Don't know for absolute-certain

But, as I have been sick, immediately-after / while swallowing food and also, at just 'the thought' of trying to swallow ~over this past 9 days (?) I suspect, that I am also coming down with, esophageal cancer

A bout, of food poisoning, would have been long-gone by now
Just like Mary, as soon as anything with edges hits the windpipe
the eruption is "spectacular"

I keep an empty 3 gallon paint container (plastic) within three feet or so
Just in case Vesuvius, has a 'repeat'

I am, I believe able to retain some food, with persistence
(another mouthful, in ten minutes)
especially, 'tinned-soups' which are much-easier to consume

My experience suggests that whatever remains in my stomach (at bedtime)
is highly acidic and maybe some water before sleep, might keep it more dilute

I'm sorry to hear this Dave and trust that you are going to the doctors. Meanwhile it might be worth phoning them (or a pharmacy) to see if there is anything you can take. Joining in prayer for you bro'.

Praying for you also, Bro. Dave, for your healing. Praying that you will be able to have it examined by the Doctors soon to determine the cause and what the exact health problem is to be treated. Praying the Drs. will get the condition treated early, and for a total cure; for total healing, and that you will be able to eat foods well without any problems.

Yes, it has been 'quite the experience'
and just so everyone 'knows' where I am, with this ?

I have had two days OFF since last attack
have successfully swallowed Ham sandwiches and microwaved-chips
without having it it rejected

If I had also suffered Diarrhoea then I would have written-it-off as tummy bug
But it seemed as if my stomach juices, could 'sense' food in-transit
and would boil over, before 'contact' (?)

in the event a scan shows a mass/tumour is present
~I would request that I have a gastric-peg installed
Just so long as nutrient gets into the gut, the route doesn't matter so-much
¬
I suspect, that my having-to limit my fluid (from all sources)
to just 1.5 liters per day, is contributing to the increased concentration
of stomach acid being held down there causing reflux and spontaneous fire-hose bore vomits

I have hopes of getting back to Bristol _I am sure it will happen one-day
I have 'dreamed' of it (already) ... God willing, it-will happen!!!

Dave, that sounds good news if you can eat sandwiches and chips, and a specific answer to prayer. However please get it checked out. Partly in case it is serious, but also if it is minor you will be able to get the best treatment and have your mind put at rest. (I was going to recommend an over-the-counter product but didn't in case it would have an adverse effect on existing medicines.) Bear in mind that you may be more attuned to thinking that it is cancer because of Mary's experience. Also anxiety can play havoc with the digestive system. Whatever the cause the doctor can give you the right treatment and I pray that the Lord will give you guidance in this.

Mary would get stuck at bread and potato
and, these were (are) the items
that quickly prompt these eructations, reflux and vomiting in me

I now ADD more Butter (and Milk) to my mashed spud which aids it's SLIP
into my tummy
If I could butter my bread on both sides without making a mess I WOULD
I do now PLASTER IT ON to each slice

I ate Chicken Tikka Masala last night, over Uncle Ben's Egg Fried Rice
It went-down 'a treat' no problem
But when I awoke this morning and began to make moves, to go make coffee
swallow my baby's rattle [all seven pieces] and make some breakfast cereal
The need to throw (on an empty stomach) was PRIME
I drank a cup of water and immediately discharged, drank some further water
and this stayed-down

I will attempt some cereal in an hour or so

Well it has been some two-weeks
since, the 'onset', of this particular symptom
and while it is inconvenient, I can 'fill-in' _the (nutritional) gaps, by 'snacking'

knubs of Cheese, slices of Beetroot, SLICES of Ham, Biscuits to dunk in my coffee, and the like....... The chances are, that I, am wearing a path, to and from my fridge and kitchen cupboards

I have ditched the 'small' Warburtons Toastie loaf that I usually buy
and now buy packs of six small Baps_ [less waste - less green mold]

I can use them for making sandwiches / tearing-apart, to dunk in soup. etc

I have ceased FRYING my bacon....
I now do it in the microwave [no fat and, no burnt or, crusty bits] and I also
now cook the Rinds and 'Crackling' (fat) separately, ~for feeding, to the dogs

As I SEE IT
our 'natural lives' are not 'quantified'/'quantifiable'
(let's say: ~as a GUARANTEED '3 score + 10' (?) ....)
I MADE IT to Seventy \o/ but, a great very many, do not
