Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
I was just gonna ask that. With the new openness will the Congregational fora rules still apply as far as rule 1.4?
I don't personally see the value of having conciliators in an open system, as ordinary members will be able to act in that capacity.I can't answer for Erwin, but I can speak as a former conciliator. As long as humans inhabit these fora, there will be a need for conciliators. Not only do they help with staff-member interactions, but they help with member-member interactions, too. Misunderstandings are bound to happen, and a conciliator can be helpful sometimes.
ETA: lol! I just realized who posted this. Hi, Joykins, former Ombudsman extraordinaire.

I won't be able to answer all questions.
Database issues will be addressed under stage 2 - technology - trust me, that stage is going to be very very very radical - wait for it.

These people will not be allowed to post in our Christian-only forums.
Examples of these people who fall within this category are "Christians" who are also Preterist, "Christians" who reject the Trinitarian nature of God, or "Christians" who are Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses, and other denominations considered cults or sects by mainstream Christianity.
However, these members who consider themselves "Christians", (although not according to our Rules) may still post in this forum. (NOTE: atheists and non-Christians are NOT allowed to post in here).
This forum was created to foster communication and debate between Mainstream Christians (defined as Protestants and Catholics, Orthodox and Messianics) and those who consider themselves Christians who do not belong within mainstream Christianity. It is hoped that we can learn more about God, the Bible and each other.
Now gone. The Nicene creed no longer matters.

Who will decide which are important? *sigh* as much as I'd like certain things to be out in the open . . . . I'd rather they all go down the memory hole than confidential information be exposed. What about just putting all the remaining staff threads in the Trash Bin after sorting through to save just the important ones.
Also, could porn be hard deleted? Is there that option? Could Admins be empowered to hard delete useless posts or dangerous porn? Wouldn't that help cut down on the file size of CF?
I know some former staff who quit due to the soft delete of porn.
I agree with Joykins.
Some members are painfully shy and would rather not fight a report or even a banning, even if they did not have any malice or evil intent. Their words just came out wrong. We do have a lot of non-native English speakers who struggle.
