CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Of course it does. Distance is even measured in time units! Light YEARS! Time on earth IS involved in parallax measures! My example showed that in one case six months were involved. Really.
No matter how much or how little earth area time is involved some has to be!
Even if we could forget the second point in a trig measurement, and just use a straight line to the star! You see, that line would not really tell distance unless time and space were the same all the way! You be well and truly hooped.
They are not in deep space. Gong. We could say also that if went up 1000 feet above either city, time would be different!

If you want to talk about intolerance, look at the numerous posts calling Christians and creationists liars, equating a Holy Creator God to Santa Claus, mocking others beliefs, etc. Intolerance goes on daily from the unbelieving members here.
Disagreeing with a behavior is not hatred, rage or intolerance.
