No it's not.

The desolation of the temple is what Luke talks about and what Daniel refers to.

Luke in chapter 21 just refers to the desolation or destruction of the temple.

Luke 21:20
But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.

The temple and Jerusalem are ruined, desolate, and that is an abomination.
There is more than one fulfillment of that Scripture/prophecy. One has obviously already happened, the second has not.

There will never be another temple built. Those animal sacrifices to God are an abomination to him and the ultimate sacrifice Jesus his Son. Look at what scripture has to say about it:

Hebrews 10:1-10
[1]For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3]But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
[5]Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
[6]In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
[7]Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
[8]Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
[9]Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
[10]By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
your logic fails at every turn. The return of the sacrifice in a future prophetic setting is setting the stage so the man of sin can be revealed. God is not looking at these sacrifices as any form of atonement. This is when the man of sin performs lying signs and wonders and even the elect would have been fooled. This does not describe 70AD at all. Now Hosea speaks of Israel being called not God's people but also talks of a future day where in the very same place Jezreel they shall be called sons of the living God. When does this happen? Hosea 3 speaks of Israel going many days without a king or a sacrifice but in the latter they will consider this and the kingdom comes back at the same time the sacrifice comes back. So in Jesus day the sacrifice had not been stopped for many days. But now it has and there is a very strong movement to bring it back right now which is great evidecce screaming that these things are indeed future and literal.

They are already preparing to rebuild it.

Jews that are not messianic Jews don't believe that their messiah has come and don't believe that he will come until they build the temple.

They already have most of the religious implements, the altar, the robes are made, the line to be priests has been miraculously preserved. The plans are already drawn up.

The place where it will be built...is the hold up.

However, new archeology has found that the temple was not on the temple mount where the Dome is. It was actually south of this in the area known as "the City of David"... This is where the "threshing floor is.

It is only a matter of time, as excavation continues, that the rest of the leaders will concur and the building will begin.

Here, watch this.. Very informative however there are numerous presentations on this subject as it is nearing fruition.

Let the show begin. I'm stocked up on popcorn.

Sozomen (ca. A.D.375-447)
"Ecclesiastical History"
Book V, Chapter XXII

Though the emperor [Julian the Apostate] hated and opressed the Christians, he manifested benevolence and humanity towards the Jews. He wrote to the Jewish patriarchs and leaders, as well as to the people, requesting them to pray for him, and for the prosperity of the empire. In taking this step he was not actuated, I am convinced, by any respect for their religion; for he was aware that it is, so to speak, the mother of the Christian religion, and he knew that both religions rest upon the authority of the patriarchs and the prophets; but he thought to grieve the Christians by favoring the Jews, who are their most inveterate enemies. But perhaps he also calculated upon persuading the Jews to embrace paganism and sacrifices; for they were only acquainted with the mere letter of Scripture, and could not, like the Christians and a few of the wisest among the Hebrews, discern the hidden meaning.

Events proved that this was his real motive; for he sent for some of the chiefs of the race and exhorted them to return to the observance of the laws of Moses and the customs of their fathers. On their replying that because the temple in Jerusalem was overturned, it was neither lawful nor ancestral to do this in another place than the metropolis out of which they had been cast, he gave them public money, commanded them to rebuild the temple, and to practice the cult similar to that of their ancestors, by sacrificing after the ancient way. The Jews entered upon the undertaking, without reflecting that, according to the prediction of the holy prophets, it could not be accomplished. They sought for the most skillful artisans, collected materials, cleared the ground, and entered so earnestly upon the task, that even the women carried heaps of earth, and brought their necklaces and other female ornaments towards defraying the expense. The emperor, the other pagans, and all the Jews, regarded every other undertaking as secondary in importance to this. Although the pagans were not well-disposed towards the Jews, yet they assisted them in this enterprise, because they reckoned upon its ultimate success, and hoped by this means to falsify the prophecies of Christ. Besides this motive, the Jews themselves were impelled by the consideration that the time had arrived for rebuilding their temple. When they had removed the ruins of the former building, they dug up the ground and cleared away its foundation; it is said that on the following day when they were about to lay the first foundation, a great earthquake occurred, and by the violent agitation of the earth, stones were thrown up from the depths, by which those of the Jews who were engaged in the work were wounded, as likewise those who were merely looking on. The houses and public porticos, near the site of the temple, in which they had diverted themselves, were suddenly thrown down; many were caught thereby, some perished immediately, others were found half dead and mutilated of hands or legs, others were injured in other parts of the body. When God caused the earthquake to cease, the workmen who survived again returned to their task, partly because such was the edict of the emperor, and partly because they were themselves interested in the undertaking. Men often, in endeavoring to gratify their own passions, seek what is injurious to them, reject what would be truly advantageous, and are deluded-by the idea that nothing is really useful except what is agreeable to them. When once led astray by this error, they are no longer able to act in a manner conducive to their own interests, or to take warning by the calamities which are visited upon them.

