Hi Marilyn, the person has to come from the Gentile nations; and when Jesus returns, the person will be ruling the Gentile (fourth) kingdom, not as Israel's king.

The person has to have some gentile ancestry, somewhere in his bloodline, but he will be a Jew.

Satan was the anointed cherub, until iniquity - sin - was found in him. Ezekiel 28:14. Which Satan lost his anointing, because he wanted to sit on God's throne. In similitude, the Antichrist, anointed King of Israel by the false prophet, when he commits the transgression of desolation act of sitting in the temple of God, claiming to have achieved God-hood - revealing himself to be the man of sin, it will end his time as the King of Israel.

And will be killed for it, in Ezekiel 28:1-10. And brought back to life in Isaiah 18-20, likened as an abominable branch, because he destroys his land and his people - indicating that he will be a Jew, and descended from David.

Brought back to life, the person will be leader of the fourth gentile kingdom, dictator, as the ten kings hand over their kingdom to him. imo, it is likely that he will emphasis his Caesar family ancestry at that time.

What distinguishing characteristic identifies the Jew that God recognizes?

1. DNA
2. Religion (i.e. Babylonian talmudism)
3. Culture (e.g. kosher diet)
4. Faithfulness and obedience to His Son

There are countless Jews in the world from outside of Israel, of the gentile nations. The person who becomes the Antichrist, false prophet anointed King of Israel, will come from the EU.

It is not ten nations in the text, but ten kings. The EU could be organized into ten regions, once all the changes take place. There also may be some other nations leaving the EU besides Great Britain.

God will yet bring true Israelites to receive Him as their Messiah. Those born of Abraham.

What!!!! Where did I say Jesus was a Gentile. Not following Dougie. Oh for someone coming in their own name, means just that. The Jews will receive the Peace negotiator because he seemingly brings peace, NOT because he says he is their Messiah.

The peace treaty will be very soon, and after the Russian war when God deals with them and the others with them. Now after that Israel could very well retaliate against the Moslems for Iran was there too. But no, they opt for peace and a man from the area of ancient Assyria, (Iraq, Syria & Jordan) will step up and confirm the Covenant/treaty that Israel has written.

Every Gentile kingdom in the Great image has Gentile Rulers and they will all be judged. Four have already and one to go.
