Because the Supreme Court says he can.

You have it completely backwards. Read this and try to come up to speed.

I understand the court says he can But that’s not a reason in itself to do anything without some other motive. why does the Biden administration desire to cut down the wire? The wire acts as a deterant and helps the federal government, why is this a bad thing?

Because it can cause serious injury to those trying to get past it.

There are a number of reasons, not all of which are applicable to every situation:

1. The wire is generally set back a ways from the border, so it blocks their access to the border and hinders the performance of their duties (detaining and processing migrants on US soil).
2. It is not enough of a deterrent (see any of the number of photos of people crawling through or over the razor wire) and only serves to injure people needlessly.
3. Some of the locations that it has been placed are especially dangerous (see: razor wire submerged in the river)

Then they shouldn’t try to get past it. They should go to a port of entry. That’s why the wire is there.

Venezuelan Man charged with attacking police in Times Square, vilified in Trump ad, was misidentified, DA says

In the weeks after the brawl, the Manhattan district attorney acknowledged that some of the people initially accused of kicking police were found to have played a less significant role in the melee than previously thought.

Makes no difference in what I posted. So it was another illegal immigrant or asylum seeker that kicked the police. Actually it was several

Apparently Abbott is trying to make sure that illegal aliens will not sneak into Texas, boost state GDP, and lower the crime rate.

No wonder he's horrified at the prospect.

We really don’t know much about how much crime illegal immigrants commit because it’s not officially kept up with.
I know you can post some statistics but they are pretty much meaningless

That's the thing. Texas does keep those numbers. And it turns out that illegal immigrants are significantly less likely to commit crimes than are native- born Americans, while in the United States.

Abstract
The study found that undocumented immigrants had substantially lower crime rates than native-born citizens and legal immigrants across a range of felony offenses. Relative to undocumented immigrants, U.S.-born citizens are over 2 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and over 4 times more likely to be arrested for property crimes. In addition, the proportion of arrests involving undocumented immigrants in Texas was relatively stable or decreasing over this period. The differences between U.S.-born citizens and undocumented immigrants are robust to using alternative estimates of the broader undocumented population, alternate classifications of those counted as “undocumented” at arrest and substituting misdemeanors or convictions as measures of crime.

Since Texas is the only state that records and keeps the immigration statuses of those arrested, we can’t make a direct apples‐to‐apples comparison between Texas and other states (every state should record and keep this information so we can answer this important question). It could be that illegal immigrants in Texas are the most law‐abiding illegal immigrant population in the country – or the least law‐abiding. Until other states start recording and keeping the data, we won’t know for sure.

I find it hard to believe that it makes much of a difference. What evidence do you have for such an assumption?

The data show that illegal immigrants are more law-abiding than native-born Americans. Unless you can show that Texans are more likely to be criminals than residents of other states, I don't think you have much to go on.

A more comprehensive study by the conservative Cato Institute finds data support the same conclusion nationwide.

From your source:
CONCLUSION
Legal and illegal immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated than natives.

Regardless of whether other analyses show that illegal immigrants in all states are similar to those in Texas, we're talking about Greg Abbott's fear of illegal immigrants coming to Texas, boosting the economy and reducing the crime rate.

Are NY and Chicago’s economies being boosted right now? If illegal immigrants are such a positive factor what are these mayors complaining about? They should be asking Texas to send more.

The survey was published in 2020 and looked back. Joe's invitation has brought in criminals and mental patients from many countries.

Texas continues to keep those records. And it hasn't changed.

You have any actual data to support your claim? Neither does anyone else. You surely can do better than that, can't you?

Arrests of Individuals with Criminal Convictions

The term “criminal noncitizens” refers to individuals who have been convicted of one or more crimes, whether in the United States or abroad, prior to interdiction by the U.S. Border Patrol; it does not include convictions for conduct that is not deemed criminal by the United States. Arrests of criminal noncitizens are a subset of total apprehensions by U.S. Border Patrol.

Fiscal Year 2024 runs October 1, 2023- September 30, 2024.

Here are up-to-date CBP arrests so you can see the numbers under both the Trump administration AND Biden administration. There are some bad dudes coming into the country and they are not here to suddenly give up a life of crime. The U.S. provides many new opportunities and victims.

Yes, it seems like they are...

Business Establishments Up Citywide, Especially in Brooklyn

The number of business establishments in New York City, defined by the Census Bureau as a single physical location where business is conducted, such as a store or office, increased 2.2% between the third quarter of 2019 and the same quarter of 2022, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages.1

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. "Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages."
Every borough except for Manhattan has more physical businesses today than before the pandemic.

If illegal immigrants are such a positive factor what are these mayors complaining about?
Housing, mostly. Lots of jobs for them, but not enough housing. Very typical in NY and Chicago.

You think it's a bad thing that the Border Patrol is catching more illegal entries now, since Biden let them focus on enforcement? How do you figure that?

Of course, that has nothing to do with the fact that illegal aliens tend to be more law-abiding then native-born Americans, and the fact that the Texas economy gets a huge boost from the productivity of those workers.
