How did Adam and Eve know the being they were talking to was God? How did they know the being they were talking to was correct?

Just like if you were on a planet with Abe and Benny, how would you know that Abe was God and was right and Benny was not?

You find it out though time. Adam has a lot of time.

God has not done anything to them yet. Nothing you said is known to them.
Eve knew good or evil after ate the fruit. But there is no evil in the Garden except the serpent (I am not sure the serpent is evil at that time). So, basically, Eve knows nothing more and nothing less after she ate the fruit. The fruit certainly does not let her know what is death.

What does the fruit do to those who eat it? May be it brings some memories back. May be it brings back something they knew long time ago but forgot about it. Veil opens up. Or we can say: Eyes are opened suddenly.
Eve didn't understand what death was but she wanted to be like Gods. So, she ate the fruit. Then something happened. Probably something she suddenly could remember. It was something very good and important that is why instead of telling Adam: "I have made horrible mistake! Do not even think about touching this fruit" she said: "Adam here the fruit, eat it like I did. I remember something" and then she would tell him what she remebered.

I think they might have had an idea about death. God told them not to eat of the tree of good and evil lest they 'die'. So they had to have some concept of what that was, right? So. when Eve ate the forbidden fruit, Adam maybe ate it too so he could be with Eve? I dunno, just thinking out loud.

I didn't say that Eve experienced something bad before she ate the fruit. I said that she could remember something she knew before about but forgot when she appeared in the garden in physical body.
She ate the fruit and she remembered some parts of God 's plan. She remembered it was God's plan for them to eat the fruit and to EXPERIENCE good and evil in fallen world(world where there is not only good but evil also)
