Will Texas then pay for the wall on the new border?
You know that's a good question. I wondered that years ago. Why don't they vote on a bond where the Texas taxpayer pays for it? Maybe it's cheaper to ship them to other states, who knows?

If they are out of the union that would not be able to do so legally.

Weird how the law goes right out the window for the "Law and Order" party when the law says they can't do something.

Do you think it is OK for people to ignore SCOTUS decisions they don't like?

Read the SCOTUS decision carefully. The SCOTUS said that the Feds can cut the concertina wires. But SCOTUS did NOT say that Texas cannot replace the cut wires with new or replacement wires.

Texas is not allowing the Border Patrol to cut the wires. They are still being illegally prevented from accessing Shelby Park by the Texas National Guard and Texas Military Department.

“Hold the line”: Republicans rally to Abbott’s defense in border standoff with Biden
On Wednesday — and as the Texas National Guard and state troopers continued to roll out the wire and prevent federal agents from accessing much of the park — Abbott continued to publicly challenge the ruling and “hold the line." He declared that Texas was under an “invasion,” giving the state the constitutional right to defend itself and claimed that President Joe Biden’s practice of paroling migrants into the country amounted to a refusal to enforce current immigration laws.

Do you think that Texas should allow the Border Patrol to access the area?

Shelby Park is not a federal Park. It is a city and state park. Shelby Park should remain under the authority of Texas.
And the border is under the control of the Federal Government.

So, SCOTUS stopped the 5th Circuit Decision, allowing the Federal government to cut the razor wire, as per the lower court order that the 5th Circuit halted.

They have the lower court order which instructs them to allow the razor wire to be cut by the Border Patrol.

Texas, legally, is supposed to allow the Border Patrol to cut the razor wire, which requires access to the border and the park. The border which already falls under the purview of the government.

Sounds to me like Texas is breaking the law, there.

So, from what I see, the party of law and order decided that the law doesn't matter to them now.

Then go to SCOTUS with that argument and have them rule that that's a legal ground to deny access.

Texas hasn't done that. They've decided to ignore an order from the highest court in the country.

SCOTUS has ruled that the razor wire must be allowed to be cut, and Texas is refusing to comply.

That's breaking the law. Texas is breaking the law, and the Republican party is OK with that.

Texas is following the US Constitution there. Joe Biden is not.
That is your opinion, not a fact. Texas is breaking the law by refusing access. You can keep trying to move the goalpost, but that's the fact right now.

I believe that your opinion is incorrect.

I believe that Texas should follow the system of checks and balances we have in this country, and when the highest part of the judicial branch hands out a ruling to allow the Federal government to do what it is empowered to do, they shouldn't decide to throw a tantrum. If they disagree, they need to find a different thread of argument than the one that they had before, and go back up the court system with that.

Governor Abbot appears to believe that Texas is allowed to ignore the judicial branch. If Republican politicians think that's ok, then I think it's hypocritical to call themselves the party of law and order.

Conservatives can try and twist this all they want - But if they want to reject the SCOTUS ruling, then I will continue to say that Abbot and the republican politicians do not care about law and order.
