Someone had asked me this question, and I was wondering how others here would respond:

"I asked the question because TEs appear to be compassionate, intelligent and aware of subtleties, yet by accepting evolution, their god becomes amoral, callous or even cruel. I don't understand how they reconcile these facets."

What parts of evolution and nature are amoral? What parts are cruel?

I don't see the way things are in nature as cruel, they are just the way things are. A tsunami is not cruel, humans may be cruel for not helping, but the tsunami was just a movement of water without thought, it cannot be cruel.

Things living and dying are just the way things are, there is no cruelty there, just as there is no cruelty in the fact that water boils when it reaches a certain temperature.

I have no clue what is meant by amorality in nature.
