"Cow Tail" geez I've been called lots of things in my life....:p

Well today I feel like ka-ka. I caught the cold that is running around here lately. I am taking tomorrow and Friday off in preparation for the big day on Saturday. Connie's baby shower. We have 50+ coming over to the house. What on earth did I get myself into?

The party will take place in our yard. Please pray the weather holds up. The forecast says Saturday will be the best day of our weekend but we all know that could change.

Connie is feeling lots of back pressure and just now she called. What is a mucus plug? Sorry to be graphic but she saw something when she went to the bathroom just a few minutes ago that was very slimy and thick. Also she is having very bad cramps and shooting pain. I told her to hang up with me and call her doctor immediately.

Holy cow...

If that was the mucous plug, then she's either in labor or it's probably coming soon.

Giving you a call - if I don't get you, call me back when you have a minute?

Okay, I need to stop pacing with a phone in my hand.

If all's well, then she's busy with her family and will call later.

If Connie's in labor, then she's definitely busy and will call later.

I think I'll give her one more try later, though. Maybe I shouldn't?

Have you heard anything yet?

My niece and her son just left....it was fun to see Alexis and Hunter play together. Her little one is 7 months old. He's really not so little! He's almost as tall as Alexis and he's only 2 lbs lighter (he's 19lbs and Alexis is 21lbs). She's sort of a pip squeek though. Long but skinny.

I haven't seen them since the weekend of the 4th of July so it was a pleasant surprise.

I'll call you again soon J.

When I was little we used to catch tad poles too. We would put them in a bucket and hope they stayed alive until they became frogs. We would check on them every day to see if their legs were growing. We had such a good time when we were kids.

See! We are no different now than we were then.We are the same exact people. Just a little more wrinkly! LOL!

One time I stole some eggs out of a ducks nest at the pond by my house.(I though I could hatch them). I put them under a light in and empty fish aquarium. 5 months later nothing still.

Finally my mother said get those egss out of here.I was heart broken. I was sure any day they would hatch.

TW reminded me of another childhood animal story.

We lived in Florida.Lots of snakes. My brother and I thought it was funny to stick a hose down a snake hole and flood them out.

Hey! We didnt know we were ankle deep in poisness baby snakes.:p

Also we went fishing a lot. My brother was an excellent bass fisherman by the age of 10.

But one time (at band camp) he was using one of those lewers that had like 6 hooks on it. and when he realed in this 5 lb bass the fish was on one hook. One of the other hooks ended up hooked into the bone of his hand.

Can you say emergency room?

Too funny all!

I used to find caterpillers and place them in a jar with milkweed then watch them make a cocoon. Then my Dad would gingerly place it up on my window curtains and we'd wait for the butterfly to come. A few times I got to watch them come out as a butterfly.

We'd catch them early on and place them on a tree branch outside.

A few times when I got home from school I'd find a butterfly flying around my room.

My 11 y/o DD has inherited my fascination with butterflies...has a butterfly themed room, wears jeans with butterflies stitched on, shirts, etc. She has had a few caterpiller/butterfly moments herself. :)

Thats superior! You got to see it!:) All my experiments dried up or escaped.

Blessings

She'll be sending them as soon as she can.

I forgot to tell everyone, she said to let you all know how much she appreciates the prayers, and she loves her 'net family.

A new little life in the world. Isn't it a miracle?