The Jews, I believe, were just in this state; for, instead of regarding this unexpected earthquake as a manifest indication that God was opposed to the re-erection of their temple, they proceeded to recommence the work. But all parties relate, that they had scarcely returned to the undertaking, when fire burst suddenly from the foundations of the temple, and consumed several of the workmen.

This fact is fearlessly stated, and believed by all; the only discrepancy in the narrative is that some maintain that flame burst from the interior of the temple, as the workmen were striving to force an entrance, while others say that the fire proceeded directly from the earth. In whichever way the phenomenon might have occurred, it is equally wonderful. A more tangible and still more extraordinary prodigy ensued; suddenly the sign of the cross appeared spontaneously on the garments of the persons engaged in the undertaking. These crosses were disposed like stars, and appeared the work of art. Many were hence led to confess that Christ is God, and that the rebuilding of the temple was not pleasing to Him; others presented themselves in the church, were initiated, and besought Christ, with hymns and supplications, to pardon their transgression. If any one does not feel disposed to believe my narrative, let him go and be convinced by those who heard the facts I have related from the eyewitnesses of them, for they are still alive. Let him inquire, also, of the Jews and pagans who left the work in an incomplete state, or who, to speak more accurately, were able to commence it.

bro you can keep on smoking what ever you are smoking but the return of the sacrifice is clearly a key element for the abomination of desolation to take place. The beast only has control over every tribe tongue kindred and nation for 42 moths and he is destroyed and cast into the lake of fire while Satan is only said to be bound for 1000 years. The nations which were deceived are said not to be deceived again until the 1000 years are over. So how can you have Islam arrive and deceive many nations fo r over 1500 years. Jesus is supposed to sit on David's throne and rule with a rod of iron and establish his kingdom with justice and judgment from that time forever and not leave any trace of mans kingdoms and man will learn war no more and peace will cover the earth from that time forever. This is not talking about the New Jerusalem but painting a before and after picture of the world before Jesus comes and after he returns. This is now a study in prophecy and current events.

Preparing to build and the Lord allowing it to be rebuilt are two different things. Don't look to Jerusalem below for the prophecies to be fulfilled. I used to think the same way you did until the Lord ppened my eyes to the scriptures.

In bible prophecy we have to get to the basics of it all and that is understanding the symbols. I see alot of people's thoughts are scattered. We have to understand these points to get a good understanding on the prophetic language. All of God's people are Israel, the beast that had the deadly wound is the papacy, the lamblike beast is the US, the false prophet is apostate Protestantism.

The forty two months, is the same as 1260 days. Day for a year principal:

Numbers 14:34 KJV — After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

1260 years have passed, and that ended with the deadly wound the beast received in 1798.

Also the US is the lamblike beast, not Islam. Its alot to say but only the Spirit can make these things understood.

It's about the down of the Temple (God's earthly Tabernacle or Church).

It's first prophesied by Daniel possibly with the destruction of the First Temple, and for God to prophesy the down of the Second Temple. A prophet's job is to prophesy a recent event for God to prophesy a further one. Jesus continued the prophecy of the destruction of the Second Temple, and for God to prophesy the down of the earthly Church when the very end comes.

destruction in a sense, not necessary to be a physical one though.

For example, when earthly Church as a whole accepts homosexuality to be legal even inside churches, then it can be considered as the destruction of the earthly Church by an abomination.

Thanks for the sarcasm friend, but the bible is where i get my information from. Being educated with man's wisdom means nothing to our Lord. You have a good one.

HI you go back to Ezekiel 36-40 and you see it is addressed to those who have been brought back to the mountains of Israel that have long been desolate. In Israel when Islam took over they put in a tree tax and the forests were cut down. Israel was indeed a desolation for many years. Mark Twain wrote about it. The Bible says Israel will be desolate when the Jews are in exile but will bloom like the garden of Eden when they return. Well that has held true to. God promises these who are gathered back that He will remove the reproach of nations and be hallowed in their eyes. He also notes that these who have been gathered back were brought back for the LORD's Own Name sake and that they had profaned His name in all the nations where they were scattered. The world is moving towards a one world government. The pope is pushing a one world religion where all paths are the same. the cashless system is ready to be installed. The Temple sacrifice is all prepared for. Rev 6 has hyperinflation on a global level and ethnic wars all over the earth and we see the migration all over the world has set up these battle lines. Hosea 3 speaking of the return of the kingdom links it to the return of the sacrifice after many days without one. In Jesus day the sacrifice was still going so this sign is later.
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim. 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.
Look at the before and after picture associated with the 2nd coming. Israel is saved. There is world peace. A new river flows year round and the dead sea is healed. There is an abundance of grain in the earth. Satan is bound the nations are no longer deceived. In every account of the coming of the kingdom it is when the LORD comes in ZEch 14 and Jerusalem is being overrun and the LORD slays His enemies and then the LORD is king over all the earth. Same with Dan 7 a pompous ruler rises up and he is persecuting for a time times and half a time and he is destroyed when the kingdom is given to the son of man which is glorious before the ancient of days. His kingdom covers the earth and has no end. In Rev the kingdoms of this earth become the kingdoms of our LORD and His Christ who shall reign forever when Armageddon takes place and the beast and false prophet are thrown into the fire. This is the day of Jezreel Hosea speaks of where it was said those arenot my people shall be called sons of the living God.
This holds Jesus to fulfill Luke 1 exactly with Jesus taking the throne of David and keeping the oaths and performing the covenants that Israel shall be delivered from their enemies and from that point on they will worship and serve the LORD.

