  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Accept Christ's Word in Mark 7:6-13 - or reject it??

Do you Accept the teaching of Christ in Mark 7:6-13?

  • Yes I fully accept his affirmation of God's Commandments in Mark 7:6-13

  • No I reject Christ's teaching at that point

  • I pick and choose -- some of it Might accept

  • I am still debating it with myself

  • This is the first I have heard of this - so I don't know yet

For any others wondering my position, the whole OT law is dead for Christians,

That's your position, clearly. But you haven't yet discovered the Gospel's position, which is that the reborn sinner is dead to the Law. The Law must be very much alive still if the saved sinner must be dead to it.

You're mixed up; not the Gospel or the Law.

The "Not one jot or title will be struck from the law" statement Christ made, that is true as well, for those outside Christ, those of the world, those that havnt accepted Christs new covenant

True; and true for any and all of <<those outside Christ, those of the world, those that have not accepted Christ's New Covenant>>. Nothing conditional about it! Because the Law is clear and “SHARPER than a two edged sword” SO ALIVE AND VALID, and for everyone under the sun without distinction, SO EFFECTIVE.

Can you differentiate who Christ is talking to and when
Jesus is talking to a Jew.
We are not Jews, we are christians, we have a different covenant.

What Jewish laws do we keep, what ones do we dismiss, simple question

Hint - New Covenant

"THIS is the Covenant I will make with the HOUSE of ISRAEL and the HOUSE of Judah" Jeremiah 31:31-33

And another big hint is in Matt 28 where we are told to teach everyone else what HE TAUGHT in the Gospels.

If that is not enough ... in Matt 24 it is "THIS Gospel of the kingdom" that is to be preached in all the world.

Just when you are certain you are to ignore the teaching of Christ - because it is "not for you" in your theology.

Why go down that road?
