Talin slowly closed the giant door as Arela Ryaren walked past him. The entrance into Talin's mountain home was lit with many torches hanging besides pieces of armor or weapons. Follow me Talin said as he walked down the tunnel. They suddenly came into a large open room with a hole at the top of the roof. In the center of the room lay a large pit with a roaring fire. The room was well lit. Please sit down. Talin pointed to some comfortable chairs. Now then would you mind telling me what the servants of Morgoth were doing in the middle of my forest with you two? And what the heck is that thing Talin pointed at the horn.

Ryaren was not sure whether she should tell him, but how could she explain about the horn? he saw her desperation in recovering it.

"It's, um.. " she stammered, not sure how to begin.
"Thanks for the rescue," Arela cut in, "But who are you and where is here?"
----

"The forest," Hank said, dropping his prisoner. "Right, let's go."

My Name is Talin you don't need to fear me since you too are an enemy of Morgoth. As for this place it's my home it was built thousands of years ago by the Dwarves but they ran off when the darkness of Morgoth spread through the forest. My family found it many years before I was born and I have lived here since. Now please answer at least on of my questions you don't have to tell me about the horn if it's that important but do tell me how you became those monsters captives. I believe you owe me that much at least.

Ryaren and Arela exchanged a glance. He did have a point.

"Actually," Ryaren said, "We have two more companions, but we were separated when the Morgoths came. I thin our companions might be looking for us." she fingered the horn. "I would like them to explain when they get here."

"They will be here," Arela said at the doubtful look on Talin's face.
----

Liam followed his senses while Hank parted the bushes examining the ground for tracks. The two of them arrived at the same conclusion and same trail. "I can track the horn with my senses, that will take us to Ryaren," Liam explained to the archer.

"I see," Hank said and they sped on, no longer worrying about finding the track left behind by the people they were searching. The trees rushed past them as they increased their pace, their running feet causing a minimum of noise in the forest.

"A mountain?" Hank said.

Talin nodded at his guests . Well then I had better find them and bring them here please make yourself comfortable while i'm gone. Talin walked back to the entrance to his home and took his ax and bow with him. He then opened the hidden door and steped out then closed it behind him. Well now to find their companions.

Angband
Master! Master! An Orc sentry yelled as it ran into the throne room. What is it has Rarg's company come in yet? Sort of my lord only two scouts have returned but they say the rest of the company is dead. What! Morgoth roared in anger bring the scouts here now I want a full report. The scouts quivered in fear of their master’s great anger. Now let me get this straight you the Morlocks the strongest monsters in my army were defeated by two girls and a man with an ax and you lost the horn? Yes master but the two girls used magic against us. I don't care if they threw rocks at you. You out numbered them by at least a hundred and you were defeated. With that Morgoth sent a ball of black fire at the two scouts disintegrating them instantly. Morgoth then walked into the vast vaults of Angband. What is your wish my lord? The Orc Slavemaster hissed as Morgoth came into the hatchery. The hatchery was a large cavern (like the one in Isengard) where Orcs, Morlocks, Goblins, Trolls, and even special demons were spawned here. I want you to increase the spawning of our monsters in two weeks I want to hear that we are going to have to excavate new chambers to just hold them all Then have them armed and armored in a month. But my Lord we can't arm that many soilders in a months time we don't have the means. then chop down the forests around us burn the fires night and day. Yes master.

"Where is this? are you sure you're going the right way?" Hank whispered as the two of them stepped near the rocky wall.

Liam gestured and the two, crouching low behind the bushes stayed still, observing. "Someone's coming," Liam said as Hank loosened his bow.

Talin suddenly heard a rustle of leaves from the near by bushes. Come out there Talin yelled getting his axe ready if it were Orcs. Two men slowly stood up one armed with a bow the other a staff. Lower your weapons I mean you no harm Talin said as he lowered his axe. Now what are you doing in my forest? We are searching for our two companions who were kidnapped by a party of Morgoths monsters. Your friends are safe I rescued them from the monsters they are in my home follow me. Talin led his new guests to his home deep in the mountain. Ryaren, Arela I believe I have found your companions.

Morgoth was watching the destruction of the forests around Angband from one of the many battlements of the Tower. Massive parties of Orcs and Trolls were hewing trees down at a rapid speed. The trees then were transported from a deep Valley into Angband. The Fortress was built right into the Mountains of Iron it was surrounded by a wall that was as tall and a thick as the wall of the ancient city Jericho. The Gate of the fortress is 100 feet tall and 150 feet wide and made of black Iron. The gates were guarded by two hills on both sides of the valley. Deep within the hills were two forts garrisoned with Orcs. Thus Angband was well defended from attack. From the torture chambers in it dungeons, to its fiery factories of war, eyeless prisons, mighty courts Angband is a place of Terror and unthinkable horrors. The Fortress also went hundreds of feet underground massive factories and smithies forge the weapons and engines of death, large dens for the wolves that the orcs ride, treasuries and armories hold the wealth of countless centuries of endless war. The Fortress of Angband personifies the thought of hell on earth and all people fear it. Master I bring word from the caves we have begun to excavate deeper into the mountain a goblin Slavemaster hissed. Very good tell the workers in the forest to work harder rip the trees down if they have to. Yes master.

