Hint: It's very big and kinda spherical (an oblate spheroid to be exact). And you're either up very late indeed or you are a really early riser. I just checked the the time in Swansea as I need to call my brother to wish him happy birthday. But anyway, you can't see the sun yet, but I can. For the very same reason.

To be honest I don't really understand all this - But I'm all ears.

Mmm...

OK. Get a ball and hold it above a piece of paper that has 4 small crosses on it (the Southern Cross is made up of 4 stars). Imagine that you are very, very small and are standing on the top of the ball. That's the UK. The ball is the earth. If you look down, all you see is the ball. It blocks you from seeing the crosses on the paper.

Now imagine you walk around the ball to the side closest to the paper (you won't fall off because...gravity). Now you're in Australia. G'day. Now if you look 'up', that is - away from the ball to the paper, you can see the crosses! Brilliant, eh?

Well this is one way of explaining it - Thanks.

But I reckon Eric is right when he says it depends where you are the ball or a flat sur-face, this goes for the moon & the pole star.

You're welcome.

That's been explained to you.

At certain times someone in the northern hemisphere will be able to see the same moon as me (well, there is only one moon). I mean see it at the same time. Magadan in Russia is pretty much on the same longitude as Sydney (check it on Google maps). When it's dark here, it's dark there and when it's midnight here it's the same time there.

If the moon is on the horizon in the south in Magadon it will be on the horizon in the north from where I am. And Ivan will see the moon as you see it - the left hand view in the post above. And I'll see it upside down - the right hand view.

Well you must be further south than Magadon.

Well, yeah. About as far south of the equator as Magadon is north. So imagine holding the ball as you did last time, and the moon is way over to the side at the same level. Ivan is just about standing upright on the ball and I'm standing what looks like it's upside down to him (gravity again...). He sees the moon looking one way and I see it upside down compared to his view.

But like Eric said, it depends where you are in how you view it.
North, right way up
South upside down

That's right. But when it's on the horizon that doesn't apply.

I don't even know what's north or south on a flat earth map. I suppose north is to the centre. South is...any which way away from north? Where is the horizon for someone in Sydney? How can the moon be near the south horizon when you're in Russia and at the same time be near the north horizon when you're in Australia?

You know none of it makes sense? Who told you all this nonsense? Didn't you do geography in school?

We've already been through a bunch of these 'proofs' put forward by Eric 'the idiot' Dubay and shown them to be complete bunk. Does the improved audio mean he has someone else narrating other than him?

And I have @d taylor , I've just left two threads b/c of this, I was hoping this one maybe different.
Why would you think that?
a) You have said that you cannot prove your own theory.
b) The only thing you seem to have any faith in is the YouTube god - and a few misinterpreted verses from the Bible.
c) You have just said that all the eyewitness accounts by born again Christians are likely to be by deluded Freemasons who faked their photos. You have no evidence of that libellous statement whatsoever. How Christian of you to dismiss everything that astronauts have seen and experienced with an arrogant "they're lying." Why do you not trust them but trust strangers on YouTube? Oh yes, because the latter back up your theory.
d) You ignore explanations that you are given by people who understand far more about science than you do.
e) This thread is in the conspiracy section of the forum - and by the way, the OP was a joke.

You believe in a flat earth. You are allowed to hold that belief.
But if you start, or enter, a discussion on the subject, that implies you want a reasonable debate. Saying "I'm right, and so is YouTube; everything else is fake and the people are lying" is not debate. It's libel/goading and flaming.

For them to admit it's flat, what does this say about us F/E believers ?
Assuming that there ARE documents in which the government has said that the earth is flat; that you've persuaded some officials to join you.

You can't trust politicians.