67 Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying:
68 “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel,
For He has visited and redeemed His people,
69 And has raised up a horn of salvation for us
In the house of His servant David,
70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets,
Who have been since the world began,
71 That we should be saved from our enemies
And from the hand of all who hate us,
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers
And to remember His holy covenant,
73 The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:
74 To grant us that we,
Being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
Might serve Him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

This my friend is future and I could tie together another 100 prophecies that all tell the same future story.

The gospel of spiritual side of being in the kingdom of heaven is truly a spiritual kingdom and all who's names are in the Lamb's book of life are in the kingdom. The throne of David and the LORD being king over all the earth is not a mutually exclusive idea and both are true and will play out exactly as promised.

Abomination that maketh Desolate

Matthew 24:14-15
[14]And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; AND THEN SHALL THE END COME.
[15]When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand

Where did Daniel speak about an abomination of desolation?

Daniel 11:31 KJV — And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the ABOMINATION THAT MAKETH DESOLATE.

Daniel 11:45
[45]And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

In 508 AD king Clovis and the Franks defeated the Visigoths and paved the way for the papacy to fully develop. See this link on more info about 508ad:
http://www.patmospapers.com/daniel/in508.htm

This was extremely important because the CHURCH (PAPACY) used the STATE (king CLOVIS) to eventually uproot/wipe out 3 Germanic tribes from 508-538 AD. These 3 tribes where the Ostrogoths, Vandals, and Visigoths, they were Arian which means non-Trinitarian. See this link: Arianism - Wikipedia The church fornicating with the state is an ABOMINATION to God.

A pure woman in bible prophecy is a church:

Ephesians 5:25-27
[25]Husbands, love your WIVES, even as Christ ALSO LOVED THE CHURCH, and gave himself for it;
[26]That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
[27]That he might present it to himself a GLORIOUS CHURCH, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

A harlot in bible prophecy is an apostate church:

Jeremiah 3:6-8
[6]The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding ISRAEL hath done? SHE is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath PLAYED THE HARLOT.
[7]And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
[8]And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding ISRAEL COMMITTED ADULTERY I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Israel was the church in the wilderness:

Acts 7:37-38
[37]This is that Moses, WHICH SAID UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
[38]This is he, that was in the CHURCH IN THE WILDERNESS with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Therefore a church is liken to a woman.

Now lets get to the end time application of church and state that Jesus warned us we should look out for.

Revelation 17:3,5,12,16
[3]So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a WOMAN (church) sit upon a scarlet coloured BEAST (kingdom or state, Daniel 7:23), full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns (kings, Daniel 8:21).
[5]And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
[12]And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[16]And the ten horns (kings) which thou sawest upon the beast (church), these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her DESOLATE and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and BURN HER WITH FIRE.

The abomination of the woman is her fornicating with the beast:

Leviticus 18:22-23
[22]Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: IT IS ABOMINATION.
[23]Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Revelation 17:3 is the church and state abomination that maketh her desolate.

Lets look and see how prophecy is being fulfilled today:

Pope Francis’s address to a joint session of Congress on September 24, 2015 marked a first in the history of the Catholic Church and United States.
Pope Francis Visits U.S. Congress/

This happened one day after the Day of Atonement/Judgment Day. One of God's holy days where he judges the children of Israel, and those who didn't afflict their souls and confess their sins were cut off.

The church also met with the kings of the earth the next day on September 25th, 2015:

The Vatican flag will fly at UN headquarters in New York for the first time on September 25, the date when Pope Francis will speak there.

The UN and the Holy See agreed that the Vatican flag would be raised in the morning with no special ceremony, at the same time that flags of other member-nations are raised.

UN will fly Vatican flag for first time during Pope's visit | News Headlines

This was the beginning of the end that Christ alluded to in Matthew 24:15, church and state.