"Ryaren, Arela," Liam said with relief. There was no need to check for the horn, he could feel it there, sitting in Ryaren's pack.

"Liam, Hank," Arela said, "This is Talin. He rescued us from the camp."

Liam nodded. He had guessed that much. "I thank you for the help, but we must go. Our presence here is endangering everyone."

Hank shifted his bow. "And where do you plan to go Liam? I bet the whole legion of hell will come chasing after us. As long as you have the horn, it's not safe."

Talin listened to the conversation for a moment then interrupted the man named Liam. If you are worried about Morgoth's servants finding this place you do not need to fear. Dwarvish and Christian magic protect my home only Morgoth himself could find my home. So for the moment we are all safe. So please rest for a while and as your friends had told me earlier you cold tell me what is so important about this horn.

This place was so secret that Liam could not be sure of it. As a guardian he was supposed to know most things in the world, and not knowing about this group of people and their hidden residence slightly irritated him. Nevertheless, he should thank Talin for rescuing his two charges, and the Kendarila as well. He did not detect much dishonesty in this man so he nodded to Ryaren. Now that he was near Ryaren and the horn, if anything did happen, he could protect them unlike the last time.

"This," Ryaren lifted the horn and unclothed it, "Is the Kendarila. The legendary horn that holds enormous power to its user." she paused slightly, since a problem plagued her as she still did not know much about the horn. "Liam is the guardian of the horn. You can see why the men outside are so keen to get their hands on it."

"You should lead us out Talin," Liam said sternly, "Sheltering us means inviting trouble. We should leave this place as soon as possible."

Very well Talin agreed but it goes against my better judgment Morgoth is sure to have discovered that his troops failed by now and will probably send out more of his new monsters and demons to capture you. If you will head my advice let me lead you out of the forest and to where ever you whish to go that way at least I’ll be sure that you all are safe for their are dangers in the forest that do not come from Morgoth..

Liam nodded, silently taking up Talin's offer despite the fact that this will also place Talin in danger. But with this situation and the enormity of the thing they were carrying, they would need any help they could get.

"Arela, Hank, i want the two of you to go ahead of us," Liam said suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Arela asked, perplexed.

"Go to the garrison situated north of here and get reinforcement from captain Megnak."

"Sounds like a fine plan," Hank agreed, catching Arela's eyes.

Ryaren stood up, holding the horn in two hands. She was worried about the whole group and this plan of Liam's, but there did not seem to be much of a choice for her. "Ready to move when you are," Liam said to Talin.

Talin shook his head then turned to Hank and Arela take this tunnel then go straight through the forest and find the ancient Dwarf Road that will lead you to the Garrison and take these Talin gave them two mail hauberks these are dwarf made. So they are light as a feather but will protect you against every thing except magic. Arela and Hank gave him their thanks then went through the tunnel. Now if I may suggest since Ryaren is the keeper of this magic horn she should be protected my home carries a great supply of armor and weapons both Dwarf and man made. I would suggest the same to you as well Liam.

Meanwhile at Angband
Morgoth stood above the armory thousands of Fire demons, Morlocks, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, and Men were being armed. The Fire demons wore no armor but held a sword an axe, a war hammer, or a whip. The Morlocks wore an armor that consisted of a leather tunic and groin-guard, over which was worn a short-sleeved mail hauberk and breastplate; the legs were protected with greaves and sabatons. The only difference in armor was found in the helmets; the basic design for all except the archers was a bowl shape that was cut around the maw allowing the Morlocks to bite in close combat. Both helmets had a fan-shaped crest and an eye slit, but the swordsmen’s was additionally fitted with cheek-plates that extended into blades. These were precisely the width of a man’s eyes, giving the Morlock an additional means of killing his enemy. The weapons of the Morlocks differed between pikes, Crossbows, and a Falchion. The Morlocks shields were simple flat sheets of metal with the Insignia of the Wolf. The Orcs and Goblins wore mostly poorly made mail hauberks which were worn a very basic and crude collar, cuirass, fauld, and sets of pauldrons each consisting of no more than three or four metal plates that had been riveted together. Their helmets were fitted with visors to block out the sun. The helmet of one orc was not identical to that of another. Some were full faced helms, some had trap-door visors. While others had beak like nasals to protect the face. Shields too were not identical some were crescent shaped others were just sheets of iron, and others were shaped like the wings of a demon but all bore their masters insignia. The Orcs weapons varied from swords, hammers, axes, spears, pikes, glaives, or halbreds. And then the trolls all wore helmets some with horns, some with spikes, and all with cheek-guards. The trolls wore no armor and carried no shields but their weapons were massive clubs the size of oak trees or spiked hammers. And finally the men under Morgoths service. They like the Orcs wore different types of armor and wielded different types of weapons. The troops kept marching in and out of the armories then headed for the massive parade grounds there they took up formations planned by their generals. The armies spread out like a roaring sea here and there and Orc or man waiting for Morgoth to release them upon the unsuspecting world. Morgoth stepped towards an open podium that over looked the massive army. At the sight of their master the armies gave a great roar yelling: Morgoth Rules! My children, Morgoth spoke softly. Soon you shall march from the gates of Angband and destroy the world of men. More roars from the army. You shall crush all that is good and pure in this world and turn it into a world of darkness our enemies shall become our slaves. Then when I have the sacred horn no force in the cosmos shall stop me. So rejoice my warriors for soon the war will be over and the Reign of Morgoth shall begin.

