So what? If Christianity truly is the right and only way, then it will ultimately win. Besides which: non-Christians have as much a right to their beliefs as we do.
Ringo
Oh yes, it will ultimately win- but this WEB site may not be on the winning side.

And if you're not on the winning side, then you have to be on the losing side.

And the losing side's captain is not Jesus.

Please, lets keep the faith icons. I want to know who isn't a Christian and who is. I want to know who is of what denomination.

w/o faith icons, a non-believer troll could easily come in and try to deceive the Christians in here.

With icons, a non-believer troll can simply lie, say they're a Christian, and come in and deceive the Christians here.

Besides, the icons are, as far as I know, being kept; it's just that the site and moderators can no longer take someone's icon away because they decide they're not good enough for it.

Listen, if you don't agree with the Nicene Creed, your not a Christian, it is as simple as that. It's been like that for thousands of years. If someone has a Christian icon, and openly denies it, w/ the new system, he will keep his icon.

But now, if you don't agree w/ the Nicene Creed, and your icon is as a Christian, it is rightly removed. And keep in mind, that 100% of Christians agree to the Nicene Creed.

There is already a heretic claiming Jesus isn't God w/ a Christian tag, and someone else is agreeing who says they are a "Non-trinitarian Christian" there is no such thing...

If this is the direction CF is going, I'm gone. This place will die in a cesspool of heresy if it allows such statements to fly by ppl claiming to be Christian.

God is the only one who can and will decide what a Christian is, if it even matter at all. So where do you get off judging who is and is not a Christian when God may say otherwise?

Ok. But what about this case: say you've got a new Christian who's signed up and doesn't really understand the Nicene Creed. It's all a bit too theological for them, and they're not sure they agree with it; in fact, there are a couple of things in it that they think they may well disagree with. They state this, and suddenly they're told that according to this site they're not a Christian, and someone takes their icon away from them.

Or say you've got someone who doesn't believe the Bible about Jesus being crucified under Pilate - he thinks someone else was in charge at the time, and the Bible's got it wrong. This is hardly something Biblically necessary for salvation, and I think telling someone they're not a Christian for such a thing would be both incorrect and hurtful.

Love God and Love your neighbor. That's what Jesus preached; not a creed to agree with, point by point.

Well, go disagree with them if you think they're wrong. If it's in a congregational subforum, suggest that their ruleswiki have stricter rules about what may and may not be promoted as Christian.

Whatever.

The truth remains: if you believe in God and have accepted Him as your savior, you are a Christian. Everything else - everything - is secondary.

Sad news is anyone can come in and say they are Christian now and there is nothing that can be done about it even if it is obvious they are lying. The only way something would be done is if they are trolling.

But someone can call theirself a "christian" on this forum now if they believe Jesus was only a prophet, or if they are a "wiccan christian"
No one is allowed to question anyone's Christianity and so all kinds of heretical false doctrine will be introduced into these forums. Still called "Christian forums" But is really Secular and Politcally correct forum.

That's a real exaggeration.

Yes, this forum is called "Christian Forums" - but what brand of Christianity? Baptist? Methodist? Catholic? Pentecostal?

The reality is that there are a vast array of different denominations with a vast array of different theological backgrounds and opinions on this site. Rather than controversially narrowing the definition of 'Christian' and expelling a lot of good people that maybe Christian but do not ascribe to some minor point of doctrine, the mods here at CF are simply saying, "All are welcome".

You know, Christianity is supposed to be a religion of inclusion, but those who call themselves Christian don't often live up to that. They're too busy talking about "heretical doctrines" and worrying about the sky falling to see the value of a place where people of many different faith backgrounds can get together and discuss the major issues of the day.

Perhaps CF did go too far in the 'if you think you're a Christian, you are' rule. What they were really trying to do, I think, is include the many differing Christian denominations on this site. And that's a good thing.

Yes, they did.
Anyone can profess to be a Christian even if their intent is just to be an ass!
