Thank You, I have pondered this and so far have found only these verses:
Leviticus: 16. 24. And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people. - Bible Offline

This was a long shot but Aaron had made the atonement for the sin of the people and himself.

Luke: 3. 3. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; - Bible Offline