Arela fingered the material, mersmerised by the skill required behind making such an armour. Giving Ryaren a quick hug, who was holding up bravely, she acknowledged Hank's motion and disappeared into the tunnel after him. She did not say anything to Liam for she knew the guardian would try the hardest to protect the horn and Ryaren. For now, the outcome depended on her and Hank reaching the garrison in time to bring back reinforcement.
----

"I appreciate your help," Liam said to Talin. He did not say 'thank you' or 'thanks for very' since Talin was obviously helping them out of concern and generosity. Without further words, Liam and Ryaren followed Talin to choose some armours and weapons. Ryaren would very much like to have some armour on. All she had was on was a robe, the usual wear, and the sword she carried could only help that much in a battle. She peered at the horn, pulling back the cloth a bit to look at the archaic pattern etched on it. Could she use the horn perhaps? would that help solve the problem? she lifted her eyes. Talin was in front with Liam behind her. She could hear the steps both men made, light as a feather and silent as a cat. If it was that easy, Liam would not have needed any reinforcement.

Talin turned to Ryaren to figure her size for some mail he then turned to the armory and began to search for a full shirt of mail that would fit. A few minutes later he came back with a hauberk of mail and a cuirass of boiled leather laced up the front with rawhide points. Here you go this will protect you and will still give you great maneuverability. He then turned to Liam and measured his size and came back with the following: a long skirt of leaf-mail belted at the waist, and a mail shirt. You can wear that over your clothes when your done I'll get you both a good sword. After they had put on the armor he gave them two swords. Liam’s sword was a long two-handed sword of excellent workmanship. It had a subtle elongated leaf shape; the cross guard bore a small, uncut, pale blue stone. The sword name is Tranguil or the Orc-hammer it was once wielded by a great King from the North. We found it here when my great grandfather and his people settled here. The King had probably sent it to be re-forged by the Dwarves before Morgoth scared them away use it well. Ryaren was given a full-sized sword, which measured nearly three feet in length, including the hilt. My Grandmother used this sword. Now then let me get ready and we shall be off. Talin was gone for five minutes then came back armored and armed. He wore a thick shirt of mail and a skirt of mail belted at the waist. He wore forest green leather over the mail and boiled leather bracers covered his arms. He carried his battle-ax, bow, and quiver over his back and a small stabbing sword at his hip. Now then lets move out.

Ryaren accepted the sword wordlessly, knowing how much it must have costed Talin to part with it. If possible, she would rather run and hide than stay to fight. Her way of fighting with illusion to fool the enemy was more familiar, and sometimes, more effective, but it was good to have a weapon in hand in case things didn't go as planned. Meanwhile, Liam was declining Talin's offer of the King's sword.

"This staff is my old partner." he said simply, trusting that Talin would understand.

Talin nodded in understanding and laid the sword aside. He then lead Liam and Ryaren to the main entrance of his home. Talin slowly opened the doors and took a quick look around to see if there was any danger. All right lets go. Liam and Ryaren quickly exited the tunnel then waited for Talin to close the secret doors. Now what village or town do you want to go to?

Meanwhile back in Angband.
Morgoth was in a massive library filled with dark magic’s contemplating his battle plan his armies were ready yet they lacked a General that would lead them to victory. His Orcs although intelligent were too barbaric to command his armies. The Men in his armies came from many lands and would not follow a general of another tribe willingly. His Morlocks although strong were not Military geniuses. His demons although intelligent were to be used for another purpose. Morgoth then went to the spawning pits. What is your wish my lord the Orc Jailer hissed? Morgoth turned to him. Bring me a demon, a man, an Orc, and a Morlock immediately. The Orc went to obey. Morgoth then went to a deep, slimy, empty hole where his fell monsters were born. The demon, man, orc, and Morlock arrived and bowed to their master. You four are about to do me a great survive; your sacrifice will bring forth a creature that shall lead my armies. We shall do as you wish master. Morgoth then took out his sword and slew them in one slash. Morgoth then threw each body into the pit. He cleaned his sword and seethed it he then took a knife and cut his palm. Morgoth's black blood poured out and sprinkled the bodies, a second later the wound had healed. Morgoth then chanted dark magics into the pit. The orc jailer came over to Morgoth in awe and fear. In three days a great monster will be born from this pit as soon as it dose bring it to me. Yes master.
