Thales was a flat earth believer, and was the earliest recognised pre-Socratic philosopher. The earliest Greek map makers were also flat earth believers (Anaximander and Hecataeus of Miletus), as were the earliest ancient Greek writers (Homer, Hesiod).

The only pre-Socratic philosophers who didn't believe the earth was flat, were the Pythagoreans after Pythagoras, Parmenides and Empedocles.

By the way, even the founders of the Atomist School, Leucippus and Democritus were flat earth believers. The Atomists were materialist atheists. So even atheists originally believed the earth was flat.

And we all know that there has been no new information or improvement in scientific methodology or equipment resoultion since the ancient Greek natural philosophers.

As i said, the idea of the earth being round or a 'globe' is modern. It's the same as Darwinism (another modern anti-biblical theory), and is not compatable with the Bible.

There is no evidence from scripture the earth is a 'globe'. The Bible states the earth is flat, finate with a boundry (edges) and with a surrounding ocean. It also has supporting columns. Most of these things appear in other ancient mythologies, most notebly Greek.

''God made the two bright lights: the larger light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night. He also made the stars.''