Recently:
NEW YORK - President Donald Trump identified himself as the “best [president] in the history of the Catholic Church” in a conference call for Catholic leaders and educators Saturday, where he warned that issues at stake in the upcoming presidential election, particularly on abortion and religious liberty, “have never been more important for the Church.”
Trump says he's 'best president in history of the Church' in call with Catholic leaders/

This was in April this year. Trump is going to do all he can for the catholic church and that relationship is an abomination.

The constitution of the United States also prohibits this:

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which regulate an establishment of religion, prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the right to peaceably assemble, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.

Now because of this abomination (church and state) God will judge the church and WHEN she is burned with fire this is a judgment from God that has its roots in the law of God.

Revelation 18:2,4-5,8
[2]And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
[4]And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
[5]For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
[8]Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Thus saith the Lord:

Leviticus 21:9
[9]And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

She (the church) has fornicated with the kings of the earth and she will be burnt with fire.

Matthew 11:15 KJV — He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

With regard to what your post implies regarding the harlot:

1. The harlot is a city (Revelation 17:18).

2. It's responsible for the blood of both prophets and saints, "and of all that were slain upon the earth" (Revelation 18:24).

3. No church can be held responsible for the blood of the prophets "and of all that were slain upon the earth", but there is a city that has been justly accused by Christ of the same:

"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." (Matthew 23:33-39).

4. Paul makes a thesis-antithesis comparison between the Jerusalem mentioned in this light by Jesus in Matthew 23:33-39, and the New Jerusalem. The Revelation makes a thesis-antithesis comparison between the New Jerusalem and the harlot:

"For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. " (Galatians 4:25-26).

"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters:" (Revelation 17:1)

"And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife." (Revelation 21:9)

5. The Vatican did not exist when the Revelation was written, and its claims regarding headship and to being the headquarters of the Christian churches are spurious (the headquarters and head of the church is in Michigan. Oh wait, sorry, it's in Jamaica. O wait, sorry, ..)

6. There isn't only one "Christian" harlot.

I don't know what the timing of the A.O.D is or was, nor what the A.O.D itself is or was, but I do believe it's possible that the prophecy which the Lord gave may be repeated at the end of the Age, because:

Jesus opened the Olivet Discourse by saying that at the time when ethnic nation is rising against ethnic nation and political realm against political realm, they (His disciples) will be delivered up to tribulation and be killed, and will be hated of all nations for His name's sake. Then, after saying that the gospel of the Kingdom of Christ will first be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, He speaks about the A.O.D as though it's the sign that this is going to be the greatest tribulation ever experienced by the people of Judea - but in the same breath He states that His elect will be gathered immediately after this tribulation (Matthew 24:9-31).

Thanks for the sarcasm friend, but the bible is where i get my information from. Being educated with man's wisdom means nothing to our Lord. You have a good one.
Funny..... those scholars and educated people that I spoke of... get their information from the same source.

You have a good one too.

I believe the following proves you are correct about the two cities.

What is the wicked "great city" in the Book of Revelation? Is it identified below?

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Rom 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Rom 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Rom 11:3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

Rom 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. (Are there two different groups of Israelites in this passage?)

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2Jn 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2Jn 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
(See Romans 2:28-29)

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

(See Romans 11:1-5 for two different groups of Israelites during the time of Elijah. There was a faithful “remnant” of Israelites, and the rest of the Israelites worshipped Baal.)

Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Where was our Lord crucified?)

Rev_14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Rev_16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Rev_17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Rev_18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
(Is the wicked “great city ”Mystery Babylon”?)

Rev_18:16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

Rev_18:18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

Rev_18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

Rev_18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

What city replaces the wicked "great city"?

Rev_21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

.

Was that person cast alive into the lake of fire by Jesus? And did Jesus's return take place back then?

That's right Douggg.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming (2 Thessalonians 2:8)

Happened in AD 70. And originally in 161 BC when Antiochus sacrificed a pig on the altar.
LOL I don't think we need to go down this road again DaveL but its nice to hear from you

Yes, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters because the demons, spirits of demons, went away into the herd of swine. I mean that spiritually today the herd of swine are fornicators, and idolaters, and adulterers, and effeminate or sodomites, among others, which will perish when the Lord Jesus be revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers, in flaming FIRE taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not His gospel, who will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His Power.

JESUS will come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe in this wonderful and glorious Day, the Lord's Day. By the way, the FIRST punishment that has preceeded JESUS coming, and it is runni8ng, is the PESTILENCE. The next punishment will be of serious FAMINE in the earth. Alsos there will be EARTHQUAKES in divers places - several places, but I do not know where JESUS will do them to happen with the samen Power He used to rebuke the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm, and the disciples marvelled, saying: What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! .
