  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

But does this happen all the time.?? Of course not...lets be truthful...this is a Christian forum after all...or its supposed to be.

That's a sneaky way of calling me dishonest. This thread is directly related to the events in Milwaukee. My post was directly related to that. No slight of hand. Just a truthful commentary via a meme on the real state of affairs there. And it's happened several times before. Still, that's not the point. Read the OP.

Jesus wouldn't have sent the saints to America to war against the Natives, enslave the Africans, and build an earthly kingdom. That's not what the kingdom is about. You are confused.

True, the church didn't do those things, but they did hitch a ride to a place of safety where the church could be nourished and grow. God provided a place of safety for the church and the fulfillment of his promise to Abraham at the same time. Pretty neat.

Perhaps, but I cant say really. Its a tough world we live in and that much I know. I also know I need to do like Paul says, rejoice in the Lord and think about good and lovely things, things true and praiseworthy. I like to meditate on such things as stillness and refuge in the Lord.

Where I live concrete workers do not make close to $35 per hr. or have much for benefits unless they are supervisors. AND very little concrete gets poured in the winter, it is much too cold, so many construction companies do not provide even group medical ins. for their labors, only the top few who they don't lay off in the winter.

My son took a layoff last winter too, but this season has a lot of work. Finishers are in short supply where he lives, in fact the company asked if he knew any others as they needed several more. He told me that $35 was union scale there. He got his experience working for small non-union companies that paid him $20 an hour. It took years of my badgering him to shop himself around to larger companies but his loyalty held him back. Thankfully he overcame this as he has a family to support. I'm so proud of that kid that I'm tearing up.

People put unions down but frankly without a union people often don't get paid what they deserve. We don't have any unions here and the wages are low. I have close relationships with people in the construction industry and know what these huge, celebrity homes are being bid at and it is not going in the pockets of the guys who do the work.

They choose our leaders for us. Do you think a Godly people would ever choose either of those candidates? I lost confidence when we got stuck with Dole because I knew he couldn't win, then Mcain. I knew something was wrong after that. However, it was the scriptures that opened my eyes to flee from politics. Regardless of that though. how do we keep getting stuck with Candidates that do not represent us well? Does Trump represent Godly values to you?

God gives us the knowledge and ability to navigate our way safely regardless of who 'we' elect as leaders. Some evil person is going to fill these offices. It's no sin to attempt to elect the lesser of evils.
