And I see no moral conflict there because Rhodes was a racist and doesn't deserve the scholarship in his name. It would be like a school in German having a Hitler scholarship with a Jewish person being awarded it but complaining that a Hitler statue should be removed.

Bud, I came from a family who lived in abject poverty and still wouldn't accept charity. We earned what we got, we didn't expect others to give us "a living". We certainly wouldn't have accepted "government welfare" which is nothing but legalized theft. I grew up reading Horatio Alger stories. And only a leftist would call someone giving an example of someone who succeeded in life...bragging.

Odds approach 100% that you got some form of government welfare, but didn't call it that.
