  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

People put unions down but frankly without a union people often don't get paid what they deserve. We don't have any unions here and the wages are low. I have close relationships with people in the construction industry and know what these huge, celebrity homes are being bid at and it is not going in the pockets of the guys who do the work.

I'm all for unions as long as they don't get greedy or try to 'punish' the companies they've fought and finally organized.

Perhaps, but I cant say really. Its a tough world we live in and that much I know. I also know I need to do like Paul says, rejoice in the Lord and think about good and lovely things, things true and praiseworthy. I like to meditate on such things as stillness and refuge in the Lord.

You sure picked the wrong place to do that. ^_^

I think that's exactly why I believe and say what I do.

I'm kinda beyond that. If someone wants to hear the gospel message from me they'd have to follow me around. "Preach the gospel constantly, use words if necessary."

The apostle Paul said we should always make the gospel attractive. Politics are just ugly though. To the apposing sides of politics, the other side is always ugly. Politics in the Church are a contradiction. A man and wife become one flesh, so it with the Church and Christ. Is the Church bipolar?

Why the preoccupation with politics?

Because its ugly. The Church is supposed to be beautiful, like a woman with a quiet and gentle spirit.

The true church is that. However the visible church has many warts.

Maybe I misunderstand your intention here. That's like saying a true Christian loves people in an invisible way, but hates people in the visible way.

I'm reminding of the "wheat and tares" example. Hard to tell the difference at this time. In fact I believe that only God and Jesus knows who's who.

It matters what our opposition thinks. Do they think we are kind, gentle, and beautifully attractive, or ugly, hostile, and repulsive?

We are ambassadors of Christ, not ambassadors of the RNC or DNC.

Even the true church has warts, but, clothed in her wedding dress, she is beautiful.

The bible seems to teach us that things like love, gentleness, kindness, and humility, are what we "put on" like clothing. The bible also talks about keeping our robes clean.

True. The righteous shall "scarcely be saved".

The BLM movement is a backwards movement, and I honestly think that MLK would be rolling in his grave at the sight of things. What he marched for and actually PROTESTED for (not rioted!) was for people to be judged by the content of their character, NOT the color of their skin! BLM however want to flip this back around, and make it so that Black people get special treatment and passes simply by the color of their skin.

Are there some unjustified police shootings? Yes of course! And it doesn't only happen to black people. It happens to all races. But those shootings are few and far between and those officers are or should be rightfully punished. It doesn't mean go and shoot and kill innocent police officers, who are simply trying to protect their communities and make them a safer place for their family to live.

Me and my wife do not agree with them, and when they recently released their "demands" honestly I dont know how ANYBODY with half a brain can take these jokers seriously anymore.

An ongoing task for sure. :sigh:

They should change their slogan to "Black Life Matters" and then see to it that it does. If black lives matter only when a gun is pointed at them it's way too late.

Yes. Colossians 3 is a good scripture, It says we have died and been raised with Christ, and our life is hidden with Christ in God, in heaven. There is neither Jew or Gentile, bond or free, but all are one in Christ. I dare say that political factions have no place in the kingdom. You cant be one while being divided.

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
