  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Question.

How long was Adam Alone before God created Eve?

According to Genesis 2/3
1) God formed man from the dust
2) then planted a garden & put the man in the garden
3) then grew every tree that's pleasant to the sight
4) then had the man put in the garden of Eden to dress it & keep it
5) then instructed him to Not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil
6) then decided to make a help meet for him
7) but first. God then formed every beast of the field, fowl of the air & Adam had to name them
8) then Adam gave names to all cattle, fowl, and beast of the field.
9) after all that was done, THEN God made Adam go into a deep sleep & created Eve.

So how long did it take to make the Garden, Trees, All the Beast / fowl / Cattle and then Name all the Cattle, Fowl, and Beast ?

So Eve (According to you post) was Created 3 Days 1 Hour After Adam Correct ?

So given that Doves & Crows are not the same Kind (Both Kinds were brought on the Ark) how many Kinds of Birds are their that Adam Named ? (Right now there are around 8,000 to 9,000 species of Birds alone (Not counting Bats that are counted as Fowl in the bible)
so that's over 2 Names per second for just the Fowl of the Air to be named, not counting Cattle & Beast to be named in that hour(According to AV)

First, you have to justify 1 then 2 then 3 then ...
I don't think you can logically do that. Many of them could overlap (e.g. 3 and 2) and not necessary in a sequence like you suggested (e.g. 8 and 9).

Before these can be cleared up, the question is meaningless. It could happen before the Garden was set up.

One kind could include many species. It depends on the wisdom of Adam.

Time does not matter in the Garden. The sequence matters.

None of them Answer the Question I'm Asking.
(Too hard for you AV? )

The time does not matter.
Get use to it now. That is what it will be.

1) Genesis 2:8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
2&3) Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

4) Genesis 2:15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

5) Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

A garden has no tree is not a garden.
So, Gen 2: 8-9 MUST not be in sequence.

There is no reason that Gen2:16-17 could not take place before, or at the same time, as that in Gen2: 15.

Gen 1 must be seen in a orderly sequence.
Gen 2 must NOT be seen as such.

Yes, the only things that are in sequence are those that agree with you, everything else must NOT be seen as in sequence. Got it.

Why even bring up how many bird species there are TODAY? Or even how many were aboard the ark. It is not even relevant.

To answer the OP, Adam was alone for less than a day before God created Eve.

Gen 2 is NOT the description of the creation process. It is an explanation, review and elaboration of creation.

If you sincerely ask me, I will tell you how to understand Gen 2:4-6.

So Either AV's got it wrong or you've got it wrong as one has it at 3 Days 1 Hour, the other under a day.

You could help with some logical explanations. But I get it, since you don't have any you resort to ad hominems. Yes, I can figure it out on my own. And here is what I figure: I wouldn't need help or a companion just hours after I was created.

And oh, the surprise! And God created Adam, and then he saw Adam needed "help" (as if he didn't know that before). And then he "saw it was good" (as if he didn't know that before). It does not make sense.

A help meet. Like an aid. A companion. A wife. To the only, sole existing, human being on the planet.

It should not be that difficult to understand.

For a start Adam certainly didn't know anything about sex so why would he need a wife?
Adam was not good on geography because he would not have known anything existed outside of the garden, for him the planet would have been the garden so he would not have known he was the sole existing human being on the planet.
It's only a badly made up story to try and account for everything including us being here, today it's a children's story.
It should not be that difficult to understand.
It only makes sense because you want it to make sense, any other story and you would also say 'It doesn't make sense',
it's a story someone who knew nothing about the world would make up to explain how everything got here.

Didn't know about sex? So he didn't have a penis? Really?

How would you know any of that? Adam was created with language capabilities and could name all the animals. He was perfectly made as an adult so was probably a lot smarter than us. Why would God not show him creation?

Where does the Bible say Perfectly Made?
