, or whether we blame God for the bad, it doesn't matter does it?

So what's the point of this question?
Why do Christians always thank their God but never blame him?

Look, you may have never had any experience with God but I have. I didn't have someone telling me that God was real, to pray to him or listen to stories about him. God is real, whether you want to believe it, whether I wanted to believe it or whether no one believes it. He is real. So you can equate Him to Santa or Zeus or any other false god you wish but HE is real and someday you will know just as much as I do today.

But how did I come to know that they are children's stories...? At some point, I was permitted or encouraged to cease believing them. Absent that permission or encouragement or urging why is it not feasible that people would continue to believe into their adulthood......as they do with gods of various kinds...?

That should tell you something.

Also, you can't all be correct...! Even if we grant that one god exists, the others must likewise be as silly as Santa or leprechauns....so which group of other adults 'believe' better than the others...?

Believe me, it is not as innocent as Santa or make believe leprechauns.

Would you mind sharing the nature of that event which could be explained in no other way...?

I have.

See that little black '60' up by my user name...?

Ah hadn't noticed that.

No you haven't, you think you have but you haven't, your mind is doing it all, just as your mind tells you who you love,
you can feel love in your bones but you know it's all happening in your mind, you sometimes feel fear in the movies to the point where you shake all over but you still know the feelings are coming from your mind, you might still be shaking when you walk out of the movies but you can laugh about it because you know none of it was real.

Now here's a post with no heart.

A mind and bones, but no heart.

Sounds like a horror movie.

I know that this type of rationalization is comforting to you. You feel that if you can show that God is an imaginary being you don't have to worry about what is going to happen to you when you die. Sorry, you can try to convince people that have no knowledge of God in their lives that they are believing in a fairytale but you will not convince people who know God exists. It can't happen. We know reality, we know what is true. We know what we know. You will someday know too. Unfortunately for you it won't be on good terms.

Why would I need to rationalise a non existent being? it is you trying to convince yourself that something that you know is not there is in fact there.

I understand you are afraid of dying and I sympathise with you but telling yourself lies just makes things worse, your life becomes one long lie, everything in your life becomes geared to you dying, your life is just a preparation for you dying,
why not forget your death and concentrate on living, why sacrifice the one life you know you have got for one you can only hope for? they threatened you with not getting an after life so now you are threatening me, it won't work because I know when I die that's it, it's all over, I don't want to die but it's going to happen no matter what I do.
Someone promised you something that you are paying for now, with your money and the only life you are ever going to get, that's just a waste of your money and your life.

There is a problem with your premise. IF I were wrong like you claim, I would just die and that would be it. What is to fear of that? Just close my eyes and nothingness. I wouldn't exist and it wouldn't matter. There is nothing to fear of nothingness. But if I am right like I claim, then there is something to fear for you. I think the fear factor is much more for you than for me.

Yup.

Psalm 83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

That is so ironic.

Christians live in constant fear of God's punishment and Hell, while Atheists have nothing to fear.

AV you are too afraid to type the word "Sex". Think about it.

Again, your premise is wrong. We do not have to fear God's punishment or hell. We are washed clean and can stand before God without blemish. Nothing to fear there. Unlike you, if what we claim is true, you will not stand before God clean but in sin with punishment for claiming you didn't know God existed even though you had evidence to show He did. Now before you get yourself in a tither about that, I don't have the answer to that. God says you know. So you'll have to convince Him not me that you didn't know He existed.
